Mighty Media is currently doing the BD-Box 1 [JP Import] (http://www.mightymedia.com.tw/news/bnews_detail.asp?bnewsid=1099) similar to how it's handled in the U.S. The strategy seems a bit odd, since the release has no Mandarin dub and/or Traditional Chinese subs.

And then there is this...one of the recent BD-Box 1 [JP Import] advertisement (http://www.mightymedia.com.tw/book/2012A/info03.htm) denotes that TW DVD and Blu-ray versions are to be released and stay tuned.
中文版DVD。Blu-ray。。。即將發行!敬請期待!
I'm quite surprised that Aniplex (JP) is allowing this already. It will be very interesting to see how this develops.

Maybe forced Chinese subs?

Ha ha. Forced? More like easily demuxed. Time to buy this and OWN those Aniplex jerks!

Oh wait, what's that...? 12500 New Taiwan dollars? How am I gonna afford that?

That's the JP import (like how Aniplex of America is handling it in the U.S.). There is no information on the TW version other than the DVD and BD version are to be released.

Something that I missed from a few months back...Fate/Zero DVD & BD releases are planned for second half of the year.

Only DVD has been solicited right now: LINK (http://dvd.bestshop.com.tw/main/qtylist.asp?r=144867). The first volume contains the first episode with an artbox. No word on the Blu-ray release.

As expected the Japanese licensor at the moment is not allowing them to release the series on Blu-ray. I guess even releasing the series in singles wouldn't make a difference. Region A probably the difference here.

That's interesting since the the first half was solicited (and i think released already? JS DVD Mall isn't loading for me to double check) as a boxset (which mirrors the JP one) and at the price roughly equivalent to the JP price. Unless Mighty was going to try and do a cheaper release on their own.

That's the Japan import (both seasons were available through Mighty Media's own site). What I was referring to a Taiwan release with Traditional Chinese subtitles.

Ah, okay. I missed the part of Mighty doing a domestic release when you posted the news earlier in the year.

And, I think this is the first time we see a JP licensor be stricter with a BD release in Taiwan.

We don't know that. Info like this typically don't get revealed to the public. And in this case, it was probably answered because they had previously mentioned Blu-ray.
