I need some help on determining if I should start the 12 episode series Kaiba. Originally when I heard about it I thought I would start to watch it, but I watched the first episode and put it in my to watch pile and haven't touched it since. Do you think it would be worth seeing this series? The art style looks very odd but not in a bad way, and the story..well honestly I can't really say what the story is, even after reading a little about it.
So yeah, Kaiba, any good?

It depends on what you are looking for. Kaiba is really a philosophical journey more than anything else. It takes place in a world where you can change your body, clone yourself and change your memories as easily as you can change your clothes. In a world like that who are you really and does it matter?
The show has some interesting characters and a few fun action scenes but at its core it is a discussion on the nature of identity. If that and the unusual trippy art style work for you then go ahead. Be warned that this is a mature show despite the impression the art style might give you.

Sounds good, looks like I'll try this show out then.

Woah. So I'm a tad over halfway through the series now, on episode 7, and this show is so amazingly interesting. It's hard to describe why I like this show, be it the art style that is always changing in a good way, or the connections the characters have made with each other. The first two episodes were very slow and I was considering dropping it, but once I got to the end of episode three I knew I was going to be watching the rest of the series. Some moments (E3 ending and E6 ending) are some of the best I've ever seen in anime as a whole.
So glad I started watching. Also, Vanilla is a boss.

Finished. The ending really felt sort of meh compared to the middle of the series. If I was just rating the first part of the show, it would have been an A+, but the ending made it a B+/A-. Definitely one of the most interesting animes to come out in the past decade though.

Wow. That just..that blows my mind for some reason. This was one of those shows that I couldn't fathom seeing the light of day outside of Japan. Any idea on if it will have a dub and who is releasing it?

Especially considering that it was a commercial failure in Japan.

Was it really? I assumed it didn't do that well, but I assumed it would have a small following there.

Well, it didn't sell zero copies so it probably does have a small following.
