That's an amazing one...not the same series at all, far from it. Still, it is a nice artwork.

So is anyone getting this? It should be shipping or already have shipped for those who ordered it alone. I have it on order, but won't get it till the end of the month with the rest of the order. I'd kind like to know what the video quality was like, on the off chance it resembles MB's US release, in which case I'd cancel. I doubt it could be that bad, but stranger things have happened.

Well, since I never did get an answer to whether or not the JP BD box suffered from the same disgusting artifacting during high motion sequences as MB's release, so I had to find out for myself. As expected, it doesn't. Looks fine. Might take screencaps later, but there's nothing wrong with this release that I can see. To think I almost believed the MB explanation that the artifacts were due to it being interlaced. ;)

Just one more series I have to rip subs for.

Also good to hear this thing didn't turn out bad. Shame we're not going to get it over here as MB put out their own years ago, which looks terrible.

...this is the sort of thing I had really hoped would be left behind with DVDs. I'm pretty certain the bitrate is in the 30s for all of these. It really shouldn't be that way, and I haven't seen artifacting this bad on any other anime BD release, US or JP. It's enough that I can see it without looking for it, which is distracting.
