I need a few tv shows that I can watch while working out like something funny or action packed. I have only bought Black Jack and Monster off Itunes. I want something to put on my ipod.
I would really like to get a series I don't all ready have on dvd.
Recommendations and spoilers are fine.
Night raid 1931- I found this series pretty good but stopped mid through because of switching from Chinese to Japanese to Russian to English it got confusing. I wonder is the english dub version better?
Xam'd-this one also looked pretty good. Watching the first episode it is hilarious, the action is good and the animation is really well done.
Kiba- I have seen one episode is the rest worth getting?
Noein?
Canaan- the plot sounded good.
Ghost stories- It is a hilarious show but is it worth $30?
X-men anime- This one might be worth it; I am a big x-men fan the movies and the original animated series too.
Galaxy railways- Never watched it but sci fi action? MAYBE
Sengoku basara
Ride back- looked interesting.
Hero tales- have watched about 12 episodes of this really liked it.
Prince of Tennis- I like sports animes is this one worth it? MAYBE

I am for sure getting Nana after seeing all the episodes for that, but what other shows that are available on ITUNES are worth my time and money?

I really enjoyed Galaxy Railways. Have you seen any other Matsumoto works? If you like those, then you'll like this. I bought this and really enjoyed it.
I watched a lot of Prince of Tennis when it was streaming on the Cartoon Network site. It was rather entertaining. It's also interesting since it's a shonen show where the main character is already really good at what he does. Since it's a shonen show it's, of course, really long. Thus, IDK if you want to buy that.
Kekkaishi was ok, but I wouldn't really recommend buying it. I saw it on tv, and it was worth watching there, but not really worth owning.
I haven't seen anything else on your list.

Thank you so much for the info. What other animes has Matsumoto done?
I will have to watch Prince of Tennis first. I really liked Big Windup and Bamboo Blade as sport animes go. Haven't tried much else so trying to broaden my horizons with anime.

I thought Best Student Council was fine at the start but then went downhill when it kept expanding on itself and trying to treat the mystery behind the president so seriously.
Suzuka is a romance story, one that will frustrate you and cause you to stop caring for the main characters. After the initial heartbreak, the series kinda stretches, Yamato is stubborn and clueless, while Suzuka remains a bitchy throughout. Unfortunetly Suzuka's reason for this behavoior isn't explored until towards the end of the series, which is when it finally picks back up, but one doesn't really care anymore by that point. The manga's flow felt better balanced than how it was adapted in the anime.

So
No for Best student Council
No for Suzuka
No for Kekkaishi
Maybe for Galaxy Railways
Maybe for Prince of Tennis
Any others that are noteworthy or not? That are available via Itunes?

Matsumoto has done Captain Harlock, Queen Emeraldas, Galaxy Express 999, Arcadia of My Youth, and some other stuff. They are all kind of sort of in the same universe which I find interesting.
Since you posted the full list of Itunes anime, I'll recommend some more stuff.
Orphen - It's really old school. If you like Slayers, then you might like Orphen. I like the main character a lot in the series. It's a sword and sorcery style show. I rewatch it every now and then.
Ghost Hound - If you liked Serial Experiments Lain, then you will like this. It's a really spooky and atmospheric series with lots of techy and supernatural things. I really liked it.
Initial D - Do you like racing? This is shonen drift style racing. The character designs are super ugly and the cg cars are about on Gran Turismo 1 level. However, I still really love this show. It's just so suspenseful. If you don't like cars or racing, then you probably won't like it though.
Oh My Goddess - I've been reading this manga for about 15 years. It's a really fun romantic comedy. The author also really likes motorcycles and racing. He's always including stuff like that in the story and really knows his stuff. The main character is even part of a motor club at his college. The premise is that he's a normal college student who's life is pretty boring. Suddenly he gets a call from a beautiful goddess who wants to grant him a wish. He thinks it's just a joke since his sempais are always doings stuff like that. Thus, he wishes for her to stay with him forever. Hilarity ensues. It's actually got a lot of really touching and funny moments. It's not at all a harem series. I highly recommend it.
Hikaru no Go - This show is amazing. It's probably one of my top shonen shows ever. Who knew that the game of Go could be so exciting? lol I guarantee that you will want to play Go if you watch this anime, and you will have to watch all of it if you watch even a few episodes. The premise is that Hikaru finds an old Go board in his grandpa's attic that is possessed by the ghost of a master Go player. The ghost attaches himself to Hikaru and now Hikaru is suddenly amazing at Go. The ghost always wants him to play, but he thinks it's boring.
Noein - I hate this show enough to actually bother pointing out that no one should ever actually watch this show. lol
Well, I hope that helps. Let me know what you end up watching.

That's one hell of a long list, sooooo, I'll just comment on a few of best and/or worst or controversial.
Best Student Council - I liked the beginning, the middle and the end. I give it a big thumbs up for school age comedy.
Galaxy Railways - Only for those who really like Matsumoto's work. His stuff is very distinct and interesting, but it's one of those alternate universes where you either really like it or you don't! And half of the folks don't!
Mahoromatic - Nice little robot girl/maid anime. Lots of fun and very touching at times.
Tsukihime - Kinda ambivalent about this one. Liked some parts, not so much others. Can't make up my mind whether to keep it or not.
Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok - Better than expected. Silly plot and silly action but lots of fun. Just don't take it seriously.
Saiyuki - Just finished off the first 26 episodes. Enjoyable when it's a comedy episode, too angsty for my tastes when it's not and over half of the time it's dead serious. So you might or might not like it. For me, it's going to be a looooong time before I bother seeing the next 26 episodes in my backlog.
Chobits - Another robot girl series. Strangely it didn't interest me the first time I watched it, but it really did the second time. Go figure. Recommended if you like this genre.
Initial D - Highly recommended - I initally bought this just because I was getting bored of the usual stuff. You know, giant mech's, fantasy, school comedies, etc., etc. And I'm glad I did. It's great! If you love stuff like Bamboo Blade, Kenishi the mightiest disciple, Princess Nine, etc., then you'll really like this as well. It's the same sort of sports anime except with cars and it's addictive as hell. It's impossible to watch just one episode and I hate motorsports!!! Enough said?
Trigun - Too silly for me. Lots of folks like it though, so YMMV.
Fruits Basket - A great blend of comedy and seriousness. Very touching at times, I consider it one of the best series in my collection.
Gunslinger Girl - Very popular on the forum and very good video and audio. But too serious and depressing for me. I've watched the first volume, but I can't work up the strength to watch the 2nd and 3rd. If you like them dark and depressing though, it's highly recommended.
Ah My Goddess - A real classic. Both the tv and ova's are equally good. Recommended.
Black Blood Brothers - Not bad. Better than Tsukihime. If you like Hellsing, you should like this.
Coyote Ragtime - Great little space opera. Lots of action, humour and fun.
Whitchblade - Deadly serious. Liked the first half better than the last, but okay. In no big hurray to rewatch it though.
Moonphase - I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cutest little vampire you'll ever see, complete with lolli clothing and cat ears.
Noir - I really liked it but it's not for everyone. Very slow paced girls with guns anime. Madlax is similar. One of those series you either really like or you hate!
Ultra Maniac - Saw the first volume - BORING!
Chrono Crusade - Very interesting series set in the twenties. Dark at times but lots of comedy as well. Very touching ending.

You're welcome!
As for Initial D, your reaction is the same as mine, my nephew and everybody else I've ever shown it to. Nobody expects much, then it just drags you in! The last sports anime that had that effect on me was Princess Nine which sadly is now OOP.

No problem. It's always fun to see that someone likes something that I recommended.
If you want to see something morbidly funny, then you can check out Tokyopop's "tricked out" version of the first season. It's kind of something else. lol
Here is Tokyopop's version of the opening. It's almost as good as 4 Kids' One Piece rap opening. lol

Do you have to have these on iTunes? I think it might be cheaper to actually buy some of them physically and some of them are available for free on Hulu or are on Netflix.
Xam'd... I think this show starts out promising but overall it didn't deliver for me. There are good episodes scattered all throughout though. 3/5
Noein... I hate this show. I think that on paper, a one sentence description of the series sounds interesting but in execution it's really really bad. It's drenched in useless technobabble and none of the characters are particularly interesting. The fights look cool though. 2/5
Galaxy Railways... I purchased this but haven't watched it yet. I haven't been let down by a Leiji Matsumoto work so I give this the thumbs up based purely off of that.
Sengoku Basara... Dumb fun with high production values 3/5

Well some of them I wanted on Itunes bc itunes has that stupid protection thing that won't let you put DVDs that you have bought and put them on your ipod.. Sometimes I like Itunes and Apple other times they are dumb.

Yah, what Tokypop did to the English version was just criminal. Getting rid of the wonderful J-Pop soundtracks in favour of some god-awful rap music, screwing up the video and then boasting that it was a "tricked-out" version. Shudder........
It also didn't help that they took a 26 ep. series and stuck it on, count them nine bloody discs as well. Then put it in a digipak where every second disc is interleaved under the proceeding disc so you're constantly having to interchange them and then compounded it even more in a series where a race may take two to three episodes by making sure that virtually every race ends on the next disc! grrrrrr.........
Funi is definitely the way to go.
