I just read over on Toonzone that DBKai is over. How is that even possible? They have not even done the Buu saga yet. I thought they were going to change the music and go back to the old stuff for Buu? Is it just on a break? If not, it makes Kai now seem kind of pointless.

I think this discussion has been brought up in another thread.

If it has then a link would be nice for people. I know discussion of the music issues was brought up, but that's different than the discussion about the show ending before the Buu saga.
As for the subject at hand, assuming it really has ended without doing the Buu saga, it has to make you wonder then.
Should we take this as a sign that the people involved were negative toward it then? I mean to remove an entire story arc is a big move. Especially if it was actually in the manga.

Allegedly, Akira Toriyama wanted to end the manga at the Cell saga but was pressured by his editor to continue to the Buu saga.

What you said is true but the same thing happened after the namek saga

That's right. Though the Cell Saga did seem like more of an ending than the Buu Saga or the Freeza Saga. The Buu Saga was so forced and the "Goku is dead forever" then the "GOKU IS NOW BACK ALIVE!" was dumb.. actually that could go for both the ending of the Freeza Saga and the Buu Saga. Like it was plausible with the dragon balls and all that noise but the Buu Saga had so many out of it's ass decisions it just looked like a complete mess.
The final fight was good at least. Ending at the Cell Saga is a much better decision in my opinion.

Namek was the only arc where Goku DIDN'T die.

There is absolutely no evidence to support this theory. Anywhere. The only argument one can make is that it seemed like an ending, but then again, so did the end of the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. Incidentally, there was an article posted about this very topic on Kanzentai.com just a couple of days ago, which goes extremely in-depth about all the supposed "intended endings" of the series and whether or not any of them actually have any solid evidence for them... Have a look (http://www.kanzentai.com/intended_end.php).
Oh, and for the record, yes, Dragon Ball Kai ended with the Cell saga. For one very, very simple reason: It wasn't profitable enough. Despite getting consistently fantastic ratings, (which, mind you, means absolutely nothing in Japan) the DVDs, soundtracks, games and other merchandise just wasn't selling all that well at all. And do bear in mind that Freeza and Cell are by far the most popular arcs in the franchise, and if Toei couldn't make a profit of those, there's no reason to believe that the much less popular Buu-arc would make them any profit.
And about the music... Toei got sued for music plagiarism. Turned out several of Kenji Yamamoto's compositions were pretty much outright stolen from popular Hollywood-movies, (for a more comprehensive list of what he ripped off, here's a pretty in-depth feature on that too (http://www.daizex.com/general/feature/yamamoto.shtml)) and because of this, Toei basically cut off all Kenji Yamamoto's ties to the show and replaced his soundtrack with the original DBZ-music. This also seems to be carrying over into the international releases already, and chances are the parts of the series that already have been released will be re-released with Shunsuke Kikuchi's soundtrack.

It was heavily implied that he died as Namek went boom. Turns out he didn't die. That's my point really. I assume Toriyama intended him to die so Gohan and whoever the hell else could take over (just like at the end of the Cell Saga) but turns out you can't just get rid of your main character like that.
