New Lupin III TV animation project announced.

ANN (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-04-29/new-lupin-iii-project-to-air-this-fall) just has it as a TV project but Crunchyroll (http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2011/04/29-1/lupin-the-3rd-new-tv-series-announced) has link that gives it as a new TV series.

More Lupin is always good. Day of :happydance: it seems.

Always good IMO to see more Lupin and company. Hopefully it won't be long before an anime licensor may/may not pick up the catalog of various Lupin OVA's and movies.

Now the important question is that will it retain the original cast from the movies/specials or they will be re-casted ? I know that the Lupin cast (apart from Lupin's seiyuu who replaced the original) are old and not getting younger. But i can't keep the fanboy inside me from wanting to have them back for their roles until they either retire or die for good.

You know what i actually bought some of the TV specials that funi had and i thought man someone needs to bring lupin over but then i heard about the fiasco with geneon/ Pioneer and was disappointed that no more ep were comming hopefully someone gets the rights when it comes to the U.S. P.S. Acording to ANN, apparently it is going to be a TV special not a TV series. While i would have preferred a TV series, i can always welcome more of Lupin III in any form. Perhaps this could either a final farewell to the original cast or the first to feature new ones.
