I'll comment on Gantz and Spicy Wolf.
I'll start off with Spicy Wolf. I LOVE this series. It's kind of like a suspense story about medieval European economics. It's so unique. Oh yeah, there's also a cute wolf girl too. lol
I've only seen the first season (the 2nd sits on my shelf waiting to be watched). The entire first season was strong all the way through. The characters are great, and I was always wondering how they would pull through each situation (or would they?).
If you want to see something that isn't really like anything else, then this is your show (especially if you like economics).

Now, onto Gantz. Gantz is totally different. It's set in the present day, present time. It's super violent and has a fair amount of nudity. Ostensibly, it has moral lessons to teach about society. You can certainly see that. You see it more so in the manga since the anime only covers a portion of the manga. The show also has an interesting premise that lends an air of mystery to the show. I enjoy things like that.
All in all, if you want a gory, violent show with lots of action and you don't mind nudity, then I'd say go for it. I'd actually recommend the manga over the anime, though.

The GANTZ anime also takes the suspenseful plot points of the manga and makes them horribly paced and intensely annoying to watch. Go ahead and try it, but if you totally hate it I still say give the manga a roll. (The live action movie is also decent, IMO.)
GANTZ is a much better manga when it's just suspense and action scenes. It's "social commentary" is pretty forced, which is why it's especially bad that the anime chose to really play up those elements and expand those dialogue points. Sexual content is much more intense in the very beginning. It starts to die off and become tamer after a while.

Yeah, I agree with this. The anime did add some stuff that wasn't in the manga detailing the characters' day to day lives. That does change the pace. Although, I didn't really have a big problem with it. The animation quality also isn't super great according to most of the reviews I've seen. Although, I tend to not pay much attention to that stuff myself.
I also found the movie rather entertaining, but I wouldn't watch it until you've seen all the anime or read 3 battles worth of the manga since that's about what the first movie covers.

The only one that I own and have seen completely is Last Exile, so I'll comment on it.
It's a fantastic looking and sounding series, but I found the ending less than satisfying. In fact, I just hated it. But that's probably just me, as I hate confused and weird WTF endings like Eva and Eureka 7. The ending isn't quite as bad as those, but still.......
However, most folks don't seem to mind the ending so chances are that if you really like the first disc, then chances are really good that you'll like it all the way through.
