Been enjoying Doublecast on my PSP during commutes lately, and I was wondering what other galge would be good.

Since I'm kind of a stickler for resolution, I'm mainly looking for games that weren't originally made for the PC and don't have a superior port on another system, which would appear to limit my choices pretty severely. Other than anime/manga/lightnovel tie-in games I guess, but I'd also be interested in some of those, like the Toradora game.

I'm also interested in games for the PS1 since it's easy enough for me to get a legit copy and put in on my PSP, although I'd kind of prefer something more modern after playing Doublecast.

Here are few I can name off the top of my head:

Steins;Gate
Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga nai Portable
Toradora
Chaos;Head
Memories Off: Yubikiri no Kioku

Ports that were originally on PC - (edited my post since I re-read your criteria).
Clannad (I think Tomoyo After was also released on the PSP...not 100% sure).
To Heart 2
Da Capo
Little Busters

For anime related VNs, there's also the upcoming Haganai game. And apparently there's going to be another OreImo game. Sadly, I don't have enough money to spare to get them myself.

It should be noted, however, that the OreImo and Haganai games do something unusual for the characters during conversation. They use moving character art instead of the usual static images, so you might want to check out some trailers or gameplay videos to see if it looks appealing or off-putting.

Not really interested in playing those on the PSP since their original versions or versions on non-portable systems will have much higher resolution, but thanks anyway.

I ended up getting Second Novel and Infinite Loop (both from Nipponichi), which don't seem to be very well known but they at least have some praise on the Amazon.co.jp reviews. Not sure how soon I'll get around to playing them, though. Also got the Galaxy Fraulen Yuna PSP collection, even though I already have the PCE originals.

Also thinking of getting One and Sister Princess for the PS1.

How do you load PS1 games to a PSP? And any PSP, or the newer download-only ones?

You just need custom firmware (and the PS1 copying software), and any PSP should be compatible since even the latest firmware can be jailbroken, IIRC. Google "custom firmware" and "ps1 on psp" and you should probably be able to find all the info you need.

That PAL-region exclusive new PSP should also be able to play PS1 games, I wish it was available in JP or the US since it has a sleek look and its screen apparently doesn't have the interlacing problems that the PSP-3000 has.
