Hi,

My local library runs an anime club over the summer and the librarian in charge of programing is having trouble contacting Media Blasters to get permission to show a couple of the more kid/adolescent friendly shows.

I was wondering if anyone would happen to have any ideas that could help her out?

It would make a bunch of kids really happy, take care Y'all. :)

P.S. Any suggestion on good in print kid friendly anime for a summer viewing program?

She has shown a bunch over the last couple of years and I've suggested Magic Knight Rayearth as the kids are big Clamp fans and she hasn't shown it before.

I also suggested Princess Tutu.

I know she has shown Tsubasa, Angelic Layer, Vampire Knight, Kalideo Star, Macross, Tri-Gun, Mars Daybreak, Detective Conan, A Magical Snow Fairy Sugar, Big O & Slayers.

I was thinking of suggesting Nana 7 of 7, World of Narue and Space Pirate Mito.

Kid-friendly

From Viz Media: Pokemon series and movies, Hero 106, Professor Layton movie, Blue Dragon.

From Media Blasters; Huntik, Jungle Emperor Leo

From Nozomi: Astro Boy, Kimba the White Lion, Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars

From Sentai: Sugar, A Little Snow Fairy

From Crunchyroll: multiple Digimon titles

I am not sure but I think that the only way to, possibly, contact them now is through their facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Media-Blasters-FB-Page/134953719921223?_fb_noscript=1) page.

I was thinking of suggesting Nana 7 of 7, World of Narue

Nana 7 of 7 is a good choice, but avoid the last episode. It is really a bonus episode and for some reason it is rather ecchi, with naked Nanas and a perverted grandfather.
World of Narue is probably a good choice. It is rated 13+ but I do not remember anything objectionable, though some of the aliens might be a bit to scary for younger kids.

I would suggest Petite Princess Yucie if it has not been shown.

Thank you Touma,

I'll get her the Facebook page and hopefully she'll be able to get permission for the club to screen some anime.

Funimation has shut down their club relations section and farmed it out to a movie distribution company. Apparently it costs a hundred dollars to screen any Funimation title for a club now and almost all the titles that are on the permissible list are adult themed.

Hopefully Media Blasters will have a more enlightened attitude to anime clubs. :)

I can't believe I didn't think of Yucie, perfect!

Hikaru004 what do you think of Secret of the Stellar Wars?

Definitely Yucie, one of the nicest little anime's around.

Mito? Not the second season, it gets pretty dark. First season would be okay BUT at the very end the main boy character gender swaps sooooo I'm not sure how well that would go down with more conservative parents?

Another suggestion if Bandai will allow it, is Magical Meow Meow Taruto. It's perfect for the younger crowd with a 7+ rating.
