Like the first two comments in the article say, why DVD? Damnit! Now granted I already own season two on BD, so a complete box that made me re-buy everything to get season one on BD would be a bit of a downer, but I'd probably do it.

It's quite cheap. Really cheap, even. I know it would cost more if it were BD, but I'd still totally get it.

All I can really do is hope hope hope this is leading to a third season announcement.

I saw the artwork yesterday. It looks really nice. It's kind of odd that they decide to forgo the BD-Box. I know Bandai Visual have done that recently with Code Geass and Eureka Seven (DVD-Box instead of BD-Box).

Here is the description listed by CD Japan (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=PCBG-61154):
Release of "Spice and Wolf " TV anime series season 1 and 2 in a DVD box! Includes the completes 26 episodes, official illustrations and jackets on cards.
Special Features: textless intro & outro and TV spots

Too bad this is only DVD. Wonder why too. Well, I sure hope we will get a third season.

The box is gorgeous, but DVD only is a deal breaker, which is unfortunate.

If they ever do a BD version of this, it would be nice if they re-encoded the video for Season 1 to remove the 720i crap. Panasonic BD recorders can do it in real time, so there has to be a way to do it for an actual video encode so it's not required in the playback device.
