Haven't posted in these threads for awhile but making an exception for this month since I just recently snagged all the Shana lottery prizes (http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/b470/masaru1911/taito_kuji_honpo_shana_iii_lottery_prizes.jpg) in a set on Yahoo Japan Auctions made by Taito Kuji Honpo (http://kuji-honpo.jp/Product/0000000223/).
I would like to use the lottery tickets that will come with the set to enter the raffle for the "double happy prize" which is a large 145cm wallscroll, but you need to have a Japanese mobile email address and not a PC one to enter on Taito Kuji's website.
Also, my Durarara BD boxset has been shipped by Animate already :).

Durarara!! Character Song Album - DRRR Wrapping!!

Small month but expensive all the same. I'm so glad I made my order for the DRRR!! BD Box before the Aniplex/Amazon nonsense started. Now the question lies in whether I'll be able to get an order in for Tsuritama next month or will I end up wasting my cdjapan points on it instead?

Comic Alive 2012-6 w/Haganai-Seitokaichou Ichizon crossover novella and Haganai alternate covers (for what, I'm not quite sure)
I don't know why, but for some reason I decided to pass on that volume of Comic Alive. The alternate cover fits neither the light novel nor manga?
Also, did the volume come with like a pencil board or something like that of Kobato and Maria?

I'm guessing you found out that Precious Memories was a card game after it got shipped? Was the book just a collection and explanation of the cards for the Madoka expansion set?

There are actually two covers, but neither of them have numbers on them, or anything else that I can see that indicates what they're supposed to go on. They are stuck to the binding, you have to cut them off, which I haven't felt like doing yet, so I haven't tried actually fitting them on anything yet. Looking closer at the cover, it says something about alternate covers for the comics.
And no, to my disappointment, it did not come with a clear file or pencil board or the like. But I think you can get one of the cover image as a mail-in prize.

It's not the actual card game. It's a book that contains pictures of all the cards. I just skimmed through it, but I don't think it really explains anything about the game itself, just where some cards came from, such as events.

Translation has finished and it's in editing now. I'll make a thread in the manga section when it'll be publicly released. I've not gotten a chance to read the second novel, but I'm curious how the new character will interact with the remaining cast.
As for the novel, there's some really good parts (Chapters 7/12 made me tear up), but there's some logical disconnect with the plot progression. By that, I mean there's some flimsy connections to get from chapter A to chapter B and the like. Nothing too bad, but that's really my only complaint. The main heroine, Takanashi Rikka, is definitely going to carry the story/anime, but our protagonist, Togashi Yuuta, isn't too bad. If you read the prologue, you'll understand how he is. Some of the strange animation quirks in Hyouka begin to make sense because KyoAni is practicing for them in this anime (i.e. Eru's eyes sparkling). I think my favorite exchange takes place near the end.
“Th, Thank you."
“Just don’t run in the hallways man.”
Overall, I'd say it's highly enjoyable and I'm really looking forward to the anime adaptation. My biggest hesitation from importing Hyouka was to wait and see what format this will be in. I don't want to be locked into importing two shows for the 11 months Hyouka is being released in. The story is detailed well enough for it to be a movie, but they'll miss out on a character that's featured in the second novel, so I'm not sure what will be the format. It's something I'm greatly looking forward to. Again, I'm confident it'll be called a Haruhi rip-off (and there are some references to it that someone not familiar with the series wouldn't have caught), but it's different enough to stand on it's own two feet.

- Only Ikamusume!? ended this month. One left for Tamayura, Nichijou (finally), Natsume, Haganai, and iDOLM@STER! Horizon was a one-off purchase because hell yes ep 10.
- First novel imports, though first anime-related book import was the K-ON! manga before. Why? Because fucking Mouretsu Pirates, that's why (specifically episode 17...). Or Miniskirt in novel form.
- Most expensive month ever at ~$1700. That beats my previous most expensive by... oh almost the cost of a Kannagi boxset, coincidentally enough. And it's about time to place my June order too. I'll need to delay Nise until later thanks to the AmaPlex debacle.

That sucks. I looked at the images provided on Amazon and it looked like a bonus of some sort of the cover came bundled with it. That's the sole reason why I bought vol. 5 with HentaiNeko (what is the official abbreviation of the series?)

*looks at Amazon* Oooh, that's what made me think it came with a clearfile or pencil board. But no, that's actually one of the alternate covers.

Er, I noticed there was a rather significant word missing in that quote. I've fixed the original post and added it to the above quote in bold.
But anyway. I didn't realize it was about the card game when I placed the order. After it shipped (or had entered the shipping process, at least), I somehow realized it was something related to the card game. This is what I thought I was ordering. (http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/4832241516/)
Most of my stuff for this month wound up moving into June, but I did pick up Cospa's Sena body pillow case (http://imgur.com/GlqsU) from Haganai (not to be confused with this one (http://ateliermocomoco.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/414/)) , and 0verflow's final game, Shiny Days (http://imgur.com/E2oHR).
It turns out there was a Sofmap-exclusive character add-on disc for the Strip Battle Days mini-game that comes with Shiny Days, which for whatever wonderful reason 0verflow didn't list on their store bonus page so I didn't find out about it until after buying the game from Neowing/CDJapan.
So I wound up getting that at auction separately, and it should be here in a few days along with misc other June stuff.

I've decided to start focusing on shows I really, really enjoy and wish to support. I used to order a ton of first volumes and I did so with not really thinking about the huge commitment something like Ao no Exorcist could be at 10 volumes along with 3 or 4 other shows which are 6 to 9 volumes long. I have a fair amount of random first volumes on my shelves because of this, and hey its still supporting the series in some way but I need to focus on what I really want. Which is what I'm doing now.
Another random note: CDJapan's shipping prices when ordering a CD can really just chip away at your money. It's no big deal for me but when you look at it it's just like "wow, that much for five CD's huh?"
This month I bought:
Ano Natsu 3
Ben-to 6 (Final volume!)
Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai 5 (One volume remaining)
Hidamari Sketch SP
Horizon 6 (One volume remaining)
Idolmaster 8 (One volume remaining)
Ika Musume S2 6 (Final volume!)
Moretsu Pirates 1-3
Nichijou 3-8
Nisemonogatari 2
Penguindrum 8 (Final volume!)
Persona4 7
Rinne no Lagrange 4
Zero no Tsukaima F 4
So 3 series finished this month and 3 more have only one volume remaining.
