I wonder if they'll fix the 720i issue for the box version. Don't care about this series much, but I might be willing to re-buy True Tears if they fixed it.

What is the issue? (I guess the issue is also on the Sentai's Blu-ray.)

I don't actually have this series yet, may as well get this.

It's a great show overall(despite its problems), and it's a damn shame that the Sentai blu-ray looks as bad as it does. If this turns out to be a new transfer that fixes the problems with the old one, I'd gladly buy it, especially since the animation and art in this show are both really damn good.

You can sift through the first two pages of the this thread about 720i (http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=99282) that Buster created a while back.

Yeah, as stated in the 1st post of that thread, the US release is also affected (I personally confirmed this with my own copy). I have one of the Panasonic BD recorders (also mentioned in that thread) that has "Anime Mode" which pretty much removes the 720i issue, but one stupidly can't use subtitles when using Anime Mode.

Huh? WHAT...?!

Panasonic's Anime Mode just won't display subtitles (unless neither 480i/p or 720i/p are selected, which makes Anime Mode pointless). You can turn them on, but nothing will be displayed. Seems to me subtitles should be a separate overlay so it should be possible to show them, but I don't know that much about the technical aspects.
