My nutbladder! Great to see the girls again. That reminds me, I have to finish off x365 and then the third season.
Also news that Aoki Ume is beginning work on an entirely new manga.
GIMME GIMME GIMME! I really wish Tetsunagi Kooni was made into an anime, but given the shortness of the chapters, it would make a good 2 part OVA. The world must be reminded of the importance of girls holding hands while they sleep.

It's a good thing they realized the only thing better than three seasons of Hidamari Sketch goodness would be four seasons.
In any case, I wonder what this new manga will be like. And speaking of manga, like others I'd be interested in anime adaptation of Tetsunagi Kooni.

Well, they could in theory include original material, and expand on existing material. There's also the idea of timing, they might decide to say for example wait until there are at least two volumes of it out first.
Assuming of course she plans for it to be at least two volumes and there's enough demand to warrant the manga getting that far. I'm quite familiar with the idea of manga being canceled and mangaka deciding to end them.

I'm not sure if this one off BD deserves it's own thread but:
Hidamari Sketch x SP is being released on 11/23, via muhootsaver. (http://twitter.com/#!/muhootsaver/status/102394044231065600)
If anyone wants to make a thread for it, go nuts.

Fuck yes, it had to happen. So Hidamari becomes one of the rare four-season late-night franchises!
Now just release a season 1-2 BD box and take even more of my money!

I'm thrilled as well- there's several late-night franchises I'd love to see break that 3-season wall, but none more than Hidamari Sketch. More Hidamari is always a good thing!

Certainly more of this series is better. It better have Nori and Nazuna in it. It's anybody's guess what year this would happen in, but I would think that it would be when Yuno and Miyako are seniors, with Hiro and Sae having graduated.

Out of curiosity, do you enjoy making things up when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about?

Of course it will.
I would think that it would be when Yuno and Miyako are seniors, with Hiro and Sae having graduated.
There is no way this show is just going to skip over a huge, huge development like Hiro and Sae graduating without making it the pivotal final story piece of the show. Assuming they even do this season at all. I say leave something for season five!

Talk about some great news! This is some wonderful news! The third season was the best of the 3, how will be the 4th! Can't wait to see!

I'm also interested in seeing if the 4th continues the trend of each season outselling the one before. I'd love to see Hidamari finally crack 10k average.

I would really like the series to crack the 10k as well. I would really like to help it to happen, but I'm still not ready to cross a new line: Buying JP BD even if they don't have subs...
It better have Nori and Nazuna in it.
Of course it will. Except for original episodes that feature Misato and Riri or episodes with Yuno and Miyako just before that blessed spring of Nori and Nazuna's arrival.
Original episodes featuring Yoshinoya as a high school student? Maybe?
I would think that it would be when Yuno and Miyako are seniors, with Hiro and Sae having graduated.
There is no way this show is just going to skip over a huge, huge development like Hiro and Sae graduating without making it the pivotal final story piece of the show. Assuming they even do this season at all. I say leave something for season five! To quote Ume Aoki herself, in her afterword in vol 5.
"Lately, the seasons are going by really slowly in Sunshine Sketch. I hope I can continue drawing their lives at a steady pace with care, since high school days are full of moments that we can never get back."
Ume Aoki controls the pace, and it took from 2004 to around 2008 to complete Yuno's first year. If the author keeps this pace, Sae and Hiro's graduation could be shown sometime next year. 2016, Yuno and Miyako's projected graduation and the end of Hidamari Sketch.
I don't think Ume's going to end the series with Sae and Hiro's graduation. In fact the series should continue without Yuno's senpai. The most emotional point so far in this series is the day Sae and Hiro move out! Imagine as the trucks pull away, the mailboxes for 101 and 102 fade to white blank spaces. Miyako will have to console Yuno while Miyako mourns the loss of a food source!
Enough with stuff yet to be written by Ume Aoki. What will Season 4 bring? Heck, what's the name of this season's going to be? After all, it will be placed after Yuno's X the entire series!
Also...
Episode 1 of season 4, shall we do radio exercises?
TOMATOES! YOU ALREADY USED ITALIAN CUISINE!!
How will Chika make her appearence? Christmas in season 1, spring in X365 and Summer in Hoshimittsu
Will Natsume cross the line into Kuroko territory?
A different voice actress for school nurse Kuwahara?
How many times will Nazuna make Nori blush?
Eyecatch featuring Yuno dressed as Madoka?

Really guess I should get around to giving this series a second chance now, particularly since my subscription to TAN will make that easier to do.

Honeycomb makes me think of the cereal, which makes me hungry (given this is Hidamari Sketch, making me hungry is appropriate, though :) ).
Well, I did give the series the second chance I mentioned in my post above, and not only that, I'm all caught up and looking forward to the new series. Nice to know it's coming in fall now.

Voice Actress Yuko Goto Goes on Hiatus Due to Health (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-05-18/voice-actress-yuko-goto-goes-on-hiatus-due-to-health)
The talent agency Axl One has issued a notice stating that voice actress Yuko Goto (Hiro in Hidamari Sketch, Mikuru Asahina in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) will be going on hiatus due to poor health. According to the statement, Goto was told by a physician that she required treatment after undergoing an examination at a hospital.
As the length of her hiatus will be determined by further consultation with doctors, when Goto will return to voice acting activities is unknown. The fourth season of Hidamari Sketch, a series that Goto has played a role in previously, was announced (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-03-31/hidamari-sketch-4th-tv-season-titled-dated) as airing in October, but it is not clear what effect if any Goto's hiatus will have on its production.

Voice Actress Yuko Goto Reveals Ailment as Autoimmune Disease (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-05-19/voice-actress-yuko-goto-reveals-ailment-as-autoimmune-disease)
Voice actress Yuko Goto (Hiro in Hidamari Sketch, Mikuru Asahina in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) revealed on Saturday evening that the ailment that led to her hospitalization this month is an autoimmune disease. As Goto explained, this disease occurs when a person's immune system attacks his or her own body — in Goto's case, her heart, lungs, and blood cells. In her first blog posting in about a month and a half, Goto reported that her hospital stay will be two and a half months at the minimum.
Goto said that everyone at her management at Axl One — from the president (fellow voice actor Toshiyuki Morikawa) on down — has been watching over her for days at the hospital and talking with her parents, who came to Tokyo to visit their daughter. She previously wrote in her blog about a similar disease she suffered during junior high school, but she recovered thanks to treatment from excellent doctors.

Damn, that's a shame. I hope she gets better, but I wonder if it means she'll do what she's contracted to do right now and take no new roles. They can't replace her 4 seasons in. I'd rather they bump the production off to winter or further than replace her.

There can be no Hiro-san without Gotou Yuuko. ;_; If I don't hear her voice saying "Sae-san~" it just will not feel right.
Sucks. Hopefully it's not too serious.

I just hope Gotou Yuuko will be back in time. If not, I'd rather see the show delayed one or even two seasons if that's what it took.

An update about her current health condition:
Source: ANN (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-06-28/voice-actress-yuki-goto-expects-to-leave-hospital-in-august)
Voice actress Yuko Goto (Hiro in Hidamari Sketch, Mikuru Asahina in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) revealed on Thursday that she expects to be discharged from the hospital in early August, if all goes well. According to her doctor, Goto has completely moved past the imminent threat, although she intends to take things slow. Goto went on hiatus from her agency in May due to her health, and she revealed later that month that the ailment that led to her hospitalization is an autoimmune disease. She added at the time that her hospital stay will be at least two and a half months.
The staff for the Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere II television anime announced in June that voice actress Natsuko Kuwatani (The Future Diary, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) is replacing Goto as F. Walsingham in the series. The series will premiere on July 7.
