Madoka, always prepared to help girls in NEED.
Someone stole your uniform, Madoka...a girl?
OP is nice. I like the song.
Jersey club? Sweats club? Wha?
Madoka = girl magnet.
Did she just pull a ball out of her pantsu?
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!
Oh, so she had your uniform, Madoka. She was probably sniffing it and trying it on--why did she have it anyway? It isn't explained.
Madoka's onee-chan loves to strip her sister.
Whoa, whoa, whoa Madoka's onee-chan Yoko. You have the wrong anime. Puella Magica Shoujo Madoka was last winter.
Woof!
Holding hands? YES.
Comrade? Is that the new yuri slang?
Pilot a robot?
Evil boys! Oh, I get it. It's boys vs. girls! BL vs. GL! Silly boys, don't you know that yuri is the most powerful force in the universe?
"I won't let Madoka become a magical girl...I mean pilot a robot!" Keep saying that...HomuYoko.
And after I pilot this robot, Len, we're going on a DATEO!
German SUPLEX! Hhahahaha...this show is so awesome. Madoka is awesome. OP is awesome. ED is awesome.
Loving wife bento? Madoka and Len got married after the show? Girls move fast nowadays. Dateo...then married.

I'm not sure if this will be a show that appeals to me in the long run, but the first episode was pretty entertaining. I like Madoka's cute, fun, energetic personality, and it's nice to have a "forced into a robot" situation without the extreme angst. Hopefully her interactions with Lan will be nice too.

Pretty decent start. Madoka comes off as a likeable lead and while it would have been nice for her to slightly question being asked to pilot a robot, I am getting a bit tired of that cliche so it doesn;t bother me too much, and it fit in with her personality.

At the moment though it;s hard to say whether this will be a serious mecha series or a fanservice fest with a slight attempt on plot. The writer and the fact that I.G. came up with the concept makes me hopeful of the former but with XEBEC doing the animation I do expect them to throw in fanservice whenever they can...

Maru!

Wow, Madoka is something else. She's so...so...CONFIDENT.

Lan is pretty entertaining, she's definitely a bit odd though. Can't wait to meet the busty one.

Oh, and Madoka? YOU ARE TOTALLY LAN'S WIFE

Mecha show with an all female main cast? Yes please!

And its off to fantastic start. Madoka is a ton of fun, and she ends the episode by pulling off a freaking giant robot suplex. Maru!

And Lan is a decently amusing deadpan girl.

Both of them are being voiced by newbies too, each with only one or two notable roles prior to this season. Kayano Ai voices the third main girl, but she didn't appear in this episode. She was the one seiyuu I knew was in this show for some reason, and I kept waiting for her character to show up. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised by Noto Mamiko appearing as Madoka's sister.

Oh, and this is the one fanservicey show this season that's actually doing it right.

Oh, so she had your uniform, Madoka. She was probably sniffing it and trying it on--why did she have it anyway? It isn't explained.

It was explained, actually. Madoka dropped her clothes, so Lan was returning them to Madoka. And clothes are meant to be worn, so... what else was Lan supposed to do with them in the meantime? Just fold them up and put them in a bag or something?

-Bird. Skirt. Ocean. Clap. Let the action begin. Strip!
-I don't think sweat pants would huge her ass that much guys. Even if she's still half wet.
-TAPES!? Who has a camera that still needs TAPES?
-I just saw a girl playing tennis pull a spare ball out from under her skirt... I don't think panties work that way anime.
-Madoka is attracted to girls who steal her clothes?
-Wtf? Was her sister just checking her for a tail or something?
-The skirt bandit is back! And ready for a deep swim. *wink*
-Madoka excels at all sports, but isn't that bright.

-Ooh. I really like the CG lunar surface effect. Not so much the DVD announcement crawling along with the space ship.
-Extraterrestrial brooding boy band?
-*robot stuff* Squee.

Given the other things Madoka was doing in the episode, my main thought was "Well, piloting a giant robot is just one more thing to do" In any case, Madoka is awesome. That's the clear message this episode gave.

For some reason I couldn't bring myself to care about this too much. It's not bad, and it's plenty fun, but I don't see it offering anything new. I'm sure I'll continue to watch it, though. It's certainly at least a little enjoyable most of the time.

Sort of silly and I'm not too fond of mecha, but Madoka is a lot of fun and the mix of the three girls could be interesting.

Madoka continues to be a really fun and highly likable lead.

Lan continues to be very serious and sullen with the occasional amusing moments. Wan! And she has some sort of issues with the machines that seems to render her incapable of piloting them for the time being.

Muginami appears. Muginami escapes. But the ~3 lines she had were absolutely hilarious.

Noto Mamiko screaming was highly amusing too.

Look out, everyone,,,Mamiko Noto is FUCKING PISSED OFF. I'm scared guys.
The way Muginami's hand fell to her side is just plain weird (and her hands moving back and forth when she has them at her sides). She be made up of rubber. And for some reason, she was barefoot.

I shall approve of the outfit that Madoka ends up wearing. I also like what we see of Muginami. I want to more of her and her talents.

Well, that's one way to end the episode. Let's root for Madoka.

The talk about the enemy needing "Madoka" in order to use the robot begs the question.

Will she be brainwashed? Will she willingly switch sides? Will the enemy find a way to use the robot without her? Will they just never get control of it?

Episode 1:

- Hah. Now that's a character introduction.
- Interesting OP.
- Ahahaha I knew she was going to be uniform-less.

- Maru time. I had to try this show at least to see that, since Maru Madoka seems to have succeeded Moppy as livedoor anime sales thread ascii art mascot. Had to see what that was all about!
- Man who is voicing Madoka, I love her... ah Ishihara Kaori, the less famous of the (Ogura)Yui/Kaori pair. Very few roles. Promising voice, there's a touch of another Kaori in there, Mizuhashi Kaori.
- Kendo. Reminds me I need to continue rewatching Bamboo Blade, argh I have no time for anything.
- Why hello there mysterious girl who wears other girls' clothes! Madoka seemed quite taken by her...

- Cousin girl is Noto Mamiko!
- "Take off your panties." o_O
- Well that was suspicious.

- Homerun-maru!
- Oh wow, that is a nice shower scene. Like, really really nice. The water effect used works well. (Also, totally nipple behind there)
- Ahahaha, Lan was just staring at naked Madoka. I can certainly understand.
- Hmm, Seto Asami. Yoshino in Hourou, Chihaya in Chihayafuru. Also promising.
- Yeah, Lan. Let's go with that. Heck of a lot easier than Fin E Ld Si Laffinty.
- Oh and by the way, pilot some robots for me. Thx.

- Errrrrrrrrrrgh, that CG. The shinyness just makes it worse, guys. Especially against the somewhat muted colors of the 2D art. Siiiiiigh.
- Haha this is something of a surreal moment. Madoka just stands there with a weird look on her face and one hand in a pocket. Lan is emotionless. And missiles are going everywhere. :sd:
- Ahahaha suplex! "One... two... three! Maru!" XD

Well I didn't expect this for an ED. Huh.

"Aisai bentou?" Hahahha! Oh god yes, Lan.

Normally the fact that there are three female protagonist pilots and three male antagonist pilots (who are clearly not actually evil and will be redeemed and blahblahblah), would set off big flashing warning lights saying "shitty forced romance incoming!". But Satou has already gone on record as saying he intends there to be no focus on romance in Rinne. As long as I can keep shipping Madoka and Lan in my head, I think I'm going to like this show very much.

Episode 2:

- Awww... Lan was the previous pilot of the Vox Aura and fro the hints that have been dropped, was pretty terrible at t.
- Yes, Madoka. You got suckered in. You have about 23 episodes to go!
- Really though, what kind of super advanced alien mech gets taken out by a single suplex?

- Hahahah Muginami's voice... Kayano Ai seems like she's on her way to being as versatile as Kotobuki Minako.
- Madoka, you're awesome, but kind of dumb. Muginami just played her so har, haha.
- Lan has such a nice butt.
- And I really, really appreciate that Lan's first reaction is not utterly baseless animosity towards Madoka, but rather regret that she has to force Madoka into this role in the first place. This is a far better character dynamic.

- Oh hell yes, very nice that parts of the pilot suit go transparent. =D And in some very nice places... yay partial sideboob! And I love how the bottom is a skirt. This show is fucking masterful at fanservice so far.
- "The whole planet? I've never even been to Tokyo!" Hahahahahaha
- Ah, Lan's suit is similar to Madoka's in pilot mode.

- "Where are you right now?" "...Inside a robot." XD
- There is something surreal, and completely awesome, about Madoka having a relaxed chat on her cell phone from inside the robot, in the middle of a battle.
- HAHAH Holy shit, Mamiko! XD
- Well it worked. =D

Heh, end card: Maru+Wan! Next time, go go Lan!

Why do I have a feeling that that legend will end up being not quite entirely accurate?

Anyway, Madoka's methods to prevent damage to Kamogawa were pretty entertaining, as was her hitting the flying vending machine, followed up by MARU!

- I was wondering when the heck the townspeople would notice (or we'd be showing them noticing) the flying robots. As if the island-sized ship in their harbor wasn't noticeable enough.
- HAHHAHA! She didn't stop it at all. It's just that it didn't hurt her. XD
- Madoka is hilarious. She just starts telling this alien invader off. XD
- Heh, she's so careful not to destroy the town. You're a good girl, Madoka.

- C'mon Lan, get in the Vox!
- There you go. Good girl.

- Hahah, meanwhile Madoka continues to selectively choose where she's going to crash. The store may be out of business, Madoka, but the real estate owners might not be too happy. :sd:
- Bwahaha she tried to catch it again. Madoka you are adorable.
- Oh god, Kirius is taking her seriously. XD
- HAHAHAHA vending machine, home run!
- "Did that robot just Maru us?" Rinne is one of the best comedies of the season. Wait a second...
- Singing her club song while fighting. Madoka you're awesome.

- Yessssss, Madoka and Lan share a moment in the middle of the battle. =D

OK, this show is a whole lot more fun than it probably should be. It's solidly inferior in most respects to some of the others that I'm watching, but it's also just a heck of a lot of fun. It doesn't hurt that it comes out on Sundays where I don't have much else to watch. :P

Madoka is great... I loved the look on her classmates' faces when she Maru'd with the robot. Her opponent trying to find a logical reason for all of her actions was also a riot.

Needs more Mugi though, but it looks like that will be rectified next time.

And... Orca??? Midori made sense, but Lan's naming scheme is more questionable than even mine at times...

Alright, I guess I'm in this one for the long haul. It's not great by any means, but it's still loads of fun. Madoka is just a really fun character. Some of her overly spunky behavior got a little annoying to me at times, but for the most part I could appreciate it. The best part was definitely the last-second vending machine home run complete with a Maru to her classmates, all inside the robot.

-Aha. AHAHAHHAHAHA! Oh Madoka. You are adorably energetic to think that old samurai movie sword catching trick would work.
-Holy shit she knows everything about this town and everyone who lives in it.

-Madoka will fall for the same trick twice. But that doesn't mean it can ever stop her.
-Madoka is the perfect super hero. Maru~

Bwahaha, now Madoka tries to use a powerline to choke an enemy, uses a light pole as a baseball bat to stop a vending machine from hitting her friends, and starts singing her club's theme song during battle. And she reveals herself to her friends with a giant robot "Maru!".

Lan gets over her issues and activates her Vox, so she doesn't have to just sit on the sidelines any more. Her effectively using the technique Madoka had been attempting was a pretty cool way to do the rescue. And "Wan!" returns, much to my pleasure.

I wonder if Muginami will have her own quirky catchphrase.

I hope Lan tells Madoka about the legend that was causing her so much angst ASAP next time. I can understand why she didn't bring that up during battle and why after finishing a life and death battle, it may no longer have been at the top of her mind or have seemed like a good idea to bring up right away. But if she feels as bad about it as she seems to and would get in the Vox to apologize to her, it would be odd for her to not tell Madoka about it pretty soon.

Muginami is awesome in a devious "I'm playing around, but know what I'm doing, maybe" kind of way.

Genjuurou, what are you doing here? Symphogear is over that way.

Muginami desu! Muginami desu! Muginami desu! Muginami desu!

Apparently entered the Vox hanger completely naked. This warrants further investigation.

"Our school regulation doesn't say our students are allowed to fight inside a giant robot!" "It doesn't say they can't either." LOL

So Lan is the princess of Le Gerite. Not exactly a huge shock with whatshisname calling her Ojou-sama repeatedly.

Muginmai's first reaction to seeing the princess of her (I assume) planet is to go pull a prank on her by flipping her boat.

Lan is not having a good day. First she almost drowns, and then the girl that did it to her is running off with her girlfriend.

"Join my club! If you do, I'll tell you what the club does!"

Lan's day gets worse. Now she has to overhear her girlfriend confess to the girl that tried to drown her.

Muginami is good for business. Random guy's girlfriend angrily staring at him while he ogles Muginami was an amusing touch.

Lan.... is not good for business. But she's a lot funnier to watch. Especially Madoka's reaction to it. Okay, I guess she has her own ways of attracting customers.

Oh god, Lan's despair face when she hears Madoka ask Muginami to live with her is hilarious.

Two transfer students in one episode! Lan's self introduction is hilarious. "Wan. I'm Lan. I'm joining your club. (And by the way, I'm living with you too.) Wan." All in her standard monotone way of talking.

So yeah, Rinne no Lagrange is now officially an all-girl harem show.

Usually its three or four (though it has to hit two first, usually), but I think three (the lead plus two) is enough when they're living together. There is no definition for harem. Trying to make one will give you a headache and likely result in lots of arguing.

I'm giving her a break on this. Sounds like she lead a rough life till she met Lord whatisname and she's got a serious case of hero-worship. Her attitude towards the girls is one of "everything has to turn to shit eventually so let's enjoy what little time we have together even if we have to be enemies eventually." If her life was like I'm thinking it was and with her personality, that would explain how she came to that philosophy. Really sad if that's all that she can look forward to.

I still can't figure out who's the good/bad/ugly sides in this.
Was that real or was "Onniichan" using that to infiltrate them? Or did he just want to get her out of his "gang" for her own good? I'm leaning toward the latter. That sudden change of attitude seemed too calculated to me. And why would he leave them with another possible Vox pilot?

Episode 5:

- Lan flashback! She was so cute... And talkative. So guy in her flashback is now the big bad guy now?

- Mugi's chair is knocked over...
- Muginami(desu!)'s cookign gets a quintuple maru!
- Hahah, wooooooow she is guilt tripping the hell out of Lan.
- This is the best lover triangle ever.

- Lan is bad at baseball.
- Lan, even if you're right about Muginami, there's no way you'll convince Madoka like this.
- She's still going to try to keep Muginami(desu!) and Madoka apart though.

- Madoka's uncle is getting friendly with the bad guy. >_>
- Bad guy seems pretty fun.
- Lan challenges Muginami, and Muginami reveals that she had sex with a Vox. Naughty.
- Hm. Muginami seems pretty firmly on the side of the bad guy (her onii-chan no doubt) right now. Wonder what will change that.

- Oh. Well that would do it. Muginami~~ ;_;

Now the question is, did he do that to protect her and let her get herself away from the war? Normally I wouldn't think so at all, but he gave her a look as he left that didn't look like true contempt to me. Hmmmmm.

That's exactly how I'm expecting it to play out. There's got to be something more fundamentally wrong with Muginami than we seen so far. I don't think it's just a case of her being a bitch... she's just got a twisted concept of friendship, and there has to be a reason.

Ahahaha, oh wow. Muginami spent several minutes being the amusingly, happily villainous... and then Villagiulio verbally and emotionally mauls her with no warning, abandoning her and leaving her in tears. Oh, and with the people she was being a total bitch to just two minutes earlier.

Looks like Villagiulio had some other motive for doing that to Muginami though. That glance he made while he left made it pretty clear he didn't enjoy what he had just done to her. So why did he do it?

The pre-OP flashback scene of Lan and Villagiulio was very weird and made little sense. Why were they both called each other "-sama"? Why does Lan have to ask him about her own brother? Why wouldn't she know? And if her brother is supposed to be the next king of La Gerite, why is he fighting for De Metrio?

I've come to the conclusion that she is so innocent and naive that she had no clue that her remarks would be taken negatively. Even if her intent wasn't honest, I think her feelings are. There's not a drop of real evil in her.

I think the situation revolves around Vox being a danger. It looks like Villagiulio may have turned against Lan's side because of that.

Oh, I know. I struggled to find good words to describe the way she was behaving. I specifically avoided "evil". "bitch" and "villainous" weren't much better, but its the best I could come up with. And it was more about effect than intent. Regardless of what she intended (but I do think there was at least some intent to be hurtful to some degree, she just may not have understood how deep her words were cutting), the effect of what she was saying was cruel.

For the general war against Lan's group, sure. But I don't think he would have gone that far with Muginami, and then made that pained expression, just for that. Especially when he could have just said that that was the reason. "Sorry, you're contracted with the Vox now, so that makes you our enemy." But he didn't. He ripped into her, aiming for maximum emotional trauma, citing all sorts of personal flaws as his reasons for abandoning her. He mentioned the Vox, but only in a way that made it sound like he was upset that he couldn't use it himself because she Memoria'd it.

My thought was something along the lines of what maehara said on the other forums, that its related to her twisted concept of friendship and that he recognizes that she's rather broken. The main problem with that is that he's not only leaving her with their enemies, but she would obviously become another enemy for him to fight as well. But I guess if he thinks A) they can still defeat them and B) do it without killing them, then it makes some sense. Still seems like a questionable way to fix her friendship issues since it significantly hurts their own odds in the war, so I think there must be something more to id.

I saw it as Villagiulio, after listening to Muginami's rationalization for her actions, realized that she did not compare well at all with either Lan or Madoka. The former he had known as a child and the latter with whom he was obviously impressed, even though he had only known her for a short time.

Muginami's speach seemed very shallow, insincere and devoid of conviction, which was very much the opposite of Madoka and Lan's core personalities. Even though Madoka and Lan outwardly obviously have very different personalities, they are both very sincere and principled (although Lan really should tell Madoka about the Vox legend soon. ).

In the flashback Villagiulio, definitely seemed like a person who admired people with strong principles, and I think he felt responsible for Muginami being woefully inadequate in that area. Probably because of the environment she's been around since she's been living with him.

His snapping at Muginami was clearly staged on his part IMO, to give her a chance to learn from Madoka and Lan how to be a better person. He had to appear vicious, in order to ensure that Muginami would not think returning with him was even a remote possibility.

The purpose of his act was not only to convince Muginami, but also to convince Madoka as well. He knew that Madoka would not stand for what she would perceive as his gross mistreatment of Muginami and she would take her in, even with everything that Muginami had said previously.

Putting his altruistic motives aside though, as everyone else has mentioned, now he will have to fight against 3 voxes instead of two. Athough, if he were actually even partially upset about Muginami pairing with the vox, I personally think it was more out of concern for her than anger of her depriving him of it. So does he really care that much about Muginami that he will risk losing, or as you said, does he feel he can still win without killing the girls? Perhaps, his former principles were bothering him, and he thought that he could not continue to fight in a way that would also result in Muginami permanently remaining what she revealed herself to be by her speech - a seemingly shallow person who lacks the capacity to care.

Considering the general tone of the show so far, unless it takes an unexpected dark turn, I'm sure Madoka will figure out something in the end. :)

Well, the Rinne in the title is written 輪廻, which refers to Samsara (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sa%E1%B9%83s%C4%81ra_%28Buddhism%29), the endless cycle (MARU!) of life and death in Buddhism. The Lagrange has to refer to Lagrangian points (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagrangian_point).

Put them together, and the concept may revolve around attaining a point of (emotional, gravitational, mental) equilibrium in that endless cycle. That point being, essentially, Nirvana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nirvana).

There will no doubt be ample philsophibabble in the second cour about this.

Yeah, he's probably the main failing of the show so far. He's not necessarily that bad a character, but he's way too obvious a villain. Obviously someone had to be because it was obvious the boys weren't truly evil, but Moid isn't even trying to hide it.

Not that I expected much else from a closed-eyes smug-faced knows-it-all-but-unconvincingly-plays-dumb character type. About the only way they could have made it more obvious was to have him be voiced by Ishida Akira.

Gotta love pre-planned 2-ep-a-disc split cour shows. The latest way to abuse otaku wallets. Because Lagrange is therefore a 12 disc show, and you know there's very very little chance they would have solicited it as 12 volumes if it aired two consecutive cour. But split it with one season in between and voila, you can tack on 3-4 extra discs! It's definitely one way for them to make as much ¥/ep on a two cour show as they regularly do for one cour.

Meanwhile, Mouretsu Pirates is only 7 discs for 26 episodes, at only ¥6615/disc (¥7665 for v4 and v7) for the LE BD. Or ¥48,400 total vs ¥75,600 for Lagrange, which will probably have 1-2 less eps. I bet Lagrange would have been about ¥7140*9 max if both cour aired consecutively.

Surprisingly, they managed to fit in some dark backstory content as well, as another element in their attempt to make you go from possibly hating Muginami to accepting her as the proper third point in this yuri triangle. Asteria is quite amusing. Poor Wan-chan.... we hardly knew you.

Um... did the Jersey Club get accidentally teleported into Mawaru Penguindrum?

Asteria gets along well with Onee-chan, likes throwing the Commander off-balance... and hardly says a word to Moid. Works for me. Except for grounding Midori... that wasn't nice. The protest against it was however- but something is of course right, that won't even begin to last... but it remains to be seen whether it will be against Bonjoivi or another threat- like Darth Moid and Emperor Hologram.

HAAHAHAHAA Wow, they really pulled off a 'hiding in plain sight' with the escaped enemy pilot perfectly- NOBODY would have thought he was the maid following Asteria around. I guess that answers exactly how he was released... but I'm surprised that he didn't fly back to his comrades. I wonder if his mech was pre-programmed to fly to Asteria...

So, we have an ancient legend where the advanced civilization that Mugi and Lan are from that was originally on Earth was destroyed by the Vox. Madoka is disappointed that she HASN'T actually been getting it on with real aliens after all. Villanova seems to be trying to actually activate the Rin-Ne. So are Darth Moid and the Emperor. Yup... which means when you step back and look at it, you have all three Vox marginally under the control of the different factions: Moid & Lan's brother (presumably still crown prince, or perhaps king/emperor) and Lan's Orca, Villpowa & Co. and Mugi's as yet unnamed (apparently) Vox, and the 'true' Earthling faction with Madoka's Midori. At a bet, the 'Rin-Ne' activate when the Vox are fighting amongst themselves, so you've got the setup for that now- though at the same time, the three pilots won't WANT to be fighting against their wives...

Oh know...redhead dude is going to sacrifice Madoka to revitalize the world---whoops, wrong anime.
Is this foreshadowing at the hammering scene. "It's like being pulled away from a close friend." Talking about the robots...or each other?
Pretty boy working at cafe...didn't I see this somewhere else before?
Madoka radar? MADOKA RADAR! Holy shit. Just how big is Madoka's harem? All the girls are head over heels smitten with her, aren't they?

Lan, never stop being an adorable dojiko... they all seem to be getting along well, though Midori being grounded is definitely not sitting well with any of them.

The kamen-less maid guy was definitely the most amusing of the Three Idiots- especially his reaction to the, "It doesn't matter if you're a guy or a girl." I agree that Villabonga probably just made up that whole 'Be With Kiss' thing on the fly- and it was hilarious. The whole running joke with the samurai movie was fun too. It was nice for all of them to get a feel though for what kind of person Madoka is, though it will likely make it harder for them to fight her down the line (though ultimately I imagine they'll end up on the same side...)

Ok, so I'm having a hard time keeping track of everyone, and my HORRID connection causing the stream to drop to near-unwatchable didn't help- was that Vigilanto at the beginning with what's-her-name (whoever it was's sister....), or one of the three idiots? They've danced around it, but it sounds like something near-catastrophic happened involving her and the Vox in the past- presumably that's why KISS are so intent on destroying them, and why the crew on earth now have such a burning desire to destroy them...

Oh yeah, I still need to watch this episode.

Is it just me, or does Yurikano have Madoka's face? Something about her looked familiar.

The episode focused mostly on the three De Metrio/Kiss guys with minimal Madoka, Lan and Muginami.... and was still a damn good episode.

Madoka's friends interviewing the red-head guy was particularly amusing.

Oh hey, lots of story progression to make up for all that lack thereof lately (not that there weren't some nice character moments, but they weren't good enough to carry the show for me during those times)! I'm happy with this. Somehow I still don't find it terribly gripping, but the end of the episode sets things up for a pretty serious finale to the first season. And then the shit hits the fan when Youko gets injured. Oh, and Villagulio kind of tried to wipe Kamogawa off the face of the planet.

Well, that about wraps it up for the first cour, with Madoka's chair alone by the beachside. It looks like I was pretty much on the mark in that each of the three girls (and presumably their Vox units) ended up with their respective original factions: Muginami flying off with Villlajuicebar after Lan's brother's flagship raped his Ovid, and then Lan leaving with her brother (and presumably Moid... who REALLY needs to die in the second cour...) after promising Madoka that they'd meet again. Lan and Madoka's goodbye was really sweet... and Madoka was so distraught she couldn't finish a 'Maru' and broke down crying.

As for the Rin-ne... they explained pretty much nothing, which frankly doesn't surprise me with a whole other cour coming up in which to (presumably) do so. Madoka though ended up on a beach along with her longer-haired counterpart that the Baka Trio were fighting for (I forgot her name), before snapping back to reality, flying circles around the energy vortex with the other Vox in tow, and forming a giant flower bud in the sky, which symbolizes her desire to get in both Lan and Muginami's pants... or it may as well for as much sense as anything made. Midori however stopped moving once Madoka learned Youko was alive and the Rin-ne aura stopped.

Youko got a nasty scar out of the whole ordeal (which they apparently forgot to draw in one shot  ), but in return found out that Asteria is in fact Beatrice the Golden Witch or something of the likes and is responsible for everything that's happened and will happen. And Youko's assistant apparently found a Rin-ne flower under a bench, and Madoka got a letter from Muginami (OK, how the heck to you send a letter like that from who knows where the hell across the universe?!?).

If none of that seemed to make sense- don't worry, it didn't to me either so I didn't see any reason to try and make sense of it for anyone else. :P We know there's a second season coming in Summer (%&#ing split cours...), so they weren't going to really resolve anything. Frankly I'm surprised that they didn't leave it on an even bigger cliffhanger than they did. But, it was fun, Lan and Madoka are a cute couple, and I'll doubtless watch the second cour when it airs. I won't have any expectations for it to be anything besides a) confusing and b) totally gay (in a good way).

EDIT: Oh, and I almost forgot: Madoka and Lan are so hot for each other that even their classmates can tell and make a movie where they're lovers. And Madoka's Uncle's cafe gets two new butlers and a (male) maid. :P

Cool. Didn't make much sense, but it was fun, and we already know there will be another season in three months. I'll keep watching. It was all fun enough, and I'll be interested to see if they explain anything, although I wouldn't be surprised if they still don't at the end of that. Starting the episode off with everyone over then flashing back to what happened seem like a strange move. I guess it's not surprising what happened. I figured their love confession was some dream or something, so being a movie made sense.

Haha...its like a competition to see what show can be gayer in its ending. I can't wait to see how Sapphogear tops both Rinne and BRS.

Anyway, Lan and Madoka are clearly in love, and not just speaking as someone who's goggles are on too tight, you'd have to be willfully blind to to see it. The movie was basically a giant neon sign saying "LOOK AT THIS! THIS IS A PREVIEW FOR THE END OF NEXT SEASON"

Madoka's talk with Yurikano is interesting, but Madoka definitely has a way to go to...uhhh...match her assets.

Can we have the actual ending of the show be a fleshed out version of that movie ending? Please show, you can't go with any other route.

We need more Yurikano in the anime. Even if all she does is stand there and talk, that's good enough. Just make sure the views are good.

Wow, he's still dressed as a maid? I have no idea what to say.

Wouldn't it be sad for random guy with crush on Youko if Asteria stole her away? I have no idea why I said that.

Still it's interesting to see characters actually gets scars as opposed to just dusting themselves off.

Now to wait for the second season. This has definitely been one of the better shows of Winter 2012 for me. I think the key is the fact I like Madoka quite a bit and I like her interactions with others.
