Ano Natsu de Matteru, new Kuroda Yousuke/Uon Taraku original anime

A new original anime was just announced as a collaboration between Kuroda Yousuke and Uon Taraku. Kuroda did scenario, screenplay and story composition for Onegai Teacher and Onegai Twins, while Uon was character designer for both. The latter is pretty clear, given that the two characters featured looks almost exactly like Ichigo and Mizuho.

Surely not a coincidence that BD boxsets for both Onegai series just got solicited either...

Don't think any details are out now, but as I liked both Onegai series and this show is almost certainly trying to ride those coattails, I'll be keeping an eye on it.

Heh, I have the Please Teacher boxset, so I guess that's yet another series I need to actually get to watching before the "new one" comes, even if it's a different series and not a sequel in this case (been wanting to already, anyway: just haven't found the time). In any case, Kuroda has written for quite a few series I enjoy, and I've really liked Uon's designs too, so seems like I'll be at least somewhat interested regardless.

JC Staff is the studio. This means they're working on six shows at once (http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=364769) in Winter '12.

Director is going to be Nagai Tatsuyuki (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=19866), so here's another show title beginning with "Ano" for him. That definitely gets my interest up even higher, as I love quite a few series he's associated with.

Male protagonist's hair makes him hard to take seriously, but everything else looks really nice. It's definitely going for a nostalgic sorta feel.

Toradora! is one of my top 10 favorites, and Ano Hana is damn close, so while I'm not a fan of Please Teacher/Twins, I'm pretty excited for this.
