Set in the world of Aqua..... err... wrong show. Set 12000 years from some future which I assume is after Aquarion. A boy name Amata watches some movie about the legend of Aquaria and how it saved the world. In the theatre he meets Mikono a girl who somehow resonates with Amato.
We also learn that there's some evil beings from another Dimension and they come to collect the people of this world. There's a special group of teenagers charged to protect the inhabitants from this invasion but amusingly they are separated by gender. They pilot Vectors who can combine, with each other but each gender have their own set of Vectors and are forbidden to Gattai between sexes. The government also but a lovely chastity belt to the Gattai thing as well.
Soon the city is under attack and thru some circumstances after the boys and girls robots were beaten up by some mid-boss, Amata and Mikono somehow manage to commandeer a Vector, and well... all hell breaks lose as Amata utter the great words - SOUSEI GATTAI! GO AQUARION! and the chastity belt has been broken. Queue the orgasmic reactions. We also learned the Aquarion is a forbidden name and that it seems like the Pandora's box is open.
Overall I say it was quite an impressive start. It's certainly has taken what's good about the original Aquarion and have transported it over to this series. I had a laugh when they brought out the mysterious old guy with an eye-patch and he starts to spouts metaphorical lines. Mikono though may grate on some people's nerves since she cries and whines a lot but at least she isn't a tsundere like Sylvie. The new theme song is great, however need to see the actual OP animation.

I enjoyed the first episode, it did carry over everything I liked from the first series,
Mikono did annoy me slightly towards the end of the episode.
Hope it gets licensed eventually, even a sub only release would be good.
I liked the theme for series one 1, although I really like the ending.

Really wish they weren't CGing all of the robots, but I expected that going in since that's apparently how it was done in the first series. I'm not sure how I feel about the sex division. It will depend on how things play out in future episodes. Pretty good first episode other than that though.
Yay for more Kayono Ai and Hanazawa Kana. This time in mecha show that probably won't be completely terrible. And Zessica looks like she'll actually be a pretty significant character. Hopefully Mikono gets to take an active role as well. And I can only dream that Zessica will eventually find much more interest in "fusing" with girls than boys, especially since the main romantic outcome is preordained.
Also, if the innuendo laced dialouge wasn't enough, the show has a character that's basically called Commander Boner.

Ah man this show is gold.
Definitely like the OP animation
The wall that separates the boys and girls of Neo-Devea is known as the BERLIN WALL!
The Gen Fudou look-a-like is the school's grounds keeper.
And the greatest moment this episode pulled off was Amata performing the Ultimate Dogeza (orz) with the Aquaria in a televised mock battle after what he did to Mikono the night before by ramming his head up Mikono's skirt.
Oh and there's some story in there as well, but without anything to go by as they are all talking is some cryptic message, it's best to note them for when things get intense latter on in the series.

Meh. Most of the episode was dull with an added dose of annoying at the end. The Amata/Mikoto conflict was contrived and stupid, and not at all entertaining to watch. I don't dislike Amata, but I don't really like him either and spending the entire episode on him with little of the girls (and some of what little there was being tainted by stupid) made for a boring episode.
My interest in continuing this show has dropped quite a bit, and I only moderately liked the first (two) episode(s) to begin with. Hopefully the next episode will be better.

For a girl who wants to keep the males and females segregated, Mix has got to be the most ironic name ever...

Fudou.... Zen!? Hahaha, I wonder if it's really him or some great great great grandson. And the Infinity Punch is reborn! With wall-shattering consequences...
I guess Mikono doesn't have an Element of her own but acts as some sort of catalyst to get Amata and Cayenne to form Aquarion lovE.
I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this show. I really like the character designs and the gorgeously rendered world which reminds me so much of Aria, but I'm not a mecha fan so the cg robots leave me cold. I also haven't seen the original so I'm not really clear why they fly out in 3 planes - always the same planes, mind you, though the pilots can change - which can't do anything other than merge into a giant robot. I feel like the two pilots who get the lower body get a bit gipped, and wanted the guys to strafe the big bug robots a few times before merging as Aquarian. But I still feel excited during the cool scenes and the Yoko Kanno music is great, so this is a show I look forward to quite a lot each week.

I also haven't seen the original so I'm not really clear why they fly out in 3 planes - always the same planes, mind you, though the pilots can change - which can't do anything other than merge into a giant robot.
The reason for this is as they explain (or mentioned it) in the 1 hour premier, that each person have their own Element and that can be channel thru Aquarion giving the robot different sorts of powers depending on who pilots the vectors. With Amata, it's the power to fly. Cayenne, the power to see the future.
Also depending on which Vector was the head, it takes on a different form as well.
In the original series, they had the military made copies of the Aquarion Vectors which had one pilot and 2 AI pilots, but because it had no Element users, the robots were pretty much like grunts taking out the pawns.

Now that the Berlin Wall is destroyed, Fudou Zen has declared that romance is forbidden, which doesn't go well with the students. Also the Chairwoman, Crea, (who reminds me of Rena from the first series) makes her appearance.
And now the school's gone Co-ed, their first activity is to go on a group date at Kowloon. Each Element user is given some sort of bracelet that monitors their condition and if they hit the emotion of love, they get shocked. Amata gets special treatment with Donar stalking him with a blow dart.
Amusing episode really as they explain the reason of the bracelet as well as fleshing out a couple of characters here and there.
Episode ends with Kagura infiltrating Kowloon and gone on to meet up with Mikono and Amata.

I think the Cayenne, Shrade and Sazanka group was my favourite. Sazanka seems to have discovered her inner fujoshi :)

To get along with the girls better, Andy comes up with a mix seating arrangement setup. Sadly he's stuck next to the doll and MIX. Ah Andy, how I pity you sometimes.
Also he made up some story about the doll being controlled by a ghost, and we get a freaked out Zessica late at night.
Enemy comes up with a plan to destroy Aquiarion, and they nearly won, but Zen gets the doll to jump into the cockpit on one of the Vectors. Turns out the doll isn't being controlled by a ghost, but by a little girl, and her powers is to turn Aquarion invisible.
Damn funny episode all round.

This show does the comedy portion so much better than the drama. I find myself barely interested in what the enemy is doing.
Poor Andy, though if we go by the image at the end of the OP, he'll be paired with Yunoha and Mix. And they are pushing Cayenne X Shrade hard aren't they? Much to Sazanka's delight, lol.
Yunoha's Element is not just transparency/invisibility. She can literally dematerialize herself and the Aquarion. The enemy missiles actually went through instead of missing them.
Ogura Yui (Yunoha's seiyuu) seems to have just one single 'voice' but it's a damned lethal weapon as she's already shown in C3 and Rokyubu. All bow before the power of Innocent Charm!

Episode 7
Boy-girl class relationships were totally cute to watch.
Amata sure gets excited easily ^^
Zessica has an obvious thing for Amata lol
I'm surprised she can't understand that he likes Mikono more.
Aquarion's new power was awesome! Guess its powers depend on the current users.
Episode 8
Andy sure has a knack of finding useless things.. poor guy just can't get a break.
On that subject, so can't Amata & Mikono... that's just a shame since they obviously like each other a lot.
Those guys from Altair sure have a diabolical plan to revive their planet.
Wouldn't it just be easier to move somewhere else and get girls from wherever since they have inter dimensional travel technology. They are just so narrow minded...
But nooo, they have to have Mikono... kinda naive, but it's still interesting to watch.
Kagura could have also had a different approach to Mikono, less forceful which wouldn't have ended in failure since he doesn't seem like that bad of a guy.
The clothes ripping fan service / fight was kinda unexpected, but pretty effective against the enemy.
Guess we have a little Amata-Zessica-Mikono love triangle now lol
Episode 9
Andy & Mix, now those are two opposites.
Getting them to work together was LOL watching.
So Mikono has a power after all.... a power to connect people.
Nice episode.
Episode 10
New transfer student!
He looks like an awkward, not too sociable guy.
Jin is kinda nice, just doesn't know how to behave around people.
Well, at least he hit it off with Yunoha.
Guess he could be converted pretty easily though. He'd ditch his spy ways if he'd hang out with his classmates more ^^
Interesting how he developed an element power in necessity.
Episode 11
Guess their first Eve didn't turn out well in the end. Poor girl.
Kagura really is a wild thing... He snapped.
In the end it wasn't really his fault, he just got kinda brainwashed.
Interesting episode.
Episode 12
New transfer student Jin was kinda LOL when bullied by girls.
Shame the private pajama party was busted before it even started.
Well, at least preparations for the anniversary event were fun to watch.
Red head guy sure knows how to crash a party *sigh*

Never thought Jin was a kidnapper..
Action parts were really nice and intense.
Here we go again Amata-Mikono-Kagura love triangle.
Kagura doesn't seem like a bad guy when he's alone with Mikono, but when there are others who are trying to protect her, he just goes ballistic.
Those guys just have the wrong approach, no wonder they're desperately in need of some female guidance LOL

Episode 14
Yunoha was totally bummed out by Jin's death.
It was kinda sad he died, since he had the possibility of becoming a good guy.
Guess the number of casualties keeps piling up.
So the true intentions of Altair are revealed, but burying all the elements is kinda overdoing it.
This time seems like the emphasis was on loss, death and fragility of life.
Kinda dark episode.

Shame Andy's holes weren't much help LOL
Kagura's reverse damage ability was really interesting to see in action.
Mikono got snatched again... that girl is like a Kagura magnet *sigh*
Seems like Kagura is kinda a tsundere type (#^-^#)
Mikono & Kagura = Sylvie & Apollon, wonder is they will resist the legend till the end..
Amata vs Kagura was kinda one-sided fight till Amata got some help.
Great episode!

Altair is slowly falling apart...
Guess that will speed up their advances on Earth & Mikono even more.
The training session was very interesting ^^
The real story of 12 000 years ago was really nice.
Great episode.

Hahaha, I don't whether to be shaking my head or be awed by this show.
The power of unrequited love can enable the infinity punch to break through time and space back 12,000 years ago to view scenes from the original Aquarion series! :D
It was great though that they used Sousei no Aquarion as the background song for that "recap"

Top secret banana mission LOL
This mission is more like a typical day on the beach.
A summer fun episode, at least for one part.
Andy... guess you can't really ban love ^^
The sudden winter outburst mixed with Andy's bad mood brought something positive.
Mixed bath union?! Who comes up with those names ROFL

Andy totally lost it with digging those holes.
Guess getting rejected by Mix did him in pretty good.
Mikono is troubled by her mixed feelings about Kagura.
Her dad's letter didn't help to improve her mood at all...
The new attack showed some nice fighting skills.
Izumo finally decided on a new approach, a diplomatic one.
It didn't end well for Mix.

Mix kidnapped, Andy furious, Amata his punching bag, Zessica rejected...
Seems like everyone is hurting about something.
Well... at least they decided to do a rescue mission.
That Mikage sure likes to play his own games..
So the made it to Altair just to be shocked to see it in that state.
They found trouble easily. It'll be hard getting to Mix even for flying Amata.
Never though Amata would find his mom there.

Mikono finally got the truth from Fudo.
Amata got his story about Altair and his mom from Izumo.
Andy rampaging around looking for Mix.
Looks like Altair's curse started affecting Zassica & Yunoha.
Shrade took care of the Amada & Andy rescue.

Andy still refuses to give up on Mix, what a stubborn guy.
It was sad watching him mope around.
Amata's dream was seriously weird, but not that unbelievable.
Mikono is in the middle of everything that's happening, the epicenter.
Running around that ruined town brought them nothing but more tragedy.
Amata & Kagura, brothers or one person split in two..

Interesting.
So Amata & Kagura were the same person split in two.
One went after their mom and the other stayed behind.
Good (Amata) vs Bad/Dark (Kagura).
The one in the worst position is Mikono.
Great episode with things seriously heating up.

Half of them in trouble and the other half watching a history lesson.
Looks like history really repeats itself... every 12,000 years.
Zessica got body jacked!
I really feel sorry for her since she just can't get a break.
Really interesting episode this time, with lots of new info!

That legendary Aquarion sure had some pretty cool powers.
Andy's love for Mix is just amazing. Won't give her up no matter what.
Shrade died. That's a shame since he had some nice powers.
In the meantime Amata stumbled upon something really interesting.
Guess he found his family... finally and got to hear the whole story.
In that whole story, Amata was the one who suffered the most.
Izumo vs Kagura + some sneaky help from Mikage.
Pretty sweet and sour ending of this episode.

Enraged Amata vs delusional Kagura.
Those 2 brought Altair to Earth?! That's just crazy weird & dangerous.
Andy raging about Mix.. I'm glad she remembered at last.
Those flashbacks were nice, but Andy's love proclamation to male Mix was totally BL ^^
Looks like Kagura's childhood with Mikage was pretty thorny.
Dark Aquarion sure looked really cool. Can't wait to see the final fight!

Looks like even Kagura has a soft spot.
Earth & Altair practically merging is reeking havoc.
It's cool how Zessica and Kagura switched to Amata's side ^^
Fight with Mikage was something else, really enjoyable to see.
There were all kinds of feelings flying around, especially Amata's.
Seems like Mikage was defeated with pure love ^-^
This was a really nice final episode with lots of action!
