Yeah, the manga where "zombie" is the key to romance is getting anime. I've read some of it and there is some potential in it. Forgot where I left off though.
Also, I kind of prefer the zombie stories like this over the "mindless horde" ones.

I never heard of this before, but from what I looked up, it does have some potential to be something. Certainly looks better on paper than other shows featuring zombies.

I'll probably watch it but the passionate, worldwide, lustful obsession for zombies in every imaginable form of popular entertainment continues to utterly, profoundly confound me. I just never understood the appeal, and never liked zombies of any kind all that much. There are exceptions like KoreZom but more often than not I find it a turnoff rather than reason to check something out. So if I like this it will likely be in spite of the zombies, not because.

I get the feeling some people just like the idea of hopeless situations which is what the "mindless horde" represents. Plus, they make for easy villains since all they're doing is going "brains" and moving forward.
That for me is part of the problem with them. They can come off as boring. That and to use a video game example, it would be like fighting nothing but Green Koopas in Super Mario Brothers, and never actually fighting Bowser.
I also absolutely despise the whole "It's because of a bio weapon" stuff that some series try to pull. It kind of ruins the whole supernatural angle that I'd expect.
I find the "zombie" works best when it's an actual character and doesn't look too much like a corpse. Although for me, it's not so much the concept of being a zombie, but the idea of being undead and having passed that stage of life. As well as how the character handles the consequences.
