Strike Witches Film BD/DVD Slated for October 26

The official website for the Strike Witches film announced (http://s-witch.cute.or.jp/movie/new/) on Friday that the film's Blu-ray Disc and DVD release will arrive on October 26. The limited edition will come with a booklet with over 120 pages, a vocal CD, and miniature versions of the art collection and pamphlet that were offered during the theatrical run. Early pre-orders will also receive an exclusive A3-size portrait, and some retailers will each have their own exclusive (http://s-witch.cute.or.jp/movie/new/#originalitem).

Hmm, pay an extra $12 (after discounts) for a drama CD? Maybe. I was able to follow other Strike Witches CD stuff relatively well, so I could probably listen to it with decent comprehension. Guess I'll go for it.

Edit: Oh, ew, only 20% off instead of 27%. Hopefully that updates later. Pretty sure I've seen less impressive discounts before that eventually ended back up around 27%. It's not like I can order this until October anyway. Still, the non-exclusive versions are 26% off, so this seems deliberate. Didn't the Amazon-exclusive Shoushitsu set also have a lesser discount?

I think almost all amazon exclusive have lesser discount and it stays that way at least until the release date. I remember Cardcaptor movies exclusives were also like that though first movie ended up getting heavily discounted later.

Looking back through my files, the Haruhi movie was 20% off and the CCS movies were 10% off. There's no way for me to tell if this is the highest the pre-release discounts ever got, but since I usually ordered about two months in advance, it's pretty likely.

Everytime I've seen an Amazon-exclusive like this the discount has been at 20%. The Haruhi movie was locked at 20% (and trust me, I kept an eye on them). Probably recoups the cost of the bonus items produced. Amazon likely has a good relationship with Kadokawa given they've been producing exclusives for all three big anime movies (Haruhi, SoraOto, and now Strike Witches).

I'm quite happy I'll be able to get this in the end, thanks to the re-releases of the first two seasons! I'll get the Amazon exclusive.

Never thought the Amazon JP exclusive would be sold out (for now?) around 2 weeks before it is even released. Did that happened for Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu as well?
