Weather isn't being annoying for now, so let's get this round started shall we? This round has the final set of characters. I'll decide on any bonus rounds after its over.

Played The Game
Jason (Blaster Master)
Jade Curtiss (Tales of the Abyss)
Agrias Oaks (Final Fantasy Tactics)
Maya Schrödinger (Wild Arms 3)
Selphie Tilmitt (Final Fantasy VIII)
Tear Grants (Tales of the Abyss)
Dan Hibiki (Street Fighter 4)
Viese Blanchimont (Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny)

90s Cartoon Watching
Phoenix/Jean Grey (Marvel vs Capcom 3)

Votes
Viese Blanchimont (Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny)
Maya Schrödinger (Wild Arms 3)
???????

As much as I like Annie and Rorona, it was ultimately Viese that confirmed for me that the Atelier series and messing around with alchemy on occasion was nice. Plus, I like her role in the story.

Maya is awesome and I love her battle abilities. Let's just say they come with definite benefits that can't be denied.

The third vote is going to be a bit tough. Between Selphie, Agrias, and Tear, there's no clear winner. Ok, Selphie has a cute advantage, I suppose.

I have to admit part of me leans toward Reimi, in spite of the fact I have yet to play Star Ocean 4. Blame it on the pony tail and the weapon.

I, uh, can't believe I just voted for Reimi and Viese--both characters I feel ambivalent about. Still, better than ones I'm not familiar with or don't care for (cough, Selphie).

Not much for me in this round either, yet it does contain an instavote. My candidates:

Jason
Selphie

Selphie is an instavote. I'm pretty sure she's my favorite Final Fantasy ditz. I really need to restart FFVIII one of these days so I can actually finish it this time.

And wow, Blaster Master. I loved that game. I never got very far into it, but was it ever fun. Jason gets a nostalgia vote.

Characters from Games I've Played
Jade Curtis (Tales of the Abyss)
Agrias Oaks (Final Fantasy Tactics)
Filament (Ar Tonelico 3)
Maya Schrödinger (Wild Arms 3)
Selphie Tilmitt (Final Fantasy 8)
Reimi Saionji (Star Ocean: The Last Hope)
Tear Grants (Tales of the Abyss)
Viese Blanchimont (Atelier Iris 2)

Characters I Particularly Like
Jade Curtis (Tales of the Abyss)
Agrias Oaks (Final Fantasy Tactics)
Filament (Ar Tonelico 3)
Maya Schrödinger (Wild Arms 3)

Votes
Jade Curtis (Tales of the Abyss)
Filament (Ar Tonelico 3)
Maya Schrödinger (Wild Arms 3)

Maya is my character and awesome, transforming Ojou-sama fun, so that's vote #1. Filament is adorable, amusing and has one of the best purge sequences in the game (holy crap, do I love the neko-mimi and tail and her pose at the end of her purge), so that's vote #2. Vote #3.... goes to Jade Curtis, a guy. I'm making an exception here, because he's awesome. He was my second favorite character in the game, after Anise and over the other two girls. He's kind of an ass, but in a good way, because if he's acting like that to someone, they usually deserve it and its highly amusing to watch. There was actually one scene between him and Luke towards the end of the game that made me tear up. I like Agrias, a.k.a. Proto-Saber, quite a bit even if I can't quite explain why (she's not exactly the personality type that does much for me and I'm not generally into Saber-types), but she can't win against Jade.

Have played the game:
ABSOLUTELY NONE

Votes:
Filament (Ar tonelico 3: Sekai Shuuen no Hikigane wa Shoujo no Uta ga Hiku)'
Agrias Oaks (Final Fantasy Tactics)
Saionji Reimi (Star Ocean The Last Hope)

1) Bandaged... catgirl... nun?
2-3) No particular reason, just seemed attractive.

Kind of an empty round to go out on for me after the awesome characters in round 12.

Vote number 1 went to Jade Curtiss because he's totally cool and awesome. Plus, I love his sarcasm. Oh, and he's also my pick. The second vote went to Tear Grants. I have to admit that I didn't think much of her early on in The Abyss but I really grew to like her as I advanced in the story. Last vote went to Agrias Oaks. I really liked using her special job class skills.

First round in a long time that I can cast votes for characters in games I've played.

Jade Curtis is only the second best character in the entire Tales series to me, so insta-vote. Deadpan snarkers for the win!

Filament...purge...nekomimi...all fours...:nosebleed: only the best personae in Ar tonelico III.

Third vote went to Tear for some reason (sometimes she's just a cold, unlikable bitch, yet felt damn refreshing after the likes of Reala, Colette, and Shirley), but it could just as easily have gone to Agrias or Viese.

Agrias is love, John Marston is a great lead, and the red bird is pretty cute and addictive ;)

ilmaestro

Agrias = totally unblockable.

Jean, my character.

Dan... err... when left with a tough decision, I will take the FG character.

Votes are in. They are for Jade, Agrias, and Red Bird. As much as I like FFVIII, I can't stand Selphie at all.

My votes for Round 13:

Selphie Tilmitt (Final Fantasy VIII)
Phoenix/Jean Grey (Marvel vs Capcom 3)
Agrias Oaks (Final Fantasy Tactics)

Buster Blader 126

Jean, Filament (hot factor) and the angry bird.

The only other character I knew was Dan, but I always thought he was a little annoying.

Would conceivably vote for:

Agrias Oaks (Final Fantasy Tactics)
Filament (Ar tonelico 3: Sekai Shuuen no Hikigane wa Shoujo no Uta ga Hiku)
Selphie Tilmitt (Final Fantasy VIII)
Reimi Saionji (Star Ocean The Last Hope)

...ah, that narrows things down a bit more than I expected, soo...

Votes:

Agrias Oaks
Filament
Reimi Saionji

Agrias is, of course, awesome. Filament is the hottest catgirl-nurse-Reyvateil ever, and Reimi's pretty cool too.

I have to admit part of me leans toward Reimi, in spite of the fact I have yet to play Star Ocean 4. Blame it on the pony tail and the weapon.

In fact, she's sedu err convinced me to give her the third vote. Sorry, I wasn't that into Agrias and I don't remember Selphie well.

Great, not only do I have games I need to play in the first place, I have refresher courses to do. That's fun.

Note, I was sent a PM by JackC telling me that his vote for Razor was an accident. As such I had to give Razor's votes a -1.

His journey from defeating 1 HP enemies such as myself to battling the final boss aka Betenoire is complete. TnAdct1 has won the game and earned the right to watch the ending credits.

Yeah, assuming everything was handled correctly we have a winner. Let's just hope he doesn't demand too many spin-offs, sequels, and remakes.

For someone whose grown up on video games, I did very well here (with a first place finish altogether).

Thanks for everyone who voted throughout the draft.

Note to self: I probably need to plan ahead for next year.

Congrats Jimmie on the round win!

Thanks, my friend. :) Outside of the leads my next favorite character in Final Fantasy VIII was Selphie & I'm glad to see that she did so well. A 5th place finish overall is also very nice indeed.

To everyone who voted for Selphie in this round-Thanks for your support! :)
Also thanks to Suwako Moriya for running this new Draft & to Fencedude for the excellent job he did on the Big Board.

Congratulations TnAdct1 on the draft victory! Trophy unlocked, You're a player in TV games!

Congrats Jimmie M on the round victory. FFVIII is a favorite of mine but it seems to be often maligned, so it's good to see the characters able to pull so much support.

Thanks for putting on the draft too Suwako. it was quite interesting to see how the votes fell and what types of characters and games and eras could pull in votes. I was surprised some of my characters got as many votes as the did. I'm pleased with my overall performance.

Grats TnAdct1!

Thanks to Fencedude for the awesome big board. And of course thanks to Suwako for putting this on. I finished higher than I expected, and it was a lot of fun. Some of my characters definitely didn't do as well as I had hoped/expected, but others did much better. It was fun to see how the votes turned out.

Thanks for everyone who voted throughout the draft.

Note to self: I probably need to plan ahead for next year.

In the tradition of some games, you shall get a prize that's worthless compared to the level of accomplishment you have achieved. Thus here is a medal that just raises your stats by a single point.

Planning ahead sounds like fun. Although it will be curious as to what this board will be like come next year...

Personally my main plan mostly involves deciding what repeats to have next year and what new people to try for. Some characters are hard to resist using again, but at the same time I don't want to just rehash things.
