Which Fall 2011 series will you import?

So, I was curious to know which Fall 2011 are you importing or you will import?

I'll be importing Shana III, Haganai and Maken-ki for Fall 2011. I might swing another show or two down the road, but those three are essentially fully pre-ordered already.

Well, I will import Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

I have three locks that have already been ordered:

1) Working'!!
2) Shakugan no Shana III
3) Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

Working and Shana have really crushed everything else from this season. Haganai I feel is ending way before it should (it's like we just got started and now it's practically over?) but hopefully we can get a second season. If there's a big gap between #2 and #3, there's a similar gap between #3 and the rest.

I can afford at least one more, I'm just not sure what it should be. Or if I should get two more. The shortlist used to be Fate, Ikamusume, Tamayura, and Mirai Nikki. Lately, Persona 4 has been tempting, and I'm half tempted to get the Horizon volume with ep 10 on it for one magical scene...

But I think I've knocked Fate and Persona off the list, because they're already selling ludicrously well and don't need my help. When I have a bunch of contenders and one of them doesn't immediately tower over the rest, that does become a factor. Might as well put the sale where it's needed if I like them all roughly the same.

The remaining shows (Ika, Tama, Nikki) are all wonderful shows looking to sell fairly low and could use the help.
- Ikamusume has the benefit of being a sequel to something I imported. I think it's in the lead right now.
- Tamayura is something I would just love to own, but that depends on if I get a fifth.
- Mirai Nikki will probably get knocked off because it's two cour. Yuno is one of the best characters of the season, but I'm not sure I want to add another 8-9 disc series when I'm getting Shana already, and I have a lot of one-cours I could get instead.

Four or five imports... I should really just go for five. Then I don't have to choose between Ika and Tamayura and feel like I missed out.

Ah... I was going to hold off voting until I decided, but I think I just convinced myself it's going to be Ika and Tamayura. So there you go, I'm getting 5 this season!

Fate/Zero and Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

They were two of my most anticipated shows and they've both delivered magnificently. Easily the best two shows of the season for me.

I wish I could afford to import Mirai Nikki (the third show I was highly anticipating and its only slightly below Fate and Haganai) as well, but I just really can't afford it.

Fate/Zero, Persona 4 and maybe Guilty Crown. Guilty Crown seems very unlikely but it has more of a chance than the rest.

Even after just 9 voters, we've got 12 different shows and not even one show bought by more than 4 of 9 voters. I'm slightly (though only just) surprised it's that spread out. But I'm not surprised by which two shows have 4 votes.

I'm getting Fate/Zero, Persona4, Horizon, Working', Haganai and possibly Ben-to. Would love to get Last Exile and Ika Musume too, but I have to cut off somewhere, so I'll probably get Ika Musume secondhand sometime down the track like I did with the first season. Fate/Zero was a guaranteed lock from day one and has been the show of the season for me.

Same thing for me too. If I had money to spend, Tamayura would likely be the only one. Don't think there's much that's collection-worthy from this season though there's a few I enjoyed a good bit. Ikamusume and Haganai I like enough to be rather certain buys if they get domestic releases (which is fairly likely), and I hope Ben-to gets licensed. The rest I'm fine with just watching online.

Third for Tamayura. Unfortunately I don't have the availability nor the funds to import anything, but this series is definitely worth it. Season 2 of Ikamusume would be my second choice, but like you said her chances of getting a domestic release look pretty good, way better than Tamayura.

Same here. Even if I could afford a second one as well, that would probably be my only choice this season. There are a few others that I'll get given a cheap US BD release lacking notable problems; anything I'm sticking with to the end, I imagine, barring any unforgivably terrible endings.

Well, I don't agree. This poll was not made to know how many people do not import or how many people will not import this season. What I do want to know is what series people will import from Japan this season. So the addition of "None of the above" is useless.

But this poll does not care about the opinion of someone who does not import, because the omission is entirely intentional. It's not exactly surprising that most people do not import, so we don't need the poll clogged up with people who have nothing to say on the matter. There's a total number of people who voted is listed - we know what kind of sample size we're working with and clearly it's a minority of the site's membership.

This is an internet poll with a very specific focus in mind, not the latest presidential polling from Gallup/Pew. Nobody is going to use this data to claim that 42.86% of visitors to mania.com are importing Haganai, for example.

The only option I might have added is "I do usually import but am not importing anything from this specific season", but since there's no way to limit only importers to voting, just focusing on votes rather than non-votes is the better alternative.
