-Naked Fujiko having her nipple tweaked then running away. Trapped in a sexy prison. Artsy symbolism and lesbian kissing. I like this show already.
-Aww no typewriter sound with the title. *pout*
-Fujiko is a beautiful blushing bluffing bride.
-Green jacket.
-Lupin's complex plan messes up Fujiko's simple poisoning. Silly boy.
-Nudity! Distraction! Lupin is as easily amused as I am. *drool*
-Always make sure to check identity before beheading someone, not after.

-Silly cult leader. You can't keep any treasure away from Lupin.
-Ooh sexy bellydancing twintails Fujiko.
-The treasure is so close you can smell it. That can only mean one thing... Zenigata!
-Zenigata has a bishie sidekick now? Odd.
-The loadbearing villain makes his escape. Time for the whole island to sink.
-Surfing a giant reclining Buddha made out of crystalized drugs. *clap* Good one Lupin.
-Hah. Lupin laid claim to Fujiko as his next treasure.

I am so in love with the retro shadowy art style. Also Fujiko's stonking great tits. Not as sold on the seiyuu. Guess I'm to used to Lupin in english.

Episode 1:

Only watched this for Sawashiro Miyuki. Really, if you have to recast one of the most iconic anime women ever, is there really any choice but Sawashiro Miyuki? No, there isn't.

It was pretty decent. Fujiko herself is great, and the art style was tolerable. There were only a couple times the art annoyed me, but the rest of the time it stayed just barely on the safe side of hyper-stylized. Oh, and lots of boobies.

I'll be very surprised if I actually finish this show, but I don't see anything preventing me from watching more right now.

I really like the style of the visuals, but they honestly don't look that good in terms of just animation quality. Redline made it work on a much higher level than almost anything ever, and I know I can't expect a weekly series to have the quality of a movie that took seven years to make, but it really seems like they could easily make this look a lot better. I guess between the style they're going for and a certain retro feel I think they must be keeping in mind, this is just the logical way it would end up looking. But do they really have to put those damn scribbles on top of everything? That is one part I don't understand at all. Very strange for modern anime. I watched it in HD and didn't think it looked any better than FUNimation's SD stream, and that's something I never thought I'd be able to say.

Not much to say about the actual episode. About what I expected. Fujiko meets Goemon. Standard Lupin subplot. I am surprised that she was fully clothed for almost the entire episode, though. But of course Goemon's sword-work can only take off clothes, so there goes that.

-Casino vs Fujiko's body. Place your bets!
-Tits loss is our gain.
-The family Italian versus the mafia Chinese.
-AHAHAHAHHAHA! The casino's sassy owner wants Fujiko to steal Jigen's gun. Fat chance.
-Wait, this is going to be really weird. I'm not sure I can like Jigen without Richard Epcar being his voice.
-Jigen has but one weakness, cigare-- Women! What?

-Silly Fujiko. Trying to get information out if Jigen is like trying to get blood out of a stone.
-Nudity works every time?
-Seduction (& drugging) works on Jigen. I expected better from you old man.
-Jigen drawn without his hat and with two eyes!? My world is being turned upsidedown.
-Silly silly Cicciolina. Jigen will shoot your ass.
-Jigen, "Dames be crazy."

Jigen as a bodyguard is less fun than Jigen the thief. But that's largely Lupin's fault.

-Hello Goemon. I guess next episode will be Zenigata centric then.
-Fujiko as an au pair. Very odd to see her with kids.
-From Poris to Astria... And yet Vienna is fine.
-Is this a circus train? Is that a dwarf on stilts? Why is there a drunk clown here? (Hi Lupin.)
-"Ice cream is sweet!" Brilliant deduction Goemon.
-Samurai are friends to all children... right.
-Moon bunny!
-*snicker* It's nice to see Goemon is still comic relief.

-Holding the train. Unsheathing the sword. SYMBOLISM!
-Um, unless someone keeps feeding coal into the boiler that's not how trains work. It would be slowing down progressively after killing the people in the engine. Might take a while, but it sure wouldn't seem like it's speeding up.
-Uh Goemon, just go cut the coupling to the engine. The weight of the freight car will help slow all the rest of the train down.
-Thanks for assist in the naked sexy time moment of this episode Goemon.
-"Does this mean I have a girlfriend?" Hehehe oh Goemon.

I guess between the style they're going for and a certain retro feel I think they must be keeping in mind, this is just the logical way it would end up looking. But do they really have to put those damn scribbles on top of everything?

That is the best part! Pencil shading. I wonder if it's all hand draw shade lines though or some filter. Probably a bit of both.

I do like the look of this Lupin series...

I loved the watercolor filter used in Hourou Musukou. The little making-of extra on the first(?) BD that showed filtered/unfiltered comparisons looked interesting. If only I understood what was being said. ^^;

As I figured, back to an episode with Lupin. None of the others joining in, though. That would have been nice. Hopefully that happens soon. Of course, Zenigata is there, although he seems to be pretty different from the usual Zenigata. He does still get jerked around by Lupin just as much, though, so I guess he's still the same when it matters. While I would have liked to have seen the other characters join in, the episodes with Lupin continue to prove the most fun.
