I wasn't sure if anyone else was going to put this up so I figured I would. It should be interesting to see how this one turns out seeing as it's based off of manga that;s actually finished. I'm not really sure how they'll manage to condense it into 26 episodes, but hopefully it'll work out.

Subs are finally up so I guess I can throw my opinion in now(though I did take a look at the RAW)
I wasn;t sure what to expect from Asread but this looks like a pretty solid adaption so far(and decently animated minus CG Deus). Managed to get through the prologue and the first chapter as I figured it would, though I wasn;t expecting the meeting of the twelve holders to be in this episode. I thought it would be at the very beginning of the next episode.. Well they do only have 26 episodes to cover the whole manga so I suppose it works and it gets right to the point.
Can;t wait to watch more.

I'm pleased with the presentation of the first episode. We get tossed into the story not knowing anything about the constructs of the game and are gradually told via Yuno and Deus. It's very well organized to lead us to the final segment of "Everyone's gunning for Yukiteru" and his only hope is this insane girl. While fast-paced, it serves as a great introduction to the premise of the series without giving away too much. I'm greatly looking forward to next week's episode knowing what should happen.
Well they do only have 26 episodes to cover the whole manga so I suppose it works and it gets right to the point.
Must be a really drawn out story for the manga to be that long to kill off ten more characters.
If Yuno is one of the twelve then she must be eventually gunning for Yuki too. She seems yandere enough that she just must be saving him for last.

Well. That was interesting.
I knew of this series, but didn't know much other than that Yuuno was supposedly the most archetypical yandere stalker. And, well. She is! She's glorious.
On the other hand, I could not possibly care less about our lead character.
Oh, and the CG Deus is appalling.

Episode 1:
- Well I guess that's one way to start a show.
- Ughhhhhhhh that is some horrid CG. Holy fuck.
- Wait, our male protag sounds a lot like... Oh nevermind, she's nobody well-known really. She did Mai in Nichijou though. I actually thought he sounded a heck of a lot like Shinji from Eva. That sort of breathy, pseudo-whiny quality to the voice. Maybe I'd feel differently if I'd watched any Eva more recently.
- Alright, so that's the future diary. It's all well and good when you can use it to cheat on tests and avoid trouble, but what do you do when it tells you you're DEAD?
- I love how actions he takes adjust the timeline. And yet it keeps ending at DEAD END. Feels like he's going to be frantically trying to change that last entry for a long time to come...
- I can't look at Yuno without thinking of Mizunashi Akari. :sd:
- Yuno is awesome. Pretty, but creepy, but adorable...
- Yep. I am in love with her. "Oh that's it? Boring. Want to go get a bit to eat? Your mom won't be home tonight." FFFFFFF
- Urgh, more CG. Don't make me drop what seems like an otherwise super promising show, please.
- Why is silly hair guy from Gosick here?
- Fuuuuuck it's like they're walking right into my room, looking me in the eyes, and saying "PLEASE DROP THIS SHOW!" But I don't want to, because Yuno is glorious and the premise is fascinating. Damnit, Japan, don't do shit like that. I'll deal with it for now but this better the the most of it we ever see in one episode.
- DELICIOUS YANDERE. YUNO <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I'm really glad you like Yuno. She's easily the most popular character (with another one that's not been introduced as a distant second (no pun intended)) of the series and sets the bar for any yandere type. I hope you stick with the show as the next couple of episodes are going to be interesting.
If they keep the pacing that was used in the first episode, they'll be fine. 26 episodes for 12 volumes should be plenty to evenly split volumes and allow for special scenes to be expanded upon.

-The hell? When did Cinema Snob (http://thecinemasnob.com/) reviews start bleeding into my anime viewing? Literally bleeding.
-Amano is obsessive compulsive.
-PINK HAIR! Ever other character design so far in this school seems realistic. So miss pink sticks out horribly.
-So that's what air friends looks like. Death of Llamas and a small tan catgirl.
-You have to get out! The texts are coming from inside the microwave! Hehe.
-You have to get out! Yuno is reading from inside your head!
-Yuno is rather creepy. But she could keep Amano alive. Is it worth survival if it means giving into a stalker?
-That's an unpleasant way to die-- Man Yuno is a hard bitch.
-You are one sick old Time Lord mister Deus ex Machina. Also really, that's the best name you could come up with?
-Is one of the other's Strawberry Shortcake?
Worst imaginary friend ever.

<3 Yuuno. It's been a while since I watched a show with a good deliciously, murderously demented girl like her.
Very nice first episode. I had heard of the manga a long time ago and had been wanting an anime of it for quite a while, as the story and some things I've heard are right up my alley. So far, its meeting my hopes (aside from the unfortunate use of CG for a major character.... thing).
I was a little worried when I was looking at the staff and studio involved beforehand, but so far its pretty good. Though I am worried about pitfalls down the road, since this is adapting an 11 or 12 volume series in only 26 episodes. Trying to cover all of that in two cour is likely to cause problems at some point. On the other hand, while it would be preferred to cover 2/3 of the series in two cour and finish it off in a one cour sequel, if the sales aren't good enough....

Finally found subs(can;t wait for the legal stream so I won;t have to sit through so many delays)
- I wasn;t sure if they were gonna fit in the bit with Yuno constantly texting Yuki, but they did. It was as creepy as it should have been
- Best OP song of the season. Period.
- Hmm..,didn;t think they were gonna introduce Ninth so early in the episode, but I guess they;ve gotta get through this arc by the end of the episode.
- Yes Yuki. She;s a stalker so be afraid of what she means by "anything"
- And now we find out the big weakness to Yuk's diary (albeit obvious) and why he needs Yuno to stick with him.
- Only in anime can you contemplate life while a mad bomber tries to kill you.
- Don;t remember Fourth smoking in the manga, but who cares, he looks badass
- Poor Yuki;s being thrown around like a ragdoll this episode.
- Annnnddd...they shortened Ninth's inner monolouge before being stabbed in the eye. Well at least it sounds less ridiculous this way.
- Just where did Ninth get that bike?
- "Happy End" entry shows up. Fun times ahead for this one
- ED song stands out a bit more than in the first episode. Like the animation their using
- Another MuruMuru session. Kinda wish that explination was in the episode, but it was pretty obvious anyway.
Can;t wait for next week.

Yuno is the sweetest, most adorable pyschotic crazy stalker girl ever.
Holy shit. At least half of the students in Yukiteru's school are dead, and its only episode TWO. And a large chunk of them were indirectly but very, very willingly killed by Yuno.
And we've already met two other diary owners. I'm kind of impressed at how much they managed to cram into this episode, and it didn't feel rushed.

Episode 2:
- 40 messages. Yuno I LOVE YOU. You adorable, deadly lunatic.
- Oh fucking wow, THIS OP. Holy shit. That was amazing, especially at the end with the crazy crazy Yuno stuff.
- Heh as soon as they said the teacher was absent I had to assume he was the killer.
- And someone has found Yuki already.
- Also, Yuno is sexy goddamnit.
- ...Holy shit. She just blew up the school and probably killed a hundred kids. Wow.
- Images of dead kids crushed by rubble. This show doesn't fuck around.
- Yuki, I think there's one big flaw in your plan: you're trying to manipulate someone who knows what you'll do before you do it. But then she's so happy to be his protector that
- "Don't worry, I'll kill her!" ::smile smile:: YUNO <3
- Blushing Yuno... she's a nutcase but I hope she doesn't die. ;_;
- Speaking of crazies, lol Minene.
- Two very complementary diaries. Yuki's is about everything but himself. Yuno's is only about Yuki.
- What's fascinating about their relationship is how it's grown into a two-way dependence. Yuno needs Yuki because she's in love with him, and Yuki needs Yuno because she's the only one who can save him. And now he's showing signs of developing an emotional bond with her. A dangerous, desperate and twisted bond.
- Next diary owner! A cop.
- Oh fuck. Yuno just declared the whole school Yuki's enemies. Prepare for a bloodbath.
- HAHAHAAH HOLY SHIT! She just sprints down the hallway setting off the bombs in every classroom. Holy fuuuuuuck, that is an incredible scene
- Fourth is fun.
- Dart to the eye! That seems painful. Also very clearly shows how the diaries must take precedence over everything.
- SKIRT SMOKE MISSILES!
- Really can't imagine we can trust Fourth (or anyone) but, for now at least, he seems okay. For what that's worth.
HAPPY END!

Episode 3:
- Urgh, episode 2 was a lovely respite from CG (minus school desks, but whatever) but now the amusement park is like a monument to visual pain.
- "You won't have school for a while." That's one way of putting it.
- Heh. Yuki is starting to think of Yuno as a normal girl. That won't last.
- Pool!
- Mmm, watermelons. Oh wait, just you, Yuno. Even better!
- "My swimsuit washed away." Even though it was too tight just a moment ago?
- Too happy. Something horrible will happen soon.
- Huh. Did not think they'd get off hat ferris wheel without something exploding.
- And Yuki learns a little about Yuno, but certainly not the important part.
- Meanwhile, Minene isn't having the best day. And another diary owner has found her. She's probably around for a while, since we see her in the OP with her hair down and an eyepatch on.
- Yuki alone in the dark in Yuno's house at night. So she's going to walk in half naked in 3, 2, 1...
- What? Yuno, you have clothes on. You're doing it wrong.
- Hahah, dude hides his face with a paper bag.
- Oh jeeze... Yuno killed her family so she could be alone with Yuki, didn't she?
- Yeesh. they actually showed us the punctured eyeball. And I guess no surprise that he was the guy with the thing over his head. At least we know Minene can't die here.
- Back to Yuki. Oh yeah, she totally killed her family. And not recently either. Now to find out why...
- But what the fuck is going on? Yuki finding that out is... definitely changing things.
"Oyasumi, Yukkii." OH GOD YUNO. I haven't seen eyes like that since what I watched of Higurashi.
I fucking love her so much, god damn. But, huh, this is two cour and they've already gone here with Yuno? I assume Yuki will have to pair back up with her soon - this is a relationship of desperation after all - but now there's no way it can be the same between them.

This isn't a spoiler, but a clarification. Yukki wasn't supposed to go into that room. Until he chose to do so, things would happen as said in the diaries and Yuno would get her Happy End. Once he did go into that room, he freaked out and now the trust he built in her is gone. Thus not only his/Yuno's futures changed, but the rest of the players as well since their trust is gone and the game itself will play out differently than what was originally written. Does that make sense?

I get that that's what happened, yeah. It just remains to be seen why taking an action like that had such a profoundly stronger impact on the game than any other action. Actions affecting the words in everyone's diaries has been a very common occurrence thus far. This is just on a much bigger level, it seems. Plenty of time left to find out of course.

Well, I'm pleased to see this was revealed early on, as I was spoiled on Yuno killing her parents ~2 years ago when I first heard about Mirai Nikki. Hell, that was what made me want an anime of this so badly, because I knew Yuno was a complete psycho. Now there's only one other thing I've been spoiled on, though it will probably be a while before it comes up (thankfully, I don't remember which character it was related to).
But the interesting thing about that, is that Yukiteru discovering that has had some sort of incredibly profound effect. And Deus is quite pleased that Yukiteru did this. It seems there's much more to this game than Deus had let on.
.... By the way, where were their cell phones while they were swimming? I wouldn't want to let my cellphone of my site in their situation, but they sure as hell couldn't have taken them with them into the water. For a moment there, I thought something happened to Yukiteru's cell phone when he fell back into the water and started drowning.
And ouch, I almost feel bad for Minene. And suddenly I'm having flashbacks to a much, much nastier scene in Deadman Wonderland (the scene in question is what finally got me to drop it and is the probably the only time I've ever been thankful for massive censorship).

This definitely has my interest. It's a fascinating premise, and it's executed impressively well. Wakamoto epicness doesn't hurt, either. There are some things I'm not sure I like about it, though. All of the characters seem a little off in the head in their own ways, and not in a way that's enjoyable to watch. I hope that will just lead to good things as they develop as characters. Deus is awesome, but that CGI doesn't look so great to me. Still, for the most part, it's looking good, so I'll keep watching.

So back to watching low quality streaming videos it is:cry:. It's been a nice 4 months without it since I discovered downloads...
Anyway, the episode was pretty good. Not exactly Higurashi, but that's probably too high an expectation...

Truthfully I've been waiting for an episode like this. We've gotten hints as to what Yuno is capable of, but nothing like what happens in this episode. Welcome to full-yandere Yuno!
The first part of this episode opens with our reminder of what was revealed last week and the effects it's having on Yukki. I love the inclusion of Yuno messaging him while he's trying to call 4th. A friendly reminder that Yuno's always watching over his every move. Then when 4th comes to pick them up, she interrupts his explanation with some heavy suggestions to change the topic. Oh Yuno!
This episode introduces us to yet another diary holder, which puts us at half the cast already (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 9th, 12th). She has a very interesting diary in that she can see whatever her followers see. However, it's flaws are pointed out in this episode: she's limited to what her followers believe they see. Someone's hypnotized her followers and she gets put in danger twice.
We also get reintroduced to 12th, who's watching over 9th in her cell. This is where the original manga actually introduced him (last week's bits with 9th were from a spinoff titled Future Diary Mosaic), so we find out that he's actually blind. That's probably got something to do with his diary if you were paying attention. Given what we saw last week, it's highly probable that he's the one who hypnotized the followers of the 6th. Isn't he cool?!
And so we end with Yuno showing no fear at killing people. While Yukki is commonly afraid of the situation, Yuno backs up her reputation of being intelligent to figure out the trick. I wonder how this would've played out if Yukki hadn't opened that door. Would he have trusted Yuno from the beginning? Not to mention, where's 4th in this whole mess? Has his backup arrived yet?
Another very good adaptation from the source. While the show proves it has a small budget with the horrible CGI and small bits of motion, asread has truly captured what made the manga great. Next week should be pretty exciting. How will they get rid of Yukki and 6th's Dead End flags?

-"I have to think of something to say"... well... that was something...
-There should have been a trail of blood coming out of his nose as he was floating away. That would have been funny.
-Wow. I think it's been about... 8 or 9 years since I've seen a scene as eye poppingly exciting as that. It's a nice Halloween treat.
- Urgh, episode 2 was a lovely respite from CG (minus school desks, but whatever) but now the amusement park is like a monument to visual pain.

Now we meet another Diary Wielder, Sixth. We've sure met a lot of them for only being in the fourth episode. Anyway, she's a young-looking cult leader girl with poor eyesight, and diary that lets her see anything her followers are "reporting".
Naturally, Yuno wants the bitch dead. And she gets an excuse to start killing other people, which she's more than happy to take advantage of.
This episode had pretty interesting dynamic with the uneasy alliance of Yukiteru, Yuno, and Sixth, and another diary owner within Sixth's ranks trying to kill them all.
Twelfth is annoying and I hope he dies very soon. I hope Sixth doesn't get killed off quite yet next episode.

Lots of highlights this episode:
- Wow I did NOT think they would keep in all of Tsubaki/Sixth's backstory. They even played up the rape more than the manga did
- The Twelfth Rangers were as ridiculous and awesome as they needed to be. I will praise Funi if they got Bosch to do his voice solely for the reference
- Twelfth reveals that Tsubaki is (unsurprisingly) evil and the cult does some nasty stuff on a regular basis
- Can;t believe they fell for the rock trick. Poor twelfth, the guy really was trying to do the right thing

Yay, episode 3's video quality isn't quite as horrible as the first 2!
And episode 4's video quality is much better than that, since I learned this show was on niconico! Is this really 360p? It can't be... it's beautiful...
Anyway:
-He threw the frog... that was rather violent...
-Hmm this miko or whatever girl reminds me of Yuu in Black Rock Shooter...
-Cowering lol. Yuki's so pathetic.
-Henshin Tights! Henshin Gloves! Oh god I literally laughed out loud at that.
-Ughh, censorship. But "kill the corpses" with that smile almost makes up for it... almost.
-Yuno seems so comfortable with an ax.

- 12th is such a silly silly man.
- Yuno isn't looking too good.
- HAHAHHA! 12th used the bomb simply to punctuate his sentai entrance.
- Oh that was just a different bomb.
- YUNO I LOVE YOU! Oh my god she's good. "You have good ears..." ::SLASH::
- See, Yukkii? You should always trust Yuno. Yuno is a good girl. A very good girl. ::nods::
- And then when Yuno saves his ass again, he leaves her there by herself. ;_; Poor Yuno. She's such a sweet, innocent girl, I hope someone saves her. =D
- Yuki has both his and Yuno's diaries. Now that's powerful.
- Ah so this is how Yuki gets his faith back in Yuno. Kinda had to happen, we're only 5 eps in out of 26 or so.
- No, raping Yuno is not allowed. You stop that right now, you bad people.

So part of Tsubaki's "duties" to her cult was to be a depository for their sins. By means of gang rape. Oh goodie.
And it turns out Yuno was right to want to leave Tsubaki to her death. She was trying to take out Yuki and Yuuno along with several other Diary owners at once. But I think I might like her being evil more. Minus the whole "tries to have Yuno gangraped" part. Kind of a shame to see her die already.
I think the show got as much it could out of Twelfth, so it was nice to see him gone. He was pretty amusing in this episode though. The guy made his own freaking (hypnotized) sentai team and was going to blow himself up to take down a villain. He was completely off his rocker, but you gotta respect his dedication to his nutty super hero ideals.

I finally got around to watching this episode. This series is really getting great. Yuno is absolutely insane, but it turns out Tsubaki is just trying to kill everyone anyway. And after being raped by all the members of the cult for years, she sends them to rape Yuno and draw out Yuki so she can kill them both. There's definitely no clear good guys and bad guys here. Yuki is basically the only good guy, but he doesn't usually have much power, so he just has to choose which crazy murderous bitch to listen to. Yuno is actually the victim for the end of this episode, and when she's completely helpless, she can be a lot more sympathetic. Tsubaki would probably be a great person if her life and virginity weren't brutally destroyed by everyone around her, but now she just wants to inflict that level of suffering on everyone else. And of course Twelfth is a hero of justice, but... wait. Twelfth might be the craziest bastard around, but at least his crazy is slightly more positive. Okay, I guess Yuno just wants to protect her Yukki, and she's generally pretty good at it, hence his eventual reluctant decision that saving her was the way to go, but she sure would brutally slaughter the rest of humanity with a smile if she thought that would help. Twelfth just wants to be the hero of justice, and it's pretty hard to hate a guy who hypnotizes whoever is around so he can complete his sentai squad. Well things are moving along quite quickly. There have been a lot of changes, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Now we meet Yuki's mom. So does Yuno. Yuki's mom is already ready to marry them off. And for them to start fucking. Unfortunately for her, Yuno was already planning to kill her if she didn't meet her standards. Yuno clearly had issues with her mother and it probably won't take much for Yuno to deem Yuki's mom a thread and kill her. Odds of Yuki's mom surviving the series don't seem good to me.
Now we meet a new diary owner, a six year old little boy. Who's parents were killed in the Sacred Eye cult incident. And is living at Yuki's house for a few days. And has already made an attempt on Yuno's life.

I don't care how ridiculous this show gets. As long as I can put that out of my mind, I realize how much of it I love. Yuno's extreme yandere personality will probably never get old to me. "You always look so cool, Yukki." There's not many cases where a guy like him should get freaked out when a cute girl peers around the corner to say that, but considering what else she does, it's more surprising that he stays with her. I guess he doesn't really have a choice, but he still seems to accept it more than he should. I guess once you've gotten to a certain point, you just have to give up and embrace the insanity you can't escape. And there's never any shortage.
Two nice new girls end up being a diary holder and her accomplice, the already suspicious but seemingly helpful wannabe detective is apparently another one, and the only guy who might not be an enemy is an asshole from the previous school who will probably just be worthless through this ordeal. And the one ally is Yuno, and, even though he's the craziest girl in the series, she's also a very valuable ally. I really wonder what will happen next.

This new high school doesn't have uniforms. That is so weird. In fact, it doesn't seem to have a dress code at all, considering what Hinata can get away with wearing. Really could have done without Yuki pulling Hinata's pants down. Mao's reaction to it was amusing though.
Hinata's death was suspicious from the start, since losing an arm isn't fatal and the way she was laying there was such that she could have been hiding a perfectly okay arm. Then you see her in the picture in the old man's house....
Nice to see Mao's in on it too. Between her comment to Yuki earlier about him not getting anywhere with Hinata and her being in with Hinata on the diary stuff, that pretty heavily implies that they are more than friends. Yay for murderous lesbians. <3 Mao
I was kind of hoping they would be normal people so that they would be around for a few episodes and Yuki would have to struggle with trying to make friends during this deadly game, but I also really like my murderous girls. The main problem is it means that Hinata probably won't live long. Mao is an interesting question since she's NOT a diary holder. Yuki has only killed people by destroying they're diaries and Yuno has only killed nameless NPCs. But in this case, destroying the diary might not result in Hinata's death, since we don't know how this diary transfer thing works.
Then there were two other very interesting things this episode. First there's Yuki trying to decide whether to do the strategically right thing and keep his diary a secret, or to be a good (and far too trusting) guy and do the "right" thing for his "friends" and piss Yuno off in the process for recklessly endangering they're lives.
Then there's Aru. We don't yet know if he actually has a diary. Hinata's suspicion could be wrong and the post-ED scene doesn't confirm he was given one. Based on what we've seen of the other diary owners' silhouettes, he shouldn't be able to have one. But.... what Hinata is right and he DOES? That would have some pretty major implications.
The one negative is the scene of Hinata wandering into the woods and wandering into the dogs. Her behavior there does not make any sense in light of what's actually going on. She knew what was there and she was controlling them. There was no reason for her to act like an innocent wandering to her death there because no one else in the actual show was present to watch her.
This is a case of going to far in trying to mislead the audience, because it basically breaks the fourth wall by either showing something that didn't actually happen (though there may be rare cases where this can work; untrustworthy narrator if you can find a way to make it work in film form) or by having a character act in way that only makes sense if they know the audience is watching them. It's a fairly minor issue, because the reveal occurred in the same episode and its not related to some fundamental plot point of the series, but its still annoying because its blatant example of poor writing.

- Haha, aww, Minene has befriended woodland creat-- oh. Well she just tossed it, I thought she was going to crush it in her hand. :sd:
- Yukkii, you don't seem to get the rules of this game. So what if Rei is a kid? Ain't stopping him from murdering you. Granted, I can see why he might not want to drag his mother into this, which would clearly happen if a headless kid were found in her house.
- HAHAHAH! Oh wow, awesome. Yuno just says "fuck it" and plans to smash his head in.
- Well. Shit. That backfired. ;_;
- Meditating on the table. o_O
- Uh wow, she really goes into a trance thinking about it.
- ...I wonder what the delivery man thought about what just happened? suppose you just learn to turn away and close the door as soon as you can. :sd:
- The game begins! Uh, man, good luck explaining this to mom.
- Well that got fucked up. And wait, we see the punctured eyeball but a simple stabbing - where we couldnt have seen anything graphic, the book covered it - is censored? Weird priorities.
Great episode. Minene ends up saving them... what's her motive? I guess she knows Yuno will take out the rest of the diary holders in short order for her. But Yuno herself is the most dangerous.

- New school. Not in the same classroom? Oh shit.
- Hinata has gigantic boobs.
- ...Okay, major fail on the pants-pulling gag. Seriously, what a stupid stupid thing to put in this show.
- Loved Mao taking a photo though. :sd:
- So which of these two girls is the diary owner? Maybe both, but Mao more likely. I'd have to check he silhouettes but neither looks familiar. If they're not owners, then I suppose they'll get eaten.
- ...or killed by Yuno when she sees them with Yukkii. >_____>
- Uhhhhh. So yeah let's go hang out in a park where someone was eaten. Ummmmmmm.
- Well that's a very Yuno thing to do. Smile while writing "die die die die die" in the ground. :sd:
- Oh. Looks like someone might have saved you the trouble, Yuno... Poor Hinata. Oh well, she was dead once Mao implied they were lesbians. Anime hates lesbians.
- Yeeeeeeep. That's her arm. Well that sucks. Why can't they eat Kousaka instead? Although an arm is not an instant death or anything.
- So there's the diary owner who lent his diary. To this Aru kid obviously. And uhhhhh, was Hinata his daughter, what the fuck? Given how he's modified the dogs, I wonder if we'll see a robotic armed Hinata or something. >_>
- Also, Ishida Akira, his characters are almost always creeps.
- God Yukkii is dumb. Could he have been any more obvious in explaining how he did it?

I'd normally agree, one thing you absolutely cannot do, ever, is convey this sort of falsehood through internal monologues or scenes only the audience witnesses. Unless the character is insane and unaware of what they're doing, which wasn't the case here.
But, in this case I think her audience was Aru. He was nearby when the "body" was found and could have been watching all along, and Hinata could have known that, especially since he was her target. Granted that doesn't explain how she planted a fake dismembered arm while he was watching but I have a feeling the scene wasn't thought out quite that far.

Wow Hinata and Mao actually both managed to survive the episode. Tenth wasn't actually able to transfer ownership of the diary, so getting rid of a diary owner didn't require killing either of them. Though for a while it looked like they weren't going to be so lucky.
I'm so, so happy things turned out this way.
Oh, and Yuki said a huuuuuuuge lie to emotionally manipulate Yuno and save Hinata. Yeah, he's going to be fuuuuuuucked if she ever finds out that he lied. He better hope none of the remaining diary owners have some sort of mind reading diary.
And in the flashback in the beginning of the episode, Hinata randomly had a black eye. Kind of odd to just throw that in there like that. Since she didn't die here, I wonder if there's something more to that and it will come up at some point.

It was nice to see Minene get some focus, though it was.... odd. In a number of ways. The "Minene acts really girly" parts, the Murumuru voiceovers, "bomb proof" vests, and that our half-episode look into Minene's past is focusing on her fighting Third. The significance is obviously her first encounter with that guy that she thought she killed but who is now working for Kurusu, but still. I think its safe to say that her part of this episode wasn't in the main manga, but was taken from the "Mosaic" side story collection.
I'm a little annoyed at how Yuki was even thinking about just trying to tell Yuno that he lied, since he was clearly well aware of how deep that shit hole was when he decided to step in it in the previous episode. For him to even think about trying to just undo it so easily, aside from being monumentally, suicidally stupid, just doesn't really work.
On the bright side, I liked seeing the issue of the bodies in Yuno's house come up again and Yuki thinking about how things would have been different if he hadn't seen them.
It looks like Detective Kurusu has made his move to betray Yuno and Yukiteru. Well, maybe. I suppose it could turn out to be some way to protect them from another diary user. Doesn't seem likely though.
.....and that was totally Azusa (from Idolmaster) as the bride in the wedding poster.

- And that's that. Yukkii and Yuno are now fugitives.
- Hahahaha, so when did Minene become the comic relief character? :sd: Nurse Minene!
- Oh god what a clusterfuck of shifting alliances. Unless 4th and Minene planned it this many steps ahead, now Yuno and Yukkii are teamed with Minene...

Episode 12:
- Well, shit. Minene has all these plans for negotiation and 4th just says "fuck it" and sends in the SWAT.
- Who Yuno manages to take down because she's awesome. But now we're at a standoff. 4th has Yukkii, Yuno has a grenade.
- Meanwhile Minene reunites with cop guy. :sd:
- Yuno contemplating dying to take out 4th and save Yukkii?
- ...it was just a flashbang. I figured it was.
- Real bomb goes off, int he wreckage 4th gets a hold of Yuno and Yukkii gets a hold of a gun. Another standoff!
- Ooooooh, Yuno knew Yukkii was lying about saying she was his girlfriend.
- But THE POWER OF LOVE changes the future and stuff. 4th is gone.
- Now for breakfast cereal and stargazing! Everything is cleared up in the incredibly simplistic way that legal proceedings tend to unfold in anime, and our protagonists are back to living freely. They're going to visit Yukkii's dad to get a telescope for stargazing. I wonder if his dad is a diary owner >_>
- Aru is still trying to oppose Yuno. Stupid Aru, don't get in the way of love. Yuno is a good girl!
Underwear. Towels. Medicine. "Medicine". Human skulls. Your normal day trip luggage! <3 Yuno.

- Yuki, why are you so surprised! Of course, Yuno will always follow you!
- New school! What will happen in this one?
- Hinata have huge boobs!!
- Did they really have to do that gag there? Really???
- They entered the park really easily and no one seems to patrol in it.
- Yuno doesn’t like Yuki to have so many friends….then she writes DIE multiple times! How this will end?
- Yuki and friends run to Hinata…well Hinata body… they are too late. Well, I feel bad for her.
- Well, with the intro, Aru must be the new diary owner.
- “Funny Dogs”…that was not funny at all!
- So that is the guy who lent his diary…creepy!
- Why do you tell him about your diary Yuki…seriously???
- Wait, so a diary can be use by others???
- And Hinata is not dead and have a diary… And they confirm it Aru as well.

And Kurusu is out of the game. Because Yukki loves Yuno, apparently. Somehow that means his shot now hits Kurusu instead of Yuno. Okay. Not sure how that works. But then, I'm not sure how their diaries could be sure that he would hit her in the first place. Couldn't he just shoot more on Kurusu's side, knowing that the shot he would have taken on his own would hit Yuno? Maybe that's what he did, since the only other explanation is that he somehow knew that saying he loved Yuno would somehow reverse this somehow preset future. And Kurusu isn't wearing a bulletproof vest now? Did that really seem like a good time to take it off? Or maybe the power of love can render bulletproof vests useless. Well that wasn't what killed him anyway, although it was certainly an important factor. After being opposed by Ninth and Nishijima, he gives up and snaps his phone in half. Also, Yukki didn't actually kill that other cop he shot. And they're conveniently cleared of all charges without any real hassle. Now time for the date he promised Yuno, in return for... staying alive, I guess. They really seem like a real couple. Until he gets a text from Akise saying to stay away from Yuno, which makes her want to do some killing, and of course she deletes it before he can see it.
For as silly as this show can be, I really love it. That's part of the reason, actually. And there is still plenty of genuine suspense to keep me excited. So it's no favorite of mine, but it's always good fun.

Maybe that's what he did, since the only other explanation is that he somehow knew that saying he loved Yuno would somehow reverse this somehow preset future.
It's not just that he said he loved Yuno, it was the fact that he realized he had no choice and that they were going to die anyway if he didn't shoot. When he dropped his hesitation and decided that he had to shoot, the future changed.
I can see a scared, hesitant boy being less likely to make a tough shot than one who is utterly determined to save Yuno no matter what. And that's really all it takes for the future to change. A couple inches either way.
As for how the diary knows, well, the same way it knows any other fact of the future it predicts.

Fair enough. I can see that. Put that way, it does make more sense than plenty of stuff in this show that I give a pass to.
And yes, the diaries don't make any sense to begin with, but their use up to now has generally been to help their users determine what to do differently than their first instinct in order to change what would have been the future. So based on what the diary said, Yukiteru should have just figured that shooting more to the side of Kurusu might mean the right outcome. Or at least he shouldn't have completely given up hope, given that possibility. But I suppose in that situation, it can't be assumed that he'd be thinking entirely clearly.

- Aru will give his diary if she win the bet…there must be a catch isn’t it?
- So Aru doesn’t have a diary in the end! Good job Yuno, you are needed!
- Yuno…was stop by Aru? Wow…
- When Hinata asks Mao to leave she hugs her… which imply…
- ….that Mao will be a shield for Hinata!
- So in the end, it looks like it this impossible to lend a diary to someone else. Since no player can leave the game.
- Yuki try to understand for once….Yuno will follow you everywhere!
- So Yuno want to kill every girl Yuki could fall in love with…even lesbians!

- Voice OVER!!!
- Oh Mur Mur is reading manga! That’s the voice over!
- Hentai…This is my job…Hentai…This is my job!! LOL!
- Poor Minene…she should not have kicked it…
- Cosplay Minene! She looks nice and embarrassed so even cuter!
- And the inevitable happened!
- Yuki…I’m not sure you should tell the truth to Yuno about the fact you lied to her when you said she is your girlfriend…
- Oh MY GOD!! Yuno looks awesome, just beautiful in a wedding dress!
- What Aru is in Yuno’s home? It looks like he opened THE door…
- Need explanations here! A huge hole (probably with the bodies in?) Yuno lost a part of her memories?
- So she may have altered her memory to be more stable…
- And Kurusu made his move…
Well, in this episode, Yuki was dumb enough to “think” about telling her that he lied when he said she is her girlfriend, but was not dumb enough to tell her… And I like when he said: how would it be if I had not opened the door…
Great episode!

- And Yuno shot Kurusu, but his diary still functioning… which means he is still alive.
- Now Kurusu has his case I guess.
- Yuki shot someone! What a development!
- So Kurusu wanted Yuno to go out of control… That was his plan…and of course having a case
- KISS! Then they jump from the roof and escaped! They are now fugitive!

- Minene catches Yuki, was Kurusu’s wife a decoy?

So 4th only made an alliance with Yukiteru and Yuuno because he couldn't use his diary on them. And since Yukiteru was the person everyone was targetting, he was useful as bait for other diary users. And if one of them happened to kill Yukiteru and Yuno, so much the better for Fourth.

Wow, Yuno's aim with a pistol is ridiculous. Multiple shots straight through the throats of heavily armored SWAT team members.
"I hope they aren't dead"? Has Minene actually come to care about Yukiteru and Yuno? Or Yukiteru, at least, and I guess this isn't the first sign that she actually cares about him for some reason. We also saw that when she saved them after dealing with the kid back in episode 7-ish.
It turns out that Yuno knew (or at least suspected) that Yukiteru was lying about her being his girlfriend. And it seems Yukiteru has come to actually like Yuno so its not longer a lie anyway. I'm slightly disappointed that that issue was just nullified like that. I was looking forward to it exploding when Yuno found out. Oh well.
For a minute there, I thought Yukiteru had finally actually killed a diary holder directly (i.e. not with a dart through the diary). Alas, not quite. But at least he consciously chose to shoot with the intent to kill.
Yukiteru's father gets mentioned for the first time, when Yukiteru can't reach him for some reason. I'm trying to remember how many diary holders are left that we haven't met yet. I was thinking it was two, both of which couldn't possibly be his father, but now that I think about it, I think there might be a third that could be. I was remembering the guy with the yakuza punk hair (first on the left in the ED) and the weird short fat girl thing, but then when Yukiteru's dad was mentioned, I thought I remembered a bald guy with glasses that I'm pretty sure we haven't met yet, and sure enough, there is he is, fourth from the left in the ED.
..... Wait. I just counted 13 people in the ED lineup. Bald glasses guy, yakuza hair and wierd short freak have appeared as silhouettes. But there's a seemingly female one that's second from the left, right after Yakuza hair, that doesn't look familiar. Maybe its supposed to be Minene, but it seems odd to have her there twice

Yay, Mao and Hinata appear again! Annoyingly, it becomes very clear that Mao is the only gay one and Hinata likes Yukiteru. I should have known. Of course we can't have an actual lesbian couple in anime. Aargh.
The Murumuru/Mao post-credit scene was pretty funny though.
The episode ends with the most gloriously insane depiction of Yuno yet: Her sitting on a chair with her parents' skulls on each side, and Yukiteru tied to a chair across from her with dozens of the fake wedding photos taped to the wall behind him.
So Murumuru has been interfering with the game. Fourth wasn't supposed to die this early. And she makes a wager with Deus. Just who/what IS she? She certainly doesn't seem to be Deus's underling as she initially appeared to be.

Looks like Yukiteru is paying the price for going along with whatever Yuno wanted to do. Sure, he didn't always have much of a choice, but now he's basically just willingly being her boyfriend, and where does that get him? Incapacitated and tied to a chair while she prepares to kill the only friends he's ever made. And of course she's got the most disturbing grin on her face while he's in her underwear and next to the skulls, along with many copies of the fake wedding photo lining the walls.
The Mao and Hinata stuff was hilarious. I was totally wondering how she could have her phone underwater like that when it first happened.

- ...I have to say, I feel like I need to skim ep 12 again. It's not that Yuno needs a reason to be crazy, but this is pretty fucking out there even for her. I guess realizing just how close they were to dying made her snap (uh, more) and decide that it was time to do anything to protect Yuki.

- ...Kousaka becomes a diary owner. o_O Eighth!
- Kousaka's time to shine!! ...Um. He's still up against Yuno though. A very angry Yuno. :sd:
- Cleavage: a convenient cellphone docking station.
- Oh Kousaka. Your diary said you unlocked the door. It didn't say what happens after that.
- Woah, Yuno got bitchslapped. Now you know Yuki is pissed.

Ooooh, there was a third skeleton in that hole Yuno dug. A sibling? Some bizarre twist that its somehow Yuno herself?
I do think it's Yuno. When Akise asked who the third corpse was, we saw a brief glimpse of a raised axe and blood splatter. This is exactly the same as the second scene of episode one, where we see Yuno getting murdered. The killer is either wearing a mask, or isn't entirely human... it's this really fucking creepy weird face at any rate.
Repetition of events is one possibility. The very first scene is of a dead-looking Yuki in a ruined Deus chamber. He's surrounded by pill capsules and a bottle of 青酸, aka Prussic Acid aka hydrogen cyanide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_cyanide) with which to fill them. My take on this is that Yuno won the survival game, but because Yuki died (or killed himself), she's doing it all over with her power as god, this time protecting Yuki no matter the cost (sound familiar?).
The sequence of events is unclear though. The Yuno-being-murdered scene probably happens after the dead-Yuki scene. But what about those scenes in relation to the present day? It's possible the opening scenes are a flash forward, which leads us to the unpleasant but entirely realistic conclusion that the show ends with literally everyone, even Yuno, dead. A flash forward doesn't explain the third corpse though, so I still think the first two scenes happened before the series began. Obviously we're still missing some information.

I can never believe the shit they come up with, but it's hilarious, maybe more than it should be. I really hope Yuki doesn't decide it's a good idea to go back to pretending he loves Yuno. Sure, she's a great character and a lot of fun a lot of the time, but she really deserves some more of Yuki telling her to fuck off so that she can hopefully eventually start to learn a little bit from it. Obviously she acknowledges that Yuki has never really loved her, but I wish she would figure out what he really wants and stop being so selfish.
I wasn't expecting a new OP and ED after the past few episodes having the original one. I may have liked those ones a little bit better, but these are definitely another couple of solid choices.

<3 Mao so much. Her punching Kousaka (with such a smile on her face!) was hilarious.
Yukiteru's mother takes a really hands-off approach to parenting.

Whut. The woman is ALSO Seventh. That explains the extra person in the ED.
Rabu Rabu Nikii! They're a rather amusing care.
Um, yeah, if the battle is based on who's love is deper, you guys are soooooooo fucked. The glee on Yuno's face while she blocks the knives is adorable.
Oh, hey, Ai and Maru aren't completely terrible people. They went out of their way to not only save Mao and Hinata from dying a painful, fiery death but patch them up a bit.
And they actually defeat Yuno when she's in a Protect Yukkii frenzy
Wow, Ai and Maru are actually really likable characters. Actually, they're the least insane and least murderous people in the entire damn cast (with the exception of Kousaka and maaaaaaybe Akise, at least based on what we've seen of him so far).
And Minene returns! Fuck yeah, prostrate yourselves before the great Minene-sama! .... Why is a terrorist who slaughtered hundreds of innocent students a more likable person than the two leads and just one of the less terrible people in the cast to begin with? How fucked up does a show have to be for that to be the case?
I don't like the new ED as much as the first one, but its a decently nice one, certainly much better than the new OP.

- Yeah, let’s test if Ouji will die if we break his diary!
- I was scared for a second…but it was only Yuki’s mother that was in the house…well for now anyway.
- So Yuno made dinner…and left… What is her plan exactly?
- Of course, Yuno is there to save Yuki!
- Yuki…even if you ties up Yuno…that won’t stop her at all…
- So they are real diary users… Seventh!
- The plan failed…Yuno is unconscious… And Yuki and Yuno diaries were taken…
- Minene-sama is back!!! Woohoo!! Perfect!
Can’t wait for next episode…Minene-sama in action!

- Oh, new OP. I don't like the song much. Animation is okay but I'm a little miffed they just reused the best part of the first one instead of coming up with something better.
- Umm, wow, Yukkii. You just smashed his iBone. Even if you were pretty sure it wouldn't kill him, that's... cold. Not that I like the guy.
- Ahaha I love Mao. But once again, every second she spends on screen is a second closer to being brutally murdered. ;_;
- "Yuno could become my enemy?" Now ain't that the most terrifying realization you could have, Yukkii?
- Mom... being considerate of your son's privacy is fine. But I think you're being a little too lenient. :sd:
- Haha, oh god, Yuno cooked the meal. She was in his house and he didn't know it... that's a wonderful way of driving home how clueless they are to her plans.
- Kousaka's house has its own cellphone tower...
- Hahaha, Yuno makes her grand entrance again. Aww, what an angelic smile on her face. =D
- "Why am I tied up?", she asks so cheerfully.
- ...It's hard to take CROSS COUNTER guy seriously. Heh.
- Man... Yuno really is acting like nothing happened. That just makes it weirder.
- Yukkii! Trust Yuno! What has she ever done to make you mistrust her? ... ... ... ...Oh. Right. But but but... she's cute? >____> Oh fuck it you can't do shit by yourself, free her anyway.
- "Yukkii praised me!" ::happy happy murder time:: I LOVE YOU, YUNO. =D Oh god this is hilarious. She's going all jedi on these two.
- Awww. The loveydovey couple didn't want to hurt Mao and Hinata. How sweet.
- "Yukkii will love me again if I kill you!" >____>
- Their love was too strong. True love will not lose to one-sided love. Yukkii, it's all your fault for not giving the kind, pure Yuno the love she deserves. ;_;

- Haha, Minene becomes his babysitter. I'm going to be so depressed when she dies.
- XD! Dad is awesome.
- Ahhh, his parents are divorced.
- Awww. Mar and Ai are gonna get married.
- ...I love how this show becomes a goofy comedy every time Minene-sama arrives.
- Hahah, and now she's trolling Yukkii with dad.
- Oh I just love the little moments that say so much about Yuno. She's spying on Yukkii, happy to see he's having fun... ...and then you see she's been carrying a knife around ont he off chance she needed to cut a bitch.
- Minene's role in this show never ceases to amuse me. Now she's giving Yukkii life lessons based on her life experience... as a terrorist.
- And I totally ship Minene x Nishijima.
- Damn. Dad is an asshole who only wants Yuki for money. Granted, he doesn't know that his son's life is tied to that phone.
- Hahhaha, woooooow Yuno. Totally deadpan with two attempts to kill Yuki's dad right in front of him.
- See Yukkii, this is why you must always trust Yuno. Good girl, Yuno.
Nice cliffhanger.

- Awww. We start with the story of Mar and Ai's romantic history.
- What is up with high school girls in anime? They don't like yuor boyfriend's hairstyle, so they recruit some goons to rape you? Isn't that a little fucking excessive? I've seriously never understood this cliche. I know it's for shock value/emotional effect but I've seen it so many times that instead of feeling that way, I just get a bit annoyed at how over the top it is. Though I have to say it's not common for the rape to actually happen, like it very clearly did here, multiple times.
- It's Yuno, of course, who grabs Yukkii and saves him.
- I need to add that I really really like Yuno's current outfit. But she looks good in everything.
- Oh, and final showdown with seventh.
- o_O Mar caught Yuno's knife in his mouth and kicked her right in her wound. Ouch.
- Oh niiiiice, Yuno used the fake phone Mar created against him. =D
- Wait, so Yukkii gets mad at Yuno for killing Ai. But the intention all along was to destroy her diary... which would kill her. What the fuck, Yukkii, what were you expecting?
- Oh and dad is a jerk and steals the parachute.
- Now he's going to stab Yukkii's mom? Oh fuuuuuuck no, you so fucking better not >_<
- Fuck yes Mar is awesome. Yuno is the one planning to torture his wife until her screams draw him in to help... but it's Yukkii he bitches out for stopping her. And y'know, his reasoning is sound, in a twisted Mirai Nikki way.
- Mar understands Yuno! You're a good guy, Mar. ::wipes away a tear::
- And he did it all while IMPALED. Fucking... hardcore.
- DEAD END for Mar and Ai. ;_; They died an epic death. ::salutes::
- On the parachute ride down, Yukkii decides to talk things out with his parents. Start over. Set things straight. Which guarantees his mom will be dead when he hits the ground. ;_;
...Yep. ;____;

I'd been both anticipating and dreading this episode. Yuno, by far, is my favorite character in the series, but I'd love to have seen more of 7th. They work so well as a combo and this episode showed the potential that Yukkii and Yuno have, but aren't able to use.
7th played this game well, very well. Look back in 4/5, Ai's inside 6th's temple as one of her right-hand maidens. They've already infiltrated 8th's orphanage, and they just needed a little more time to find 11th. Outside of 3rd, 4th, and likely 9th, they had connections to everyone but 11th in this game at one point or another. Such a shame they got betrayed by another of 8th's minions.
For a little bit of reference, the rape bit wasn't in the manga. This was likely added to provide the reason why Marco stuck around Ai. It also allowed the show to focus on his huge weakness: his inability to save her. I would've preferred to see something like her getting injured in a fight he started, thus providing the impetus to become proficient with knives rather than the rape bit. It'd have the same effect with this story, but then it doesn't become accomplished by such a traumatic event in a real-life situation.

Somewhat related to this, the Murmur segments have ended. or the fansubbers started cutting it out, but I doubt that. This is totally the kind of thing that would have been explained through a goofy Murmur gag a couple episodes ago, with, like... Ai falling in love with Mar after he squished a bug or her. I guess after Yuno's epic lingerie skull kidnap dungeon funtime story, the tone got too (even more?) serious, or the just ran out of Murmur material.

Those segments are from the new parody manga (that finally got published in a volume recently), so that's why they're "extra." The rest of the Marco/Ai backstory was in the original source materials, so that's why it was included in the normal episode. There appears to be un-aired segments included with the BDs that aren't in the TV slots likely due to time. I've not had a chance to read the parody manga, but it ended last October, so all of it will be included it appears.

Minene becoming Yukiteru's personal trainer was pretty funny. Yay for lots of Minene.
Wait, Yukiteru's parents are divorced? Did this ever get mentioned before? I was figuring he was just a workaholic or overseas a lot or something.
Well that certainly wasn't how I expected to meet Yukiteru's father. So his father isn't a diary owner like I once suspected. He's just kind of an asshat.
HitokiriShadow
02-10-2012, 12:33 PM
It's only February, and I think someone has already one the Asshat Father of the Year award. In one episode, Yukiteru's father abandons him to die a tower and kills his mother when she finds out.
And Marco and Ai die, but that was hardly surprising. Diary owners have an episode life expectancy of 2-3 episodes (other than Minene and detective guy) and this was Marco and Ai's third and just in case you might have hoped they'd be an exception, the episode starts off with their backstory.
But its sad to see them go, since they're easily the most likable diary owners in the show and the only ones that really deserve to win. It's just a shame Marco didn't get the chance to yell that stuff at Yuno and Yuki (particularly Yuki) a bit sooner, when there were a few more people left. That said, Yuki *was* the one that actually dealt the finishing blow to at least two diary owners (the serial killer in episode 1 and Tsubaki in episode 3). Sure, it wasn't to their actual bodies, but he *did* kill them.
- Wait, so Yukkii gets mad at Yuno for killing Ai. But the intention all along was to destroy her diary... which would kill her. What the fuck, Yukkii, what were you expecting?
I think the plan was to *take* her diary and then somehow do the same to the other guy, but not actually kill them. That would at least be a temporary defeat without actually killing them.

I posted this in a blog comment:
Why weren’t THEY the main characters? Wouldn’t that have been awesome? A loving couple who survives this fucked up mess by sheer guts, determination and THE POWER OF LOVE.
The episodes where they confront a similar pair of diary holders, only to uncover that their love was a sham, a mixture of cowardice and insanity that only bore the most superficial resemblance to actual love. Ultimately defeating the insane woman and the coward who uses her insanity to keep his own hands clean.
Now THAT would be awesome!

Yes, thank you, Marco. You said everything that needed to be said about these pieces of shit we've been following throughout this story. Unfortunately, that's the end of him and his other half, while Yuki and Yuno continue to survive (obviously), and as with the other times characters have pointed out the faults of one of them, I don't really see them changing like they should. You can definitely see some of where Yuki got his faults in his dad, but his mom definitely balanced it out. And now, the horrible parent has killed one of the better people in the series. I'm sure Yuki will be the one who survives in the end, but at least his dad has to die soon. I hope they don't make me wait too long for that.

That was pretty perfect for Valentine's Day. It's pretty fucked up that his crush was a clone of his mom, though (way too Shinji/Rei here). I swear this show is more of a comedy every week. And it goes straight from Yuno's comedy antics to showing how fucked up her parents were, which was the reason she killed them, and surely a big part of why she's so fucked up herself. Speaking of terrible parents, Yuki's dad does die quickly, but somehow Yuki decides that his idea of post-murder "amends" somehow make it cool that he killed his mom, which had him ready for some patricide a few seconds before. Uh, okay. That was bullshit. And then he pulls a Yuno when faced with some enemies that call for it, and accepts that he has to kill the rest of the keepers, her included. That's clearly not going to be too easy for him, so not sure what's going to happen.

It's nice to see Yuki finally snap and start killing people, but why did it have to be over his ass-hat father? Yuki was waaaaaaaaay too forgiving. All his rage over his mother's murder just disappears when he sees the telescope. That's just wrong.
And so we were supposed to buy that he actually was turning himself in to the police? I was waiting for him to reveal that the telescope thing was a ploy to give him a chance to break Yuki's phone (or just outright kill him) and by all rights, that's how it *should* have played out.
We finally get the story on Yuno's parents. They were controlling, abusive assholes. It's little wonder that Yuno is a broken mess.

- Ah. It was an act, entirely directed out by Yuno. Yukkii is still the same old pathetic kid, supported in all things by Yuno.
- Minene has a pet squirrel. :sd:
- Hm. Yuno was adopted. Not yet sure what that tells us about the third corpse.
- And the 1st/2nd/8th coalition against 11th launches their operation.
- Which very quickly turns into Yukkii and Yuno slaughtering the 8th family. Hoooooly crap, Yuno looks incredible in that black dress. But she killed the cute little girl in the ninja outfit. ;_;
- Seriously. THAT DRESS. Holy shit.
- Such horrific CG cars...
- Yukkii and Yuno get the drop on 11th but... suddenly, clusterfuck! All the remaining diary owners are in the same place now. Minene with a grenade. Akise with the truth about the third corpse.
- And it's like I thought - the third corpse is Gasai Yuno.
What exactly that means, of course, is not yet clear. It could be multiple timeline craziness, or it could be a twin, or it could be that she really is an imposter. But the last brings up so many questions.
What we know is that in the first scene of the first episode someone kills Yuno. This explains how that could be the case... this Yuno, whoever she is, kills caged Yuno, presumably while wearing that creepy mask (or maybe its her real form). And this Yuno can't be a complete fake in her feelings for Yukkii (too many internal monologues) and she's been watching him since the show began so it's not like there was any switching places. Perhaps some entity kills Yuno and takes on her memories?
So who is she? 7 episodes to go.

WHAT THE FUCK?! Only in this show would this happen. It just gets crazier and crazier every episode, and all the Diary Holders left know the identities of the rest, leading them to all trying to kill each other in one crazy mess, and now just as Yuno is about to reduce the number to four, they drop a bomb, and not the kind Minene likes to drop, although she assisted. Maybe it's already at four? No, that wouldn't make any sense. So it was this one all along? It was transferred to her somehow? Why would any of this happen? How is she exactly the same person? What's her reason for doing that? When did the switch happen? Did we even know the real one? If there's one thing this show can do, it's make me wish I was watching the next episode immediately to find out what the fuck is going on. Because I sure as fuck have run out of guesses.

Loved Yuno's outfit in this ep though.

Yeah, its pretty bizarre for Yukiteru to care. She's obviously the person he's known this whole time regardless of what her real name is. And he knows she's a total psychopath, so who the fuck cares if she killed the original Yuno and is actually someone else?
And why the hell didn't they just shoot Eleventh right then and there? Why even bother with the "we win"? Even so, they should have shot him the second after they said that. Why stop just because other people were coming when they had him?

Oh good, his shock was just a feint to protect her.
Eleventh's Diary is incredibly hax. I think his diary is on his glasses somehow.
LOL Nishijima proposes to Minene. That's... some timing ya got there.
Ahahaha, Eighth is wearing her diary.
What the fuck, Nishijima.
Apparently Nishijima and Minene can teleport now.
Hmmm, since he apparently wasn't able to predict Nishijima's actions, maybe his diary only predicts the moves of other diary owners, probably based on their diaries. That would give him another motive to make everyone in the city a subordinate diary owner.
Something going on with Deus and Murumuru. Looks like Murumuru did something to push Eleventh along just like she did with the Detective. So Deus is going to do something. This should be fun.
Yay, Mao and Hinata get to join the fun again.
They all have diaries though, so if Eleventh gets things from other diary owners' diaries, they aren't going to be able to help much.
Apparently Minene was still carrying the squirrel around with her.
Yep, his diary seems to "peek" at other diaries.
Oh, so Deus wanted to use her. WTF, he killed- no, he didn't. What the hell did he just do?
WHAAAAT. Eleventh came up with the whole idea for the future diaries?! No wonder his diary is so overpowered.
Has anyone ever deathflagged as hard as Nishijima?
And there he goes. ... Er, not quite yet, I guess, but he's certainly not surviving the episode.
Bwahaha, Yuno gleefully mowing people down. Glad to see Yuno didn't feel a need to change out of that dress. And now she's got a katana. <3 Yuno

So...basically 11th is cheating, and then Deus does...something with Minene, and fuck if I know.
Oh yeah, and Nishijima proposes to Minene, and then gets killed. And Minene got her hand blown off but doesn't give a fuck because she's Boss like that.
And then Yuno with a Katana. WHY DID THIS NOT HAPPEN EARLIER?!
Oh, and it turns out that Yuki is not, in fact, a complete moron. Just mostly a moron, but his reaction to the Yuno revelation was, in fact, "so fucking what?"

I'm surprised they didn't go into more about who this "Yuno" is here. It seemed like the previous episode really set this up for that. Instead, most of the episode, until the very end, focuses on everyone else still alive. Eleventh basically turns the whole city into diary users and sees what their diaries say, along with all the real diary users. Because he came up with Future Diaries in the first place, and somehow Deus decided it was a good idea to use his idea and give him this super cheat power even though he's just one of the twelve in the game. Nishijima talked about getting married just enough to guarantee his immediate death. And Yuki and Yuno are back to show that they've become possibly the shittiest people left after Eleventh, but seemingly the most happy and successful.

Also, why does it matter at this point if Gasai Yuno is real or a fake? Seriously? On the scale of "shit that matters" thats like, so fucking what?
Yeah, its pretty bizarre for Yukiteru to care. She's obviously the person he's known this whole time regardless of what her real name is. And he knows she's a total psychopath, so who the fuck cares if she killed the original Yuno and is actually someone else?
And why the hell didn't they just shoot Eleventh right then and there? Why even bother with the "we win"? Even so, they should have shot him the second after they said that. Why stop just because other people were coming when they had him?
Yeah...it's not like Yukiteru ever known the "real" Yuno... About 11th, I do wonder as well...why just not shot him the first second? It's not like Yuno at all... She would kill him the first chance she had...

- It changes to see a confident Yukiteru, doesn’t it?
- Of course, Yukiteru was acting and Yuno was the director! Well, we can say he is a good actor...
- So that cop will guard the Mayor?
- Yuno was adopted??? Not by the best parents out there…
- Well, today cars have “electronic jamming” install! Cell doesn’t work anymore!
- That black dress is the best dress Yuno ever wear! Wow!!!
- I didn’t know Yuki could drive!
- Yuno reads… “identified the third body” that can’t be good…
- The third body belonged to Yuno! I want some explanations!
Best thing of that episode: Yuno black dress!

Episode 20:
- No drama from Yukkii for once. He accepts Yuno for who she is - whoever that happens to be. And I guess everyone just splits up after that.
- Poor Minene-sama. ;_; Eleventh seems to have her trapped. Escape, Minene! Escape and live! Man I hope this isn't where she dies. I know she'll die, the all surely will, but she better go out in an utterly epic blaze of glory or I will not be at all satisfied.
- HAHAHAHA, whaaaaaaaaaat. THIS SHOW. Nishijima proposes to Minene. XD
- Oh god this is so silly.
- Bwhahaha, Murmur pulls a "keikaku doori" face. Murmur is Deus is such an amusing thing going on on the side.
- ...Hinata, Mao and that one other guy are teaming up with Nishijima and Minene?
- Bwhahaha, Mao's diary is a diary all about Hinata's body. Mao sure picked the right girl if she likes big boobs. Oppai oppai ookiku nare!
- Oh lol another character remembered the whole "Minene blew up a school" thing.
- Pregnant squirrels make Minene blush.
- Some kind of exchange between Deus and Minene. Deus is gonna get Minene killed isn't he? ;_; There's no way she lasts beyond ep 21 at this rate.
- Oh, here's more of it. So 11th is not like the other players. He designed the future diaries, and worked with Deus to set the game up.
- 11th can read others' diaries, which is susceptible to having false entries made, and that's just what Minene is doing.
- Whelp. There goes another part of Minene. She'd down one hand, and Nichijima just got shot.
- Yukkii saves Minene. Man I really hope he doesn't kill her. Let her die while charging at 11th with a live grenade in her mouth, pushing him out the window of the high-rise and plummeting to the ground with him, and an awesome smirk plastered on her face as the timer hits zero.
- ...God Yuno's black dress is amazing beyond words. Especially when she's blowing people away with a machine gun, looking utterly overjoyed. =D
Minene makes it to 21 at least. I can't see a way out of that episode for her though.
Oh god, now Yukiteru is even using civilian hostages. A shame the show couldn't handle his transition to this better.
This Yukkii is definitely far more tolerable, but yes, it's a big change. But I think the scene after his tough act at the diary owner council with Deus explains it a bit: he's still scared, but he's accepting Yuno's scenario completely. He seems to take the lead but she's actually both the brains and the brawn, while he's the figurehead. What he has really improved in is keeping his cool and learning how to act. Which, yeah, is a bit hard to swallow initially.

So Minene finally goes...personally I was hoping they would show more of her backstory from the Mosaic side manga since that showed how she met Nishijima the first time, but this still worked pretty well regardless. Eleventh's death is hilariously anti-climatic but it does raise questions about Yuno's real identity and now the world is starting to end...
Current pacing has me assuming they'll be changing the manga's ending up a bit since they don't really need a full 5 episodes for what's left. Should be interesting to see how that goes.

There goes Minene. ;_;
Yuno put a bullet in Eleventh's head. Smiling happy Yuno and then bam, he's dead. No chit chat and posturing. It brings the Eleventh sub-plot to a somewhat abrupt end.
"Gasai is hiding something, including her true identity" Actually, I think she's being pretty honest about being Gasai Yuno. That *would* allow her to open that door after all. Though I guess Akise may not have heard or known the explanation, though I'm guessing he does know. And I guess "Gasai Yuno but not the one from this timeline/worldline/universe/whatever" could technically qualify as hiding her identity. He's certainly right not to trust her though.
Oh yeah, whatever happened to Deus's little plan with Mine- oh, what's that sound? Why is there a black orb coming out of the ceiling?
Er, why is Yuno including Eleventh and Ninth in the list? It should just be her and Eighth. His list of people to bring back includes Nishijima and they were just talking about Eighth and Akise, so this clearly is taking place after the Eleventh events.
Timespace bombs?
So it is part of Deus's plan, though how it relates to him stabbing Minene, I'm not sure. I'm guessing he put some of his life force in Minene or something. Or maybe this is separate. So does that mean whatever he was doing with Minene won't come to anything? Or maybe he still has a use for her....
And now Akise goes to Deus's chamber, using Eighth. Next episode should have a few interesting pieces of information. Well, hopefully. Assuming it doesn't delay showing us what comes of the Akise/Deus scene for another episode or two.

As for the episode itself it was pretty awesome. This was originally one of the weaker points in the manga so I was surprised at how well it was pulled off considering the anime has only done an average job of adapting the series up to this point for the most part.
Don't worry about the last few episodes though. They'll probably stretch/change the ending up a bit from the manga, but there's definently enough for 4 more episodes if they pace it right.

I didn't know how they were going to keep one-upping themselves in terms of over-the-top eventfulness in each episode after that last one, but they sure managed to keep it up this time. The last diary user in Yuki and Yuno's way is gone, along with anyone with a child diary. But then, pretty much everyone with a child diary was killed before she was. Kousaka turned Akise's diary into one at the beginning of the episode, which saved him from Deus, who turned out to be his creator, by showing that he had developed free will and therefore defeated Deus, but he also died, along with Kousaka and both of Yuki's other friends, although the latter three were courtesy of Yuki himself. To balance out the yuri from the two females in that group, Akise introduces some yaoi of his own with his love of Yuki, further fueling his death at Yuno's hands. But with another diary that was clearly a Future Diary destroyed in the process, it adds even more layers to the question of who this Yuno really is. Apparently Akise figures it out and manages to type it out on his phone and show Yuki just before being apparently completely decapitated, but we have to wait until the next episode to find out what the truth is. Assuming that we actually do find out then, that should be just as eventful, and make up the rest of the series.I'm very curious.

I knew that someone came from a previous Future Diary game since the show started but I didn't know who. When Akise showed up, I figured it was him, as I didn't think the first game necessarily had the same players. The third body having Yuno's DNA made it pretty clear it was her though.
I was not expecting it to take this long for that spoiler to come to light, particularly with the rate Diary owners were being killed off in the first half.
It would be nice to get a Cliff's Notes version of how things played out in the first world, since some of the Deus/MuruMuru scenes made it clear that some things were supposed to happen differently.

- The one who will rule the dying world is Murmur. Let’s see what it means exactly.
- The world will be destroyed July 28th.
- On July 27, Yuno and Yuki take a bath together… have sex…
- “This is actually the second incarnation of the world, Gasai Yuno has already become god and traveled through time” That was the message on Akise’s cellphone. Never would have guessed that...That makes Yuno wants to kill Yuki…
- Murmur pushed him in the hole, but he his now in a class. He is in the past…he will probably have an answer.
- Murmur is providing entertainment, it’s a way to put it… but Yuno sure don’t want him to see it…
- So Murmur explained, what is, the first and second incarnation of the world… In the first incarnation, Yuno and Yukiteru decided to die together after killing all the others…but Yuno survived or rather didn’t take the pills. She wanted to bring back Yuki to life…but we now know that is impossible…
- So Yuno from the first incarnation killed Yuno from the second incarnation… and the Yuno from the second incarnation was the one who promised to Yuki to become his bride…
- Why did she hear him even Murmur doesn’t understand…
They answered some questions I had…but now I have other questions… And 3 episodes left?

- Well anyway. Yuno's boobs suddenly shrunk for this scene.
- Poor Yuno! ;_; She just wants love. She's just a normal girl. ;_;
- GODDAMNIT HAVE SEX WITH HER. The poor girl has slaughtered a hundred people all to get laid and you won't stick it in her. You're so mean, Yuki.

- Finding out your girlfriend kept an axe under the pillow while you were fucking: unsettling.
- "It's going to be like that again?" Hello time loops.
- Oh now they bring up Akise's message.
- Yeppppp. Yuno became god the first time. And she recreated the world so she could do it all over and have Yukkii not die this time. But he knows the truth now (even if he doesnt believe it). SO she needs to kill him... so she can do it all over again, and get him to kill her this time. As many times as it takes. So, I was never directly spoiled about this, but I inferred it early based on various pieces of fanart and stuff the show said.

- Oh and can I say how happy I am that she's doing this whole thing in her lingerie?
- And then she goes and covers up. ;_; But this explains that outfit from the OP.
- AHAHAHAHAHAH WHAT!? Oh man, Deus did indeed put his essence or whatever into Minene, that has to be it. <3 <3 <3 Minene!

- Well, it’s nice that they take even more time to explain at the beginning of the episode.
- How did Yukiteru came back?
- He falls again…
- What? Minene saved him? She is back! Minene-sama!!! This is way too awesome!
- So they are 2 years back.
- Yeah, Yukiteru, this is not your world.
- You really should listen to Minene, Yukiteru. And stop being a moron…
Wow… Now we definitely need two more episodes. This was awesome. Minene-sama is back, for what else can I hope for?

Saving Yuno 3 from Yuno 1... geez, what a mess!
Yuno 1 sure is determined to kill Yukkii.
Murmur was annoying with dropping those spheres and being a nuisance.
So 9th is to Yukkii what Murmur is to Yuno.
Closing Yukkii into that sphere... probably saving him for last.

Ahahaha wow. That Minene/MurMur fight was awesome.
Also, nice to see that Yuno may be insane, but has a good grasp of her own and Yukiteru's pathologies.
I hope the ending is sufficiently insane.

Holy crap, I thought Minene's first fight against Murumuru was pretty nicely done and then it went completely nuts.
And it seems Yuno is completely insane. She still has a rational side capable of analyzing herself and Yukiteru.

And here we are, with just one episode left. I had no idea how they were going to fill up this much time a few episodes ago, but they sure have made them all worth it, and now I feel like one more episode is hardly enough. This episode was completely insane and the fights were fantastic, especially Minene vs. Murmur. I definitely liked seeing Yuno be delightfully insane but simultaneously acknowledging the simple facts that resulted in her and Yukiteru feeling that they "love" each other. I'm very curious to see how this completely fucking insane series manages to conclude itself at the end of the next episode.

- Oh…Yukiteru realizes that since his dead end is that Yuno will stab him, other attempts from Murumuru won’t work.
- Yukiteru is in an illusionary word…with all he wanted it seems. He can’t say “Yuno” name since she didn’t exist in that world…
- Wait, Murumuru had a seal? And now she is even more powerful.
- Yuki prefer normal girls? Not so sure about that one, illusionary Yukiteru father.
- Well, we sure had an incredible fight between Murumuru and Minene.
So, how insane will be the end? Will Minene be alive?

Well we're at the finale...pretty solid adaptation of it, Was sort of surprised they went with Yuki sitting alone in space thing though I suppose it was better than the hammer thing in the manga...and at least it was hinted Yuno managed to find him. Kind off odd having a (semi) happy ending here, but given the direction of the final arc a completely downer ending would have been odd.
I am curious what the "Next Project" will be though. Could be some kind of continuation since the "Future Chapter" from the manga was omitted or they could just be animating the Paradox side manga. I'll be checking it out either way.

Episode 25:
- Damn this is some good music right here.
- ...Holy shit this episode is just one unrelenting stretch of awesome. Amazing music, great action, EPIC MINENE-SAMA, hell even Yuki is being tolerable.
- Okay, so Yuno is going to seal Yuki in an imaginary world where she doesn't exist. But what good is that if she can't wipe his memories of her?
- Minene vs no-limiter Murmur!
- Maybe Yuno did seal Yuki's memories? Partially. Well in any case he remember her at least as a dream.
- Aww. Well, there was no way you were going to win, Minene, but good try! It was awesome having you back. <3
- And now Yuno is going to kill Yuno. Again.
What a fantastic episode. I'm impressed they put so much into a show that's for all intents and purposes an established sales failure. I hope the final episode is just as good...

Yuno 1 & Yuno 3 heart to heart talk was kinda nice.
Yukkii in his own little world... but not for long.
The third world's diary owners fate seems to have changed.
Yuno finally offed herself, about time her madness ended.
Yukkii won.
Guess everyone got their happy ending, well, almost everyone...

Episode 26:
- "When did I become this twisted?" Maybe when you were locked in a cage and starved by your lunatic parents?
- Man. Nothing can kill Minene. Not even death.
- Causality is going all to hell. Yay!
- 6th's parents aren't killed and a cult doesnt form.
- 5th's parents don't join the cult.
- 11th captures Idontrememberwhatnumberkillerteacherwas.
- Hinata's dad isn't a douchebag.
- And the mayor find out the game will kill him and convinces Deus to fidn another way to select god. Okay at this point it's just getting too contrived but there's no real good way to turn a show like this into an "everyone lives happily ever after" so this is serviceable enough.
- In the end, Yuno kills herself. Her end is a surprisingly sweet scene for the suicide of a murderous psychopath. Bye bye, Yuno. ;_; (Well, one of them.)
- AHAHAHAHAHA, I'll forgive all the contrived plot in the world for this: Minene, sitting at home, watching news about her other self, with her two babies and one hand. XD. Amazing image (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31857183/Screenshots/Shows/Mirai%20Nikki%20-%2026%20%5BGotSpeed%5D%5B12-56-18%5D.PNG).
- Oh and what the fuck I just realized one of the babies is flying. o_O she's totally still half god.
- Ai is pregnant!
- Yuno is happy. Yuki is dating that other chick. But something is missing for Yuno...
- Now there's a time skip. 10,000 years. Yuki is just kinda hanging out as god, doin' nothing. Murmur is bored.
- Haha whaaaaat, ED? ::checks runtime:: Ah there's some left after.
Post-ED:
- The future changes... "Yuno came to see me". "Yukkii..."
Next Project? As long as it's anime, fuck yeah. Don't care about live action or manga or whatnot. Somewhat surprising though, given how badly this has sold. Guess it boosted sales in other media.
In any case... who would have thought a happy ending to Mirai Nikki could feel so right? Great stuff.

This completely justified everything the show did. I don't care about anything else that happened, this was COMPLETELY AWESOME.
Minene's "Don't give a fuck" levels are off the chart, and its great.

Yay! Minene (2) gets her happy ending!
And happy endings for most of the third world's players, and some of them were rather amusing. The mayor ends up with the daycare lady while Murumuru (1) decides to live on Yuno (3)'s cellphone.
Well, the Kami-Yukiteru stuff was an odd note to end on but it was pretty good ending overall.

Uh, yeah, just noticed the floating baby myself. It didn't really register when I was watching the show. I kinda remember seeing it while watching but then immediately forgot about it until I saw that image. That scene was already pretty awesome, and that increases its awesomeness by about 300%.
In any case... who would have thought a happy ending to Mirai Nikki could feel so right? Great stuff.Indeed. I'm particularly impressed that it worked for me since my emotional investment in Yuki/Yuno had really dissipated in the latter half.

Anyway, I was suitably impressed with the way this show finished. There was so much potential for disaster here, but they managed to make it very satisfying.

It'll most likely be anime-related. There's a drama that will be airing shortly, but that's already been announced. They've hinted that a big announcement will be announced at the live event in July as well as previews for a 3rd OP/ED, so it's highly probable to be anime-related.
I've not checked sales of the manga on Oricon, but perhaps they've gotten a lot of sales for all volumes.

It's finally over. It feels like it's been running forever. The crazy plot twists at every turn could have something to do with that. I can't believe how well they ended up pulling it off in the end. There were most definitely problems throughout, but nothing that made it too bad, and they managed to rectify most of them in the end. I'm impressed. Obviously most of this finale was just too convenient for the sake of mostly happy endings that I wasn't really expecting, but considering how much crazy shit this show has pulled over the past half a year, my disbelief is in a permanent state of suspension at this point. The idea that there could be happy endings for more than one diary holder at all never crossed my mind as a possibility considering the very premise of the series, but multiple worlds will do that. It's kind of like Steins;Gate in that they only really focused on the world with the happiest ending, except there are three worlds that are all pretty clearly defined and separate, rather than infinite possibilities existing parallel to each other. I'm just glad the first Yuno killed herself. I heard the ending was a happy one, so I was worried that she may have gotten off without dying, but I'm glad to see that wasn't the case, and that she got as much redemption as she could deserve before she did so (and obviously sacrificing herself is the best thing she could have done at that point to begin with). And yes, that scene of Minene during the closing scenes was one of the greatest things in the entire series. So now the second Yukiteru is god, and Yuno has found some way to reach him. With a new project announced, I assume we'll see what that's all about. A movie seems the most likely to me, although an OVA is also a definite possibility. I look forward to it no matter what it is.
This is definitely the worst show to judge from the beginning of the series. Not that it makes a serious departure, but because you can never predict what will happen at any point. And overall, while I may have thought it looked a little more promising than it ended up being at first, I've come away pretty satisfied with just how much it managed to keep me guessing.
Series Grade: B

- How long Yukiteru will stay in that world?
- Wow, that discussion between Yuno and the 3rd incarnation Yuno was just intense.
- Now, Yukiteru feels again that he has something else to do and it can’t go with his parents.
- I knew it, Minene is still alive!
- Future sure is changing... Lot of differences compare to the previous world.
- Mayor realizes the game will kill him and wants Deus to select God another way and he convinces him.
- The parents are there for the 3rd incarnation of Yuno…
- Yukiteru remembers Yuno name.
- Yukiteru and Yuno meet again…
- Yuno kills herself. Wow, this is so intense.
- Love when Minene is watching her other incarnation on the TV. Funny!!
- 10,000 years later? Yuki still in love with Yuno.
Post-ED

Great ending...Minene got a good end (and god babies), so I'm happy.
How does someone spend 10,000 years in nothingness and not go crazy? Wait, the the world was still there when he went back...what happened since then?
Murmur keychain?
Yuno found a way to find Yuki? Okay.
New project? Minene and her god babies save the world!
