妖狐×僕SS
What I assume is an ojou-sama type moves into another family mansion to prove she can live on her own, but has to be accompanied by an SS (Secret Service).
I think this is the last show of the season to start, other than February's BRS and the next Precure.
Airs Friday, January 13 at 02:27 JST on MBS

They've done Ben-To, Ristorante Paradiso, Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra and Dogs (which was an OVA series iirc),
If they're good that's up to you to decide.

The main girl's voice seemed naggingly familiar, but didn't really guess who: Hidaka Rina. What a surprise, since it's a tough-talking ojousama and no where near as high-pitched and chirpy as a lot of her roles are. Still really adorable as usual, though (love some of Ririchiyo's facial expressions). Her interactions with her over-the-top ultra-subservient SS and the rest of the rather eccentric group at the apartment was amusing. Had no idea how strong the supernatural element was (or if there even would be one), but that got revealed at the end. I'm curious to see more of this series.

They also collaborated on Level E with Pierrot. Looks like they actually have an English website if you want more info, Damius:

I thought Ben-to was great, and Level E varied but on average was pretty good.

Yeah they're... alright, I guess.
Dogs and Ristorante I didn't watch.
Ben-To and Level E were "not bad but dropped anyway".
Bantorra started very weak but eventually got really good.
Doesn't look like a great track record but they get points for doing an extreme variety of stuff, I guess.
They certainly haven't had any sales success whatsoever though.
Ristorante: 1,459
Dogs: unranked[?]
Level E: 1,491
Bantorra: 432
Ben-To: 2,101 (vol 1 BD)
Maybe this can change that?

1080p? Really?
This was actually a lot better than I expected. I'm not sure why I wasn't expecting much, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'll definitely be watching every episode as they air. Sentai will be releasing it on Blu-ray this year, so I'll definitely be buying it then, too. I thought this looked like possibly the best animation I've seen from David Production.

I had read something that said that her SS was a fox demon, but didn't know that the whole complex was inhabited by half demons. I wonder what Ririchiyo actually looks like? Roromiya's form was....disturbing.... given her human shape.
And if they don't fear humans WTH is out there that they need SS for?

Ririchiyo? That's an unusual name. She's a lot of fun, and I like the show's frequent use of chibi style. Chibi-Ririchiyo reminds me of Yamada from working. She's definitely one of my favorite new leading ladies for the season.
She's voiced by Hidaka Rina. The name sounded vaguely familiar but I couldn't place it. A look at her roles explained why. She's not exactly new, but her past roles (at least in the shows I saw) are all relatively minor characters. Her most significant role for me is Last Order in Index.
I always like it when a show actually has characters changing clothes regularly, like a real person would, rather than having a standard outfit they wear all the time. The only other show I can think of that did this is Kami-sama dolls. Ririchiyo went through 5 outfits in this episode, not including her sleepwear (which is apparently panties and a mostly unbottoned shirt). I particularly liked her initial outfit. Black thighhighs plus dark short shorts was a nice combination and the untucked shirt sticking out of her sweater really sealed the deal. Her last one was nice too and I hope she wears that one again since we didn't really get to appreciate in this episode while she was sitting at the table (though at least they were kind enough to let us see her bottom half).
Sooooooo.... Ririchiyo outfit counter: 5
Oh, and she's a half-human, half.... ayakashi or youkai or something (I think I heard the word "ayakashi" used at some point). So all of the SS guards and their masters, and they can transform into an ayakashi form or whatever and fight with it. I was not expecting this series to have supernatural elements in it. This kind of nice surprise is why I generally try to avoid knowing anything at all about a show before I start watching it. And I'm glad this episode skipped the OP, since that definitely would have given it away.
This show also blesses me with some Hanazawa Kana, as a very cute and very amusing soft-spoken SS guard. Who is also a giant 50 foot tall glowing skeleton from hell when the need arises.
As an added bonus, I get Youko Hikasa a lesbian with her sights set on Ririchiyo.
Great first episode.

The OP (used as the ED in this episode) gives a glimpse of Ririchiyo's monster form.
And someone said what they feared in the episode: pure blooded monsters who resent the halflings.

Well, this is a nice, if slightly melancholy, story of a difficult girl and the stupid boy who attatches himself to her. I guess that whatever is causing her trouble at night will be the main plot and HOLY SHIT THEY ARE ALL HALF YOUKAI
What the fuck!? I was not expecting that! This show is awesome!
Also Hidaka Rina, Hanazawa Kana and Hikasa Youko!
And judging by the OP, Ririchiyo is Hanyuu!

-Ririchiyo's bad habit is being a bitch.
-That's a rather large fluid tattoo. How big was the guy he killed in prison?
-A bishie sadist butler. That might come in handy.
-Black sparkles!
-Sleepy Madoka in a suit?
-What's going on with the cook in the background? What did he just say Roger?
-Mania lady! She has a nice vest. Amoung other things.
-How far into this show do I need to wait to find out secret service sadist butler is the one that threw the bucket of water on her?
-Demon eyes? This just became a very different show.
-Wait no I take that back. It's time to eat chibi rice.
-Kitsune, standard. Yuki-onna, sexy and tragic. Giant angry skeleton, unexpected choice.
-Surprise foot fetish.
-White skirt and patterned stockings.! Please hold on that shot!
That was strange. I like it. Hope it throws in more obscure youkai. *crosses fingers that Ririchiyo is a hopping umbrella*

Nobara's reaction to Ririchiyo was the same I had. So cute! I really like the clothes she wears and definitely a big plus for her sleepwear. A little too mopey (I understand), but I like her sharp tongue.
The rest of characters were really neat, I like all forms of the half-yokai we were introduces to in this episode. I love how Soushi is a sycophant and that confuses the hell out of our heroine.
Chibi-Ririchiyo reminds me of Yamada from working.
Even non-chibi version reminded me of Yamada...a cute, mopier version.
As an added bonus, I get Youko Hikasa a lesbian with her sights set on Ririchiyo.
We need more Nobara x Ririchiyo now!

This episode does a nice job in setting up the characters and not jumping straight into the nitty gritty without properly establishing things like shows of this kind tend to do. This show has strong potential, and it helps that Ririchiyo is established as a character before that happens. The character list looks pretty nice with the tsundere-ish Ririchiyo, the moeblob Karuta, fashion fanatic Nobara, and all the guys who stand up for them. And then it is also nice that they are part-monster as well. Ririchiyo is shaping up to being a great character here, and I look forward to seeing where things will go.

The family names of the characters give a clue to their form. Nobara's had snow in it and Karuta's had skeleton/bone. So for Ririchiyo (which means pretty butterfly), her family name has white spirit in it. A ghost of some sort...

- Ririchiyo sure is really cute!
- Soushi sure give a “unique” first impression to Ririchiyo! “Make me your dog”
- Well, Yamada from Working!! Is in this show now? Wearing a suit!
- Yamada…I mean Ririchiyo sure is cute in a shirt and panties!
- Nobara reaction when she see Ririchiyo is the best, simply the best!
- Well, the Youkai versions are from cute and sexy (Nobara you are even more awesome now!) to well quite surprising (giant skeleton)!
- The chibi-styke is really well done!
Wow…never thought this show would give me a so good first impression. I’m looking forward for the next episode, no doubt! Love this show already!!!

Definitely my favorite first episode so far. Excellent animation, likable characters, good comedy, touching drama, a dash of fan service, and a sense that things aren't necessarily what they appear to be. It helps that Kuroneko/Yamada is pretty cute too. And that open, white night shirt is to die for. Please appear in every episode, OK?
I wonder what Ririchiyo's youkai is?

-What kind of horrible adorable monster is the happy vaccuum maid?
-Ririchiyo has the cutest little outfits.
-Teh heck? The Maidman (http://lastscionz.deviantart.com/art/a-Servant-of-Justice-163397294) is in this show?
-Riri is cuter in glasses.
-Nobara doesn't need to take her glasses off to enter fantasy nosebleed mode.
-Kurata ran away. Form a search party by sunset.
-Naze Nani Youkai~ This week Norikabe.
-Adorable Ririchiyo Oni.
-X-Strike!
-Big brother has a secret spot...
-*snicker* Children staring at Soushi as he's filmed while pictures of Riri fall around him.
-Riri's first text message.
I don't like overly bishie looking characters. I don't like shows with an exciting setting that waste it being laid back. I don't like over use of stuck up princess types. But I really like this show. I'm not sure why. Maybe the cute chibi moments just tickle me so much I enjoy the rest.

Wow, is this supposed to be an Iyashi-kei show?
This episode definitely seemed like one and I really enjoyed it. I hope it continues like this. Watching Ririchiyo's feigned icy indifference slowly get melted away by a flood of genuinely warm affection and unconditional acceptance is surprisingly soothing.
I was also surprised that I am really enjoying Sorinozuka's ultra-laid back voice and manner. I was surprised that his seiyuu, Hosoya Yoshimasa (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=53773), also played Nezumi in No. 6 and is playing Arata in Chihayafuru - both roles sound very different from this one.

Ririchiyo continues to be the cutest heroine of the season. Souchi is starting to annoy me a little with his attitude. I do love the childhood friend's super-laid back approach to things though.
Nice to see Ririchiyou's yokai form though...definitely more humanish than the others.
Happy that the little epilogue features our cute main character in her amazing sleepwear.

This show just keeps on getting better and better. So Ririchiyo and Soushi go shopping, and Soushi can't bear the thought of being away from Riri. It was just so cute how everything went down. Then there is Karuta not returning home, and then suddenly re-appearing once again and acting really cute towards food. All of this was done to throw a surprise welcoming party. It was amazing how everything went down, and Riri is quite the youkai while Karuta is acting totally moe and Nobara highly approves.
So far, this is the best show of the season so far, and I plan to continue watching this.

Ririchiyo outfit counter:
+1
Only one outfit (that counts) for the episode. I is disappoint.
Total: 5
Wait, you say, isn't that the same number as last time? Yes, it is. As I was rewatching the previous episode to screencap it, I realized I shouldn't have counted her bathrobe. For my purposes, an outfit only counts if its being used as "regular" attire. In other words, the kind of thing any other show (other than Kami-sama Dolls) would be using the default character outfit for.
----------------------------------------------------
Oh wow, we get to see Ririchiyo's ayakashi form already. I was expecting the show to hold off on that a while longer and it would turn out to be some big deal. And her ayakashi form is amazing, somehow managing to look bad ass and utterly adorable at the same time.
Ririchiyo learning to use her cell phone was adorable.
Also, meganeko Ririchiyo.
That maid sure loves her job. I also noticed on the rewatch that she was having a blast cleaning the bathroom when Ririchiyo was being shown around. I also thought I saw a rather manly looking maid, and this episode confirmed it.
Now we get the real ED. ..... Aaaaaaand suddenly, after that last scene of the ED with dozens of Ririchiyo pictures including one that's about five feet tall, Soushi's adoration of Ririchiyo seems a hell of a lot creepier.

Episode 1:
- I decided that Ririchiyo was amazing and that I love her the moment I saw that zettai ryouiki. And then we got the rest of her, and all of it was also lovely. Art looks really fantastic in this series at first glance.
- Wait I need to gush about Ririchiyo more before moving on. Short cute girl with nice zettai ryouiki, long black hair and those lovely bangs... a character design tailored to drive me crazy with glee. Hidaka Rina's voice is up to the task of matching that design too. Man, what else did this character designer work on? ...Ookami-san, Tamayura, and Umimonogatari? Shiiiit no wonder I love the designs so much. Fantastic chibi/sd moments too. Conveys the mood perfectly.
- She's also very self-consciously tsundere. Man, it's like Alice from KamiMemo got a second chance at life with a good show. That's what I thought as soon as I saw her.
- Nakamura Yuuichi~~ <3 BLACK SPARKLES! Hahah I really like him already.
- Oh god Ririchiyo waking up after that nightmare, daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn that was sexy.
- Hanazawa Kanaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! Bwhahaha, Karuta is fantastic. Befriending with... whatever the generic name of a "Bugle" is. Cone-shaped corn chips. Whatever.
- Hahah, Soushi is such a great character. He seems oblivious but is clearly quite stubborn. He and Ririchiyo are definitely going to be one of my favorite protagonist pairings of the season.
- I hear a Toyosaki Aki! Yes, she's a cute maid~
- Hikasa Youko too! This is totally one of the seiyuu porn shows of the season. Mainac! Her character seems to understand my taste in anime girls too!
- Haha and wow she is blunt about her intentions.
- Ririchiyo backstory. Pushes all my moe buttons. ;_; I swear someone made Ririchiyo just for me.
- And a sweet scene with Soushi. Yeah they're really awesome together.
- Then shit goes down, and... wow. Fucking top rate production values in this show. Everything flowed beautifully. Soushi is awesome, Nobara is awesome, Karuta is awesome (haha, I was expecting her to show up naked after she disappeared, but I guess a enormous demonic skeleton works too). And that scene with Soushi holding RIrichiyo's foot, holy crap, too hot.
- ...Next morning, Ririchiyo is totally wearing HomuHomu pantyhose. =D
- I wonder how long they'll make us wait to see Ririchiyo's youkai form.
Whelp, looks like there's a very good chance I'm importing 5 again this season. I guess that's the new normal for me. The only better first episode than this was Nise, and if I weren't such a huge Mayoi fan I would quite possibly say this was better.
I am also incredibly pleased by how this show is doing fanservice. They're not shy about it, but it all feels very very sexy and even... classy. Yes, including the pantyshots. That is SUCH a hard balance to strike and it was done with what seemed like the utmost ease in this episode, which excites the hell out of me if they can maintain this all season.

Episode 2:
- I am torn between wanting a lot more of Toyosaki's character Chino on the one hand, and on the other thinking it would be hilarious if every one of her scenes was just her cleaning at high speed, laughing and giggling happily all the way.
- Hahah, Ririchiyo comparing Soushi to the dogs keeps amusing me.
- I swear Hikasa's Nobara half sounds like Inoue Marina instead. And I want me some Nobara x Karuta!!
- Heh... I just find Soushi infinitely amusing. His ability to spin everything into a paean to Ririchiyo's glory and altruism doesn't seem like it's going to get old any time soon.
- Renshou is pretty awesome too.
- ...Ririchiyo with glasses. ::convulses in joy::
- Oh no, something happened to Karuta?
- ...Wow, Nobara. Wow. XD
- Anyways, off to fund Karuta!
- ...Oh. My. God. Yes. Ririchiyo's youkai form is a million times better than I could have imagined. She looks incredible. And pretty damned powerful. Yessssssss. I love her even more now! (And it's really hard not to make Shirakiin/Dovahkiin jokes.)
- Hahah, okay. There's no way around it. Chino is Yui (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/anon09876/InuxBokuSS-02EveTakuyuichino.png) (couldn't get a good matching shot with eyes open, yes they're different, but she wears contacts okay?) This is obviously just Yui's part time job while she's at college (she... just filled out in the chest a little. Or a lot.). She thought it looked like a nice place to work, and just took it without asking any questions when they showed her the maid uniform. She's utterly oblivious to the nature of Ayakashi-kan's inhabitants, which is why she's always running around giggling happily, without a care in the world.
- In really have to think that Soushi's attempt to decline the party was his way of giving Ririchiyo an opening to accept it. Well played, man.
Hahah, ED was pretty hilarious.
Post-ED:
- That open shirt... those legs... goddamn Ririchiyo what are you doing to me?
- That was the sweetest text message scene ever. ;___; Oh god I love love love love love them so much.
I'm impressed that this is Tsuda Naokatsu's debut as a lead director. He's done individual episode directing on a number of other shows so he's not new, but being in the lead has to be entirely different. So far, it's all brilliant. Already my #2 show of Winter.

I just don't find her a very amusing so far. And this kind of character has to be amusing, or they're nothing at best and annoying at worst (I'd put Nobara more towards the former at the moment). Furthermore, I'm just getting really tired of one-sided yuri in anime and that this kind of character seems to be the main way we get explicitly gay females in anime. I recently realized that ALL of my favorite yuri couples (and yuri anime) are of the "they aren't lesbians if you don't want them to be" subtext only variety and that actual yuri couples are almost non-existent (and I really don't . And it makes me incredibly sad.
So, since I'm not finding her to be very amusing yet and she hasn't done anything else to endear me to her (she feels very one-dimensional compared to anyone else in the cast), perhaps I'm unfairly disliking her because her character type represents my frustrations with the general state of yuri.

The second Ririchiyo and Soushi met I threw out any expectations of yuri from this show (not that I had any in the first place). Besides, Nobara's a side character, we were never going to see serious romantic development with her anyway. Explicit side character yuri only happens when there's an unambiguous, established, reciprocal couple at the start of the show, e.g. Horizon or Kanamemo. Because shows rarely devote time to secondary romances as it is, let alone yuri ones.
While I'm the last person you need to convince of the piss-poor state of yuri in anime, I just have a hard time taking that out on Nobara. There are "gag yuri" characters that annoy me but she doesn't. Maybe it's because this is one of those uncommon shows that's setting up a hetero couple I find myself actually really caring about, so I've forced my yuri switch to the off position (which while hard, is beneficial at times) while watching InuBoku.

Hmmmmm, I guess I didn't explain it well, because you seem to be under the impression that this has something to do with me being disappointed at a lack of yuri or Nobara not having a shot with Ririchiyo. I never expected yuri in this show and I never expect it for Nobara's character type; being one-sided is inherent in the character type.
I'm fully capable of turning my yuri switch off. It's in that position most of the time. It would be incredibly hard to enjoy a whole lot of anime otherwise, and particularly any hetero romances, otherwise. I judge the main hetero romances on their own merits. My desire for yuri has no bearing on that.
You get more to the issue when you mentioned "gag yuri" characters. My problem is that I've simply tired of this kind of character. They can still work for me, but if they don't... well, then they just remind me that this character type is the main way actual, explicit lesbians appear in anime. It's not the *reason* I don't like her, but it comes into play if the character already isn't working for me.
And to be clear, I don't dislike her either. She's just... there, representing things I have a broader issue while otherwise not doing anything for me, and her presence in my Ririchiyo/Karuta fantasies is not beneficial.

Not to mention that the same general gag is being done much more amusingly (if only for sheer explicitness) in Symphogaygear
Of course, Symphogear also has actual lesbians in it.

I thought the first half of the episode was dull. And Souchi and Nobara are starting to get on my nerves. But seeing Ririchiyou struggle with embarrassment sending a text message in the after-ending segment made it all worth it. Plus, you know, white shirt returned. To answer my question from last week, Ririchiyou is Hanyuu basically. I can live with that.
Renshou handles Ririchiyou very well; he's a good friend. Oh, and it looks like it may get more interesting next week. I just hope Souchi's character quickly develops into someone more than a devoted golden retriever. While I can find that kind of character interesting (Hayate), there has to be more complexity to what drives them than "devotion to their mistress."

Which could, at least to some extent, explain her family's apparent high standing in society (both of the human and supernatural world).

I think Ririchiyo is part hannya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hannya) based on the mask she wears around her waist. They're women who have turned into demons due to intense jealousy. Ririchiyo's mask is white which would mark her as an aristocrat.

Yay, Karuta is in the same class as Ririchiyo. Karuta's greeting to Ririchiyo at school is adorable. I hope them becoming friends gets a decent amount of focus in the show.
And we got a bit more information on Ririchiyo's family situation. Ririchiyo was in a pretty shitty situation. She was an object, there was no love for her there.
And she has an imouto. Hopefully she'll show up at some point in this cour. If she does, she's almost guaranteed to be bitter and antagonistic towards Ririchiyo, and with Ririchiyo's personality, that should be pretty awesome to see play out.

-Riri, your dog just kissed some other lady. Teach him who's the master.
-No Riri. Don't break up with your dog. Puppy will be sad.
-Fragile looking girls are lovely. *thumbs up*
-Bra help. *wink* Wait Nabara is wearing a bra with that dress? *phfft* No bra Nobara!
-Karuta hungers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVTweuy6dTo).

Why does daddy think she shouldn't be jealous of her imouto? Maybe things aren't as rosy for the girl as Ririchiyo thinks?

- And again, we have more details about how difficult Ririchiyo's life was with her family… Her father having emotions only for her sister…
- Ririchiyo with a school uniform! And now she goes to school!!!
- The scene where Ririchiyo answers the two jerks was great! Nicely played Ririchiyo!!
- Ririchiyo hesitates to enter her class… Karuta arrives at the right time…and takes Ririchiyo by her arm and enter the class with her! Lovely…just perfect! And yeah, Karuta and Ririchiyo are both in the same class!!
- Wait…wait…wait… Who is that big boobs girl with Soushi? Soushi kissed her…and Ririchiyo saw everything…how Ririchiyo will react… Why, Soushi…why?
- So that was a good bye kiss to a girl Soushi rejected…
- It does hurt Ririchiyo…made her remember of her family… she hates the fact that he can be nice to someone without having feeling for that person.
- Damn…that scene in the elevator sure was…
- And now it’s the turn of Soushi to do the perfect thing against the two jerks! Well done and said! Nice touch Ririchiyo!
- And now Soushi and Ririchiyo are back together! I never doubt they would!
- Well, Ririchiyo and Soushi sure are perfect together…
- How I loved that last scene…before the ED…
This show continues to be awesome… There were a lot of emotions in this episode. Ririchiyo sure is one of my favorites character… She is giving me episodes after episodes, more reasons to love her!

Episode 3:
- Hah. Soushi is serious about data backup. Good man.
- Ririchiyo in high school. So how long before she says something she regrets?
- ...About 30 seconds. They were being assholes though so they deserved it.
- Oh yay, Karuta is in her class. I was hoping she'd get a friend quickly.
- Huh. No self-introduction scene of any sort. I'm amazed that wasn't turned into some big production, but I don't mind skipping it. All this means is that nothing went wrong, so yay.
- ...Soushi. That's weird. You don't just kiss women to "give them closure" when you're not interested in them. And did he really think Ririchiyo wouldn't mind? But I'm glad it's not explained away with some cliche reason. And what it shows is that he didn't really think about it at all - he goes along with what he's asked much too easily.
- Woah what? What was that scene of Soushi while he's apologizing to Ririchiyo? o_O
- And Ririchiyo shoots her mouth off and regrets it again. ;_;
- Ah nice, a scene with Nobara that's more than just for comedy.
- Ririchiyo looks so nice in that dress.
- And Soushi sure didn't say away long. Like he says though, it makes sense to keep an eye on her until she finds another SS. And I'm glad he's back to take care of these goons.

Lots of Miyano being very Miyano. He also gets the ED, which is pretty good. Natsume is pretty amusing overall, but he does go a bit too far and gets a little too annoying sometimes. He also wants Soushi about as much as Nobara wants Ririchiyo. Which disgusts Nobara herself. Soushi gets some interesting moments as well. Nakamura is really fantastic as him, too. Other than that, not much to this episode. They introduced a bunch of people with a bunch of gimmicks really fast. Some of them are amusing. I guess they could have executed it less poorly. Not too bad.

We get to meet Toyosaki Maid and see her ayakashi form. She's tiny.... or very not tiny. Her "tiny" comment to Ririchiyo was one of the highlights of the episode. And her skinship with Nobara was another. (Ririchiyos' smorgasbord of reactions was the rest.)

Ririchiyou, yet again, was so cute in this episode. Loved her outfit and hairstyle - I don't think I've seen that too often, one side-tied bun. Irregular heartbeat? I guess this is the first time she's falling for someone and has her confused. Cute that she think it's a health problem.
I feel like I'm just paying more attention to her than the story at this point. She's just that charming.

Such a funny episode, and Zange and Banri couldn't be any more different from each other. There is the brash and serious tanuki that acts like a delinquent, partnered up with a guy who is a playful and easy-going. That was quite the entrance that Kagerou makes into this show. First, being a stalker spamming Ririchiyo's cell, and then attacking her at night only to be thwarted by Soushi. In his world, everything is either an S or an M. Sadist or a masochist? Everything and everyone is one or the other according to this crazy maniac. Oh, thank god. For a little bit there I thought we were actually going to have another villain that wanted to force the heroine to marry him and/or bear his child. He is Ririchiyo's fiancee that she has no interest in, and the evil/asshole fiancee thing is not quite the same thing but about as bad, but thankfully the show doesn't look like its going in the direction.
Anyway, he's a sadist, is Souchirou's former master and Karuta's former master. I was going to say that he also has a cosplay fetish, but I think its really just part of his sadism fetish, as maids fit into the whole submission/domination aspect.
Though his S/M Sense is highly suspect. I like the idea of an S Karuta, but thats precisely because its so completely absurd for her personality and I can't imagine what it would be like (except that it would be absolutely hilarious). S Toyosaki Maid is much easier to imagine but almost as amusing.
His comments about Ririchiyo's outer S making her more fun to break in is... uncomfortable, to put it lightly, but thankfully it should be a non-issue since he doesn't like he's even going to be someone we're supposed to take seriously, let alone a villain.
There was a lot of Karuta in this episode, even if she was mostly just eating in the background. Karuta's appetite continues to amuse me greatly.

That was a really cute episode. Karuta is just so cute spacing out and even though she is aimlessly doing stuff, she is somehow still aware of her surroundings. Turns out she's a great cook because she thinks of it as seeing possibilities clearly. Then a sudden rainstorm happens and a demon attacks. Banri tries to play hero, and it was a big LMFAO moment. Turns out he isn't exactly built for fighting, but his tanuki clones is a pretty neat power. And then Karuta saves the day turning into a skeleton. Of course, trying to keep their alter egos secret, they manage to do just that. And then the ending was just so cute and it seems to suggest that Karuta and Banri might tie the knot one of these days.

I'll rank that one as the best episode so far.
Finally got an episode that, to me, reflects the OP. I'm not opposed to the comedy, but this is the sort of episode that I was hoping for since it centered in on the characters feelings and issues due to their unique heritage. (Baka Usagi is at least good for providing background information). Enjoyed seeing a Karuta centric episode too. Karuta is as cute in her human form as she is creepy in her youkai form. She may appear spacey, but when it comes to caring for someone (or food) she is special and does not allow others to dissuade her. The ending as they walked off together was great because it was such a big step forward for all of them.

Poor Watanuki. His misfortune is so entertaining, though. The plot of this show hasn't done much for me yet, mostly because it hasn't really done much period, but there quite a few characters that I really like, and obviously the show makes a point to focus on one or two each time to really help that. This time is mostly about Karuta, but also has quite a bit about Watanuki, and specifically his relationship with her, and of course our lead is still the lead, and a big part of whatever is going on with the "focus" character(s). Since it's so focused on the school side, this episode has a little less of the entire cast than most of the previous episodes, but the cast is big enough and established enough from those episodes that leaving a few out means better development for the ones left.
By the way, is there any seiyuu who can't sing? Obviously they made sure to only cast ones who could for roles in this, but it really seems like every seiyuu ends up singing in something.

By the way, is there any seiyuu who can't sing? Obviously they made sure to only cast ones who could for roles in this, but it really seems like every seiyuu ends up singing in something.
Sing? Or sing well? Being able to at least sing passably is pretty much a requirement for being a top tier seiyuu, although I doubt most of them would be winning awards if they tried to go mainstream. There's a reason only a handful of seiyuu (Mizuki Nana most notably) break out of anisong - it's just not their main focus.
Hanazawa Kana for example. She's got a very cute voice and I love her songs (like this one, or Ren'ai Circulation, or her Kobato singing, etc) but that's all within the context of a show, a character, and her body of work as a seiyuu. I doubt I'd be so into her work if she were just another generic jpop singer I don't have any connection to. Or another way to put it, in large part I like her songs because she's the one singing them as much as anything else. And I doubt, say, anyone believed Taketatsu Ayana or Yuuki Aoi would be getting musical debuts if they weren't popular seiyuu.
So yes, being able to sing well enough to put out a competent anisong is definitely important for popular seiyuu but that's about it. And really, that works just fine for me.

- So we see Ririchiyo and Karuta in class finally…but for only 5 seconds… Want more!
- The new character introduces himself with text message to Ririchiyo. How did he get her number?
- Nice timing Soushi! That drunk bastard was not able to touch Ririchiyo’s shoulder! Thanks to you!
- An almost perfect scene between Soushi and Ririchiyo was disturbed by an attack by the one who sends Ririchiyo text messages obviously…
- What?? Kage is saying he is Ririchiyo’s fiancé? That can’t be true!
- So Kage tells us that, all the cast is rather sadist or masochist! Even everything else!
- Karuta loves Kage? Really??
- Little Ririchiyo sure is so cute!
I saw Karuta in her classroom, right? Oh! Can’t wait for next episode!

- Ririchiyo's ponytail. Delicious.
Agreed. I like the white coat she wears too. So far she's still my #1 for cutest female heroine of 2012.
- OH GOD YES I'm glad I like Soushi x Ririchiyo so much, because if I didn't I'd spend the rest of the show annoyed that we're not getting Karuta x Ririchiyo. "Suki~" <3 <3 <3 Oh HanaKana, you make em melt.
- She's still hugging her. ::squirms with glee::
I still don't like Soushi that much, but he's gotten better now. But, Karuta x Chiyo-tan? Hell yea. The slow embrace, declaration of love and continued to hug her - perfect. Too bad what's her face wasn't around for that...probably a good thing too.
- YESSSSSS, CHIYO-TAN HENSHIN! Seriously... her oni form is one of the best looking character designs I have ever seen. And she's so badass in it too.
Her outfit very much reminds me of Momohime from the game Muramasa even though Chiyo-tan is in a miko garb.
I did feel like the fight at the end was a little out of place considering how slice of lifey the show has been so far.

It's a ghost invasion at the mansion, and the security system is activated trapping everybody in their rooms until morning. Let's see, there is Riri in her unit with Soushi, Karuta all alone in her unit, Zange and Banri in the hallway, and Nobara, Renshou, and Chino (the one who brought the ghost in) in the dining room. Riri wants to let Soushi know about her feelings, but is too shy to do so. Karuta is trying to put together a feast with whatever she has in the fridge. Banri is trying to rescue Karuta, but ends up running laps instead. And Renshou is camping with Nobara obsessing over Chino's maid getup. Lots of crazy things happen, until Banri realizes he is running on the ceiling and inadvertently opens a door to deactivate the security system. Turns out these ghosts that snuck in were just a bunch of small fries. And this episode's ending features Renshou and Nobara and how they spend their mornings.
This was another good episode to watch overall. So much fuss over something that is nothing more than an annoying pest.
We get to see Riri in her babydoll nitey and in her youkai form. I can see where Nobara would get turned on by Chino. She is just too cute.
Then ED with Nobara was just icing on the cake.

Yay for more Chino! She really is just a supernatural version of Yui... who also loves to clean, it seems. Nobaru is also quite amusing when she's around. Somehow you knew they had to be doing something mundane and not ecchi... I was betting it was Jenga.
Chiyo was also quite cute too. Poor Watanuki... All that training, and she ends up being the one to 'rescue' him (though he likely could have handled those things himself, ironically...). Nice we got to see most of the Yokai forms again... except for Karuta, who can kick just as much ass without transforming it seems.
Now that I think about it, we've not seen Zange transform into Yokai form yet, have we?
Now that I think about it, we've not seen Zange transform into Yokai form yet, have we?
I think he did when he was introduced to Riki?
Oops my mistake. It was just a powerpoint presentation of his life story. He never transformed.

-Chino is too cute. Nobara's going to need tissues.
-Floating glowing save points mean demonic secutiry activity. Huh.
-Scary Nobara! But her bosom still loons perky.

-Seems like everyone got locked in with their true love.
-Karuta's locked in a room with nothing but a fridge. Yep true loves.
-I found something too Chino. *more tissue*
-Let's Training! Hehe.
-An infinite fridge? Karuta is in love like never before. Or going mad from hunger and hallucinating.
-AHAHAHA. All the tertiary characters are crowded into one small living room. What a perfectly dysfunctional family.
-Oh Chino. Oh Nobara. Is it getting warmer in here...
-Shogi. :|
-Hanafuda! Yes teach the eager young nubile Chino!
-Lobster! Karuta is in the most perfect room ever.
-Riri & Soushi need to learn how to spend a romantic evening together. They are very bad at it.
-Hehehe. Silly Watanuki. The rabbit is always lying.
-Watanuki is in danger. Karuta to action. Lobster jump! Karata Kick!
-Piggyback monsters. Adorable hentai.
Rirchiyo managed to get close to Soushi. Even if she's still horrible at communicating. If only they could be as close as Nobara & Chino.
-An infinite fridge? Karuta is in love like never before. Or going mad from hunger and hallucinating.
I thought she was hallucinating at first, but notice how there was a running bit: "Where did you find that?" "Oh, I found it over there"? The sleeping bag, food, tea set... Ayakashi kan seems to provide things while in lockdown.

Karuta rushing off to save Watanuki and then kicking the monsters' asses with a lobster tail hanging out of her mouth was hilarious.
Nobara/Chino is also highly entertaining. Need more of that. Actually, needs more Chino in general.
And Souichirou, that was very nice choice for Ririchiyo's clothing, so thank you for that.... but you forgot the thigh highs. She should *always* have thighhighs. I think only one other outfit of hers in the show has lacked them.

- It's all Chino's fault. God that smile is sooooooooo Yui. Nobara is overwhelmed by the cuteness.
- I rather like getting a reminder that Nobara is an elite SP, personality notwithstanding. She goes from "MUST VIOLATE" to grabbing Chino back from the youkai tree in a split second, and then takes charge of the scene.
- ARRYTHMIA!
- Heh, Noboara noticed that super maid bounce too.
- Meanwhile, Karuta has everything she needs to pass the time. Food!
- I really wish Chino and Nobara were a canon couple. ;_;
- Naked Chiyo-tan!
- She's wearing something to bed other than a dress shirt? Shocking. It looks adorable on her though.
- Haha, damn she is sooooooooo tense.

That sure is a shame... If only I was able financially to buy a third shows this season, I would definitely help...
Ok, maybe someone can clear this up for me. Zange says he was descended from a Hundred Eyes creature according to the sub titles. I can't make out what he said because he talks fast and the music is too loud. There seems to be a number of creatures in Japanese lore that also have one hundred eyes. Did he say Hundred eyes or did he say something like Hyakune, which from what I've found out is a youkai that protects shrines? The reason I'm asking is that he shows himself as a rabbit, but the Hyakune looks nothing like that. I'm assuming that he's just messing with people because he wants to appear warm and fuzzy which he obviously isn't.

Watanuki really sucks at this "delinquent" thing.
Ririchiyo even wears thighhighs during PE.
ZOMG, ponytail Karuta. And she keeps wanting to feed Ririchiyo.
Karuta, you have weird friends.
Ririchiyo has a brilliant idea. Ririchiyo is a mad scientist. .... She needs to work on leveling up her maniacal laughter. Hyouoin Kyoma she is not.
Ririchiyo sees no need for things like pants or skirts when making coffee. A labcoat, a partially unbuttoned shirt and panties are sufficient. *nods in approval*
Ririchiyo turns the simplest of human communication ("I made some coffee. Try it.") into a complex, near-Herculean task. Only Ririchiyo would stay up all night trying to figure out how to ask someone to try the coffee she made. .... Am I a bad person if I don't want her to mature and interact with people normally?
Operation "Invite Miketsukami to Have Coffee With Me": Failed
Operation "Feed Ririchiyo"...... Failed. ;_; Karuta waving the fork near the end when the shot was focused on Ririchiyo's face was a nice touch.
Operation "Invite Miketsukami to Have Coffee With Me" Mk. II: Failed. Though at least this one wasn't due to self-destruction.
Ganbatte, Ririchiyo! You'll master that high level skill interpersonal skill "Invite someone to drink coffee with you" someday!
Operation "Invite Miketsukami to Have Coffee With Me", attempt 3: Failed due to self-destruction. Again.
Bathtime with Ririchiyo!
Suddenly, the ED, about 4 minutes early.
Okay, that's more than a little creepy, Soushi. It is, in fact, possible to pay attention to someone *too much*.
So he has interpersonal communication issues of his own.
Operation "Invite Miketsukami to Have Coffee With Me" finally succeeds.

I definitely never thought I'd watch an episode largely focused on the importance of making the perfect coffee and asking if someone would like to try it. And yet it was remarkably entertaining. Okay, that's not really what it was about, but it was pretty amusing to see so much of it center around that. This series has definitely taught me that coffee is serious business. Not surprisingly, the series continues to focus very strongly on the characters over any plot, which I definitely didn't expect quite so much when it started.

It seems like with every episode, Ririchiyo climbs higher and higher on my list of favorite Tsundere characters. Watching her try and overcome her own nature to do something so simple as ask Souishi to have coffee with her and try and get to know him more was far more entertaining than I'd expect it to be. I'll be quite happy if they keep up the 'tsundere youkai slice-of-life' feel for the rest of the season, but I keep waiting for the plot hiding under the surface to try and rear its (largely unwanted) head. Karuta, Watanuki, and the rest of the residents are still a lot of fun too. "Sensei, she's eating a taiyaki!" :P

The aspect of this show the I think could be removed without affecting it much is the whole youkai/human aspect. While it provides some humor, it really adds nothing to the story. In fact, in some aspects it gets in the way. Making the characters totally human would allow the story to focus more on their interactions and issues. Richi, as an isolated rich girl, would be just as interesting as the youkai/human we have now. We really don't see how dealing with the youkai part of herself affects her life now or really any of the characters youkai heritage affects them. Ok, Watanuki, but you could just make him a rich kid with issues and it would be the same.

And we have Chino who can't keep it straight between a muskmelon and a mask melon. Then there were the scenes where they could not talk, and it was especially funny when Soushi used his text messaging feature to tell Riri how cute she was only to have her knocking it away. Lastly, Kagerou finally reappears and with his S&M ideals. This episode's ending features Soushi, with Riri on his mind.

So this episode is about Kagerou and his crazy antics. Hard to believe this maniac is Riri's fiance, considering he takes Karuta as a hostage to get Riri to travel around town with her. Here, Karuta is in a Chinese dress and a dog collar. Like always, Kagerou's world is an S&M world. Then Riri and Soushi try to connect after a day out thanks to Kagerou. Then there is a huge fight between Soushi and Kagerou, and only Riri stopped Soushi from delivering the final blow. The ending this time, I believe, is the same one used in the episode that Kagerou first appeared. Finally, Soushi has some dark secret and has been manipulating Riri in some way.
This was some episode here, and while Kagerou going all flamboyant was a pain, the fight is really what makes the episode. Next episode will be a flashback about Soushi and Kagerou, and the relationship between them.

Ookamigirl, there have been many posts under the wrong subthread in the past day or two, so this time I'm going to repost this one myself and delete the post under the wrong subthread, to minimize the number of replies that get placed there (because VBB has no good method for moving posts within a thread, it screws up the ordering even if you manage to do it). I've sent you a PM with some info, in case you haven't seen the replies in thread. Let me know if you have any questions.
Original post below:
Fox boy's sad past...
He really is the type that desperately needs to know love.
Real love, real friends, something that would open his oh so closed heart.
Something that would make him stop pretending & giving off fake smiles.
Guess that's where Ririchiyo comes in.
Well, they are very alike... Riri & fox boy.
With the whole letters thing out of the bag... (#^-^#) I hope those two will admit their mutual feelings to each other.
Please use this post for the episode 11 subthread. bear and FuniOP, I'd appreciate if you could repost yours under this. Thanks.
Damn, I really liked this episode. The emotion in this episode really reflected that in the OP. I wish more of the episodes had been as good. The younger Kagerou was a much better character than the one we've seen up till now. The present one is just ridiculous and if they had kept him more realistic it would have made for a much more enjoyable story for me at least.
So all that backstory just went on in Souchi's head. Souchi's backstory was even worse than what we've seen of Richi's. What's wrong with these families? If they represent the families "luck" then you would think they would do everything in their power to make them happy as opposed to really pissing them off. If it were me on the receiving end I would be plotting some really nasty surprises for my "relatives".
Something: thanks for fixing the threading. This should be under the right subthread now.

I'd expected that the 'lie' would be about the letters, and that it wouldn't be THAT much of a shock to Chiyo... though she apparently never considered that it was Miketsukami who was writing them. And of course, since those letters were so dear to her she's not going to it badly- it should only bring them closer together. Maybe NOW they'll finally get their *(&$ing coffee date!
It DID somewhat explain Miketsukami's cool behavior when Chiyo came to his door last episode. He didn't suspect (similar to Kagerou) that she knew that she hadn't really been corresponding and connecting with Kagerou, and thus probably thought that she actually DID care for him despite her protestations to the contrary (and let's face it- she protests EVERYTHING ). Ironic in a way that the reason he is so intimately aware of her thoughts and nature was what caused him to think she wouldn't care for him and almost push her away...
The preview looks surprisingly subdued and a bit worrisome (outside of Mini Maid...). I largely expected that the immediate tension would be resolved and we'd get a final much lighter episode (see: KoreZom's final episode), but it looks like that isn't quite going to be the case...

-WHUT!?!?!? Soushi clones?
-Soushi's childhood is sad and lonely. Until he starts seducing one of the family maids.
-Leaving behind a trail of deflowered women, he works his way through the the family hierarchy slowly gaining freedom by trading his flesh.
-I really hope the head of the household isn't his mom. *shiver*
-Freedom! Of a sort is found. In service to Kagerou's family. The life of a boring butler with no passion starts here.
-Awww Soushi is the one who writes letters to widdle Riri. *sniffle* I'm not crying. Th-there's just something in my eye.
-Soushi's life looks better but it's so much sadder now. Pretending to be an illusion of someone else and faking emotional responses he never feels. :(
-The one time he reveals something honest and real about himself, Ririchiyo comments on finally seeing something of the real letter writer.
-Back to now; Kagerou reveals the truth of his never writing any letters. Riri: "Well no duh. You're nothing like the writer." :D
-Okay it was Riri's usual half bluff. But Kagerou and his horrible hand writing gives her the whole truth. Thank you elevator of truth.
-Happy hugging ending!
I have grown into a sentimental softy. This episode just had it's way with my heart and tear ducts. Hooray~ Now give me another cour of their budding awkward romance!

That was a really great episode. I didn't care about much of the stuff up to this point on an emotional level, but this really brought things full circle. Soushi's true backstory is a terrible tragedy, and it required him to figure out how to perfectly manipulate people into climbing his way up the ladder to finally reach some semblance of freedom. He eventually gets someone close to it, but when a big part of his job ends up being to write letters to his master's fiance, the character he develops takes over the empty shell of a person he's been up to that point, and through that experience finally developed into somewhat of a real human being, even though it was through this falsified persona. Because of this, there is nothing he cares more about than the person who he developed a personality for, and whose letters showed that she truly cared for him like no one had before, even if she didn't know who he really was. Well that person was Ririchiyo, and that's the deception Kagerou and Soushi were talking about before. She knew all along that it wasn't Kagerou (who wouldn't?), but she never had any idea that it was Soushi. Although they set it up as something that would tear the two of them apart in the previous episode, it in fact only brought them together in a closer way than they ever could have before, and closer than either of them, especially Soushi, had ever been to another person. Great stuff. That makes this series for me.

So that's what being engaged to Kagerou was all about. It was actually Soushi writing letters as Kagerou, and Riri already figured that out. I found it hard to believe that Riri would love that maniac, and now we know that the feelings were not coming from him. And Soushi's backstory was just sad, being confined to a single room for inheriting the soul of an evil spirit, until he was rescued from solitude by Kagerou and his family. The ending for this episode is the opening, just like in the first episode.
This was such a great episode that finally exposes all the truths and all the strange things that have been going on around Ririchiyo's life at the mansion. One more episode to go.

Episode 10:
- ...Kage-sama, please don't do S&M in the cafeteria. It's inappropriate.
- Ahaha, Kagerou is chaos incarnate.
- And of course Zange gets along just fine with Kagerou.
- Peking Duck! lol Karuta.
- Sadistic windows!
- Ahaha, Kage-sama is hilarious. Poor random woman walking down the street. Don't startle strangers, Kage-sama.
- And Karuta's outfit is <3
- I can't get enough of Ririchiyo's extreme fretting over every little thing.
- Daaaaaaamn. A jealous Soushi is a pretty scary thing. And talk about passive aggressive. There was no warmth in what he said at all. Ririchiyo is right to be angry.
- Oh shit. Whatever it is, Soushi is so serious about it he's willing to fight Kage-sama for it. I wonder if it was actually Soushi writing all those letters to mini-Ririchiyo.
Well, Kagerou's ED kinda takes the edge off a serious scene. :sd: But this is the show that does EDs like 5 minutes early, so...
Post-ED:
- Haha well that's an interesting scene for Chiyo-tan to walk in on.
- OHAYOU, WAGA BICCHI. Ahahahahaha, Kage-sama is fucking amazing.
Okay, yeah, it's gotta be the letters. They're obviously building up to something that isn't a big deal. And it would be the perfect way to remove the one and only link of affection Ririchiyo has for Kagerou and transfer it to Soushi.

Episode 11:
- What. Okay... maybe Soushi's past is a big deal after all and it's not just the letters. :sd:
- Soushi is a whore!
- ...Oh god, no. This is not cool. The woman he's sexxing up has the same seiyuu as the adorable, sweet Touko-san from Natsume Yuujinchou, which I watched right before this. o_O I.. I can't reconcile that mental whiplash. NOT OKAY.
- I like Ayame already. And hahaha, Soushi will take men or women, doesn't matter. Whatever gets him ahead in life!
- Alright, it took a bit of a detour first, but yeah Soushi is, of course, writing those letters.
- This episode is phenomenal so far. As character background/explanation episodes go, it's perfect.
- And awww I never get tired of how cute mini-Ririchiyo is.
- Gah. So good..
- "I knew that." Hahaha YES! The best possible ending. No angst from Ririchiyo, no feeling betrayed. Just a straight up "no shit, stupid". Ririchiyo is much too smart to have not noticed.
- Well, to not have noticed it wasn't Kagerou. But she didn't know it was Soushi. Hmm. And wow, an apology from Kage-sama. :sd:
@!&*#(! Absolutely beautiful. Absolutely fantastic ending scene. Goddamn. Finally, finally Soushi can express his feelings for Ririchiyo through more than master-servant pleasantries, and can just embrace her openly. Definitely made me cry. Fucking awesome.

@!&*#(! Absolutely beautiful. Absolutely fantastic ending scene. Goddamn. Finally, finally Soushi can express his feelings for Ririchiyo through more than master-servant pleasantries, and can just embrace her openly. Definitely made me cry. Fucking awesome.
God, they put so much of the actual story in just one episode.
After this episode Soushi's actions made more sense since he has admitted he has no real social skills except those he used to ingratiate himself to those he wanted to use. Just as Ririchiyo struggles to stop being snide and act normally, Soushi doesn't know how to treat people in a relationship without overdoing it. Couple that with his worship of Ririchiyo, and you get what you see. If you look at it that way, his actions towards her are heartbreakingly sad.
When he hugged Ririchiyo it looked like someone hugging the person who had rescued them from drowning (which is who she was to him).
This episode was so great that I hope the last one will live up to the expectations it's generated.
... and Kagerou just ruins the mood of every scene he's in....
Kagerou as a youth, while a piece of sh*t, was at least a believable character, as opposed to the wacko piece of sh*t that he is today.

- Shower scene with Ririchiyo! Wow!
- I sure agree perfectly on how Chino and Nobara interpret the word “confrontational”! Thanks to the one who put that note!
- Well, the let’s eat in the mall together scene between Ririchiyo and Karuta sure was great! Want more scenes between the two!
- The note is “Don’t talk” this time, sure was hilarious!
- Ririchiyo is cleaning her room? Really!
- Ririchiyo and Karuta studying together! Woohoo!
- Nobara wants to be a pencil! Anything she wants!
- Of course, there would be food in the box for Karuta…
- Soushi sure knows a lot…

Waaaaaaay too much Soushi solo time. He needed the backstory reveal and some character development and I don't know that the show did anything wrong in how they handled it. But Soushi and his situation are not nearly interesting or entertaining enough to carry such a huge portion of an episode on their own.
Oh, actually, there is one thing the episode definitely did wrong: it barely showed Lolichiyo. It really should have shown her and Soushi interacting at least a little bit.
I liked how the situation was resolved though. "Of course you didn't write those letters yourself. Do you think I'm a complete fucking idiot?" And thankfully, she takes it very well, so we won't get any additional drama over this.

Wow, I didn't think they'd go that far in this one episode. I'm glad something deeper did develop between the two of them, especially since it means both of them, especially Ririchiyo, got to start acting a little more likeable and normal, but since they at least look very far from each other in age, it is a little weird for me to see them thinking about having kids together and stuff.

So pretty much, the final episode is about how Riri and Soushi finally let their feeling commute both ways, while being introduced to Renshin's son. It was really cute with the way Riri panicked after sending the wrong letter to the time capsule. And the time passes on with the residents close and the two even closer. All in all, it was a very nice way to finish this show off now that the two are a genuine couple.
This show was different than what I was expecting it be considering the "Secret Service" part in the title. But in the end, it turns out to be a nice comedy with great characters doing crazy things (though nowhere near the level it gets in Milky Holmes). It's a highly enjoyable show when all is said and done. Now there's only the second season of Last Exile left for me to watch before I put a wrap on the season.

Yeah, that was unexpected and hilarious.
I was also surprised at just how far things went over the course of the last half of the episode. It was quite satisfying seeing both of them finally admitting their feelings- Chiyo's confession was fantastic. Even if it was kind of ruined by the neighborhood kids. :P I think in the end, I have to give the best romance (of what I watched) this season to this over AnoNatsu just because it was such a bigger step away from their usual natures for Chiyo & Soushi.
Lots of good scenes of the other residents too, including some fun Mini Maid Moments (her swimming in the bath was great...). Another show that I really didn't have any interest in from just the initial description that ended up being a whole lot better than expected.

Sorinozuka is a kind hearted one ^^
A time capsule idea was kinda nice.
Ririchiyo... she sometimes acts like she has a double personality...

- Complex philosophical questions for Sorinozuka. Not what he was expecting. :sd:
- Karuta has a questionable grasp on this whole reincarnation thing.
- Gaaaaah, Ririchiyo and Sorinozuka's conversation was much much to adorable. Chiyo-tan's awkward attempts to open up emotionally are portrayed wonderfully.
- Hahah, bashful Zange. Now that's a very strange sight.
- Chino's bounce is unrivaled in Ayakashi-kan.
- Bwhahahaha, wow, that was a hell of a scream, Chiyo-tan. She mixed up the letters. =D
- Man. She is FRETTING TO THE MAX.
- But in the end... she confesses! And it's absoluetly beautiful. And I cry. Ririchiyo, I love yoooouuuuuuuuu!
- Kiss! yaaaaaay!
- Epilogue! Bikinis! Bathing! And hahahahahah, she finds Soushi's stalker room. XD
- And a totally adorable final scene. God. They are one of the best hetero couples in all of anime. <3 <3 <3
Couldn't have asked for a better ending. So many other shows would have felt compelled to jam in drama about Ririchiyo's family coming to take her back, or some evil youkai enemy attacking. Inu x Boku SS spends its final episodes on the most fundamentally important parts of Ririchiyo's relationship with Soushi and with herself. That's drama enough - and a thousand times more enjoyable than sudden, heavy plot.
A thoroughly wonderful show. In every way.

Ahaha, yes, that's perfect. It's exactly the same kind of relationship. A really disturbed, perverted guy and a cute, quiet girl - and it works because the girl is pretty disinterested in his eccentricities, and none of Tomoki/Kagerou's "quirks" bother or hurt Ikaros or Karuta. The lack of reactions from the latter ends up making the former look like the real fools. And it just ends up being all the more amusing for it.

- I really like how they take their time in showing us what he did wrote in the letters and the replies from Ririchiyo. At the same time give us some backstory of Soushi. It’s better then taking just couple of minutes to say it, without substance. This is so well done.

- BWHAHAAH of course Nobara needs to walk in right there. Perfect.
- Switches are dangerous.

- Reliable son has a cuuuuuuute imouto. Awwww.
- Ririchiyo takes playing house very seriously.
- Oh god Hana's too cute. She wants to be the imouto no matter what!
- Bwhaha Karuta and Renshou decide to complicate things.
- And now deliveryman Soushi is seducing the young wife! Scandalous!
- "There's a child watching!" 'Isn't that mroe arousing?" HAHAHAHA oh god never let Soushi play house again.
- House, round two! Nobara joins, yay. I wish the Yui maid would join too.
- Wooooooooow, that sound. That sound Nobara made when Renshou asked for a kiss was pure disgust XD
