Ok, delusions of relevance aside, very funny episode. I think my favorite part was Chinatsu's hair eating the ping-pong balls.

Also, there was an Akane sighting!

I can't believe the show kept the "Everyone Loves Akari" dream going until nearly the 10 minute mark.

Then Chinatsu is essentially the star of the second half. I loved her WTF face after she finished watching the move. She even goes a bit deredere for Kyouko, right before she makes use of the new move she learned from the Mirakurun movie.

Oh, and her hair if fucking terrifying.

- I like the new OP. It's hard to follow up Yuriyurarararayuruyuri Daijiken but this one is a lot of fun.

- Chinatsu licks Akari's face and steals a kiss! Yes!
- EVERYONE LOVES AKARI! Even Ayano can confess it.

- Awwwwwwwwww, I love love love the moments when Chinatsu does something deredere for Kyouko. Even though I am already busy shipping Kyouko x Ayano and Kyouko x Yui. Kyouko just works so well with the girls!

Oh man, ED is a definite import. Guess I'll just import both again.. Apparently they both sold 13k their first day... pretty crazy.

Ahhhhhh, this show is SO GOOD. Fuck I needed this show.

First segment was pretty funny, I was quite amused when I realized that Yui was reading Yuri Hime, with a Namori cover!

I was amused when they outright admitted that Chinatsu has Pink hair and Himawari has blue hair.

The Student council stuff was good, with lots of HimaSaku. Sakurako at least has her priorities straight

Final segment wasn't bad, though not as funny as the rest.

- Akarin got most of her greeting out. Getting cut off is far from the worst thing that's happened to her. Good for you, Akari!
- Yui is reading Yurihime =D
- Yui says she loves Kyouko! ...So much she won't let Kyoko copy her homework.

- Gaaaaah I love when Kyouko makes Yui blush. Yui is so deeply in love. <3

- Akari sucks at old maid. Yui is unbeatable.

It didn't take long for me to realize that the first segment was a dream. Things were going too well for Akari. Still what's important is what the dream boils down to. Akari gaining a.....

"HAREM OF YURI!!!!"

Which is good before because out of all the girls she was up in the air. Not directly going after anyone. However she clearly has a desire to be loved by everyone. At least in her dreams.

In the second half we get bath time, but also get steam of evil. Hopefully DVD/BD can defeat it.

Soooo much Sakurako/Himawari cuteness in this episode. I love that pairing, so I was very pleased to see most of an episode spent on them.

Episode 3:

- O_O Haha, that was the weirdest Akarin segment yet. Dango bazooka! Get in the way of her title call and she'll BLOW YOU UP. Akari is hardcore.

- Oppai Majin GO! Sounds like an old super robot anime.
- I feel like Sakurako is the only one who gives Akarin the respect she deserves. Sakurako <3 Akarin!
- Man it's so nice seeing the first years interact. HimaSaki and AkaChina!
- "Tell an embarrassing story." ...Chinatsu skips the implied "about yourself" part. Hahaha, Chinatsu you are so mean.
- Everything ends in embarrassment for Akari. :sd:

- Chinatsu has Himawari for the weekend. Sakurako has to go home alone. Oh no. Poor Sakurako.
- But Sakurako gets to set up a date with Akari instead!
- HEH. All of Sakurako's Himawari-related habits are coming out. Including boob slapping. Unfortunately it's Akari there, so all she gets is air...
- Oh jeeze, my heart. Sakurako spaces out and doesn't listen to Akari's explanation. Normally you'd expect a bit of anger in someone's reply to that, but Akari just sounds... profoundly sad. That's kinda depressing. ;_;

The rest of the episode was pretty dull except for the Sakurako/Himawari bits. Oh, and Chitose saving Ayano's pudding was pretty good, with Ayano actually meaning her "I didn't do it for you" thing for once.

There was a severe lack of Akarin's onee-chan. They've been teasing her for far too long, hurry up and do some stuff with her already.

I didn't want to admit it to myself as I was really looking forward to this second season, but 'a few amusing bits but generally dull' is how I would describe my view of the series so far. Something seems to be missing, but I'm not sure what.

- The title calls are getting more elaborate... Akari has been replaced with Mecharin!
- I'm so in love with this OP and ED.

- Heh! I was just thinking Ayano's sneeze was outrageously cute, and the Kyouko immediately concurs.
- Kyouko did something considerat-- ...Well, mostly considerate. Ayano quietly mouthing "thank you" to Kyouko's smiling "yay!" was deadly cute.
- Oh god the gas mask. And of course it's Akarin who runs into her not knowing wtf is going on.
- ...Half thought Akari was going to pee herself.

- Cleaning. More HimaSaku SakuHima time!
- Ghost Maid Sakurako!
- Heh poor Ayano, she's trying so hard to protect her pudding.
- Bwhaha, she's terrible at shiritori.
- A somewhat awkward save from Chitose pays back double when Ayano gets to taste Kyouko's delicious cream. ...Ice cream.
- And then she keeps it as a trophy. =D

- Nishigaki-chan and Rise, yay. I could just make out "sensei" at the end of Rise's sentence.
- Ahahah, Nishigaki carries Rise like a sack of rice.
- Dog clocks annoy Ayano. Me too.
- Then Rise said "yamete kudasai". More audible than usual.
- Awww... young Nishigaki was cute.
- "Well that was a lie." "Desu yo ne." Now I feel like I always need to listen for Rise's lines.
- Yep. The second story is so much more plausible. :sd:

- Hah, teruterubouzu hair. I hadn't thought of them that way before.
- Kyouko you're so mean. Akari gives you this super cute "daisuki" and it doesn't move you at all. ;_;
- Heh. Hey Akari, what does Chinatsu want? ...Yeah, answering that could get awkward.

- Chinatsu has absolutely no inhibitions about showing her love for Yui. :sd:
- Akari abused her Akkariin powers to avoid getting splashed. Impressive!

On the upside, I think Akari had more screentime in this episode alone than she had the entire first season.

On the downside, most of it was her suffering.

On the upside, Kaede is back and she is just as adorably precocious as ever.

Being Akari is suffering. And Sakurako is all too willing to help with that. The Sakurako induced suffering, with Akari running in terror from a flock of pigeons, was funny but the extended "Akari is suffering" segment in the first half didn't do much for me and just went on and on and on.

The Sakurako part was the best, as usual. I totally forgot about Himawari's adorable imouto. Now we need to meet Sakurako's imouto. And Onee-chan, apparently.

Speaking of sisters.... can we please meet Akari's sister properly now? As in, actually use her in the show? Please?

Also, I'm highly disappointed that Kyouko managed to get home without meeting every single one of her acquaintances. Ararararagi-sensei does not approve.

At least she remembered to visit Akari. Not sure how much more I can take of the writers' pretending she doesn't exist at times. Though whether I'd rather have those "she's not really there" jokes or her undergoing assorted suffering, I don't know.

On that note, though, Yui trying to do the title call was cute.

- Bwhaha, poor poor Akarin. Not many people can manage to get a cicada stuck in their hair. I was so sure Kyouko was going to swat it right then and there and leave bug guys all in Akarin's hair. >_>

- Of course they're the wrong kind. :sd:

- Oh god, so cruel. ;_; Akarin missed the train and can't go swimming with everyone. I wanted to see her in her swimsuit!

- Wind hates Akari. Trains hate Akari. Vending machines hate Akari. Mosquitoes hate Akari. But I love Akari!
- So much Akari. Akari as the sole protagonist! Akari's time to shine!
- I really can't explain just how happy it makes me to see so much Akari. At the same time, it's kind of sad to see her so super excited because you know total disappointment is coming.

An episode where Akari is treated relatively okay and gets a fair amount of screentime? I'm watching the same show, right? :P (Sure, a lot of it is with her in a Ganbo costume, but she kept her signature buns, so it's all good.)

On the other hand, poor Ayano.

Oh man, poor Ayano. She's raring to go, eagerly awaiting a call that will never come. It was cute but I really felt bad for her, so her first bit ended up being more sad than funny.

Then Chitose comes. Also without Ayano.

Then Ayano finally breaks. ;_; Chitose.... does not exactly help.

Meanwhile, at Comuket, Chinatsu crushes another poor little Mirakurun fangirl's innocent dreams. The "Life is bitter, mom" line was hilarious. Definitely the single best gag of the episode.


The Mirakurun "episode" was pretty fun too. Was really not expecting to be made by Kyouko. And certainly not ONLY by Kyouko. Also... that's not how you play dodgeball

- I reallllllly like Kyouko's outfit right now. She looks extra cute. Everyone looks amazing really... I still rate Yuru Yuri are one of the most successful manga > anime character design transitions ever, and since the original are among my favorite ever, that means I looooooove the anime designs.
- Kyouko also makes pancakes cutely!

There was also an awful lot of SakuHima. So basically this episode was perfect.

That wasn't nearly as much Akane as I was expecting/hoping for, but we got a good amount of Kaede, plus we finally get to meet Chinatsu's onee-chan and Sakurako's sisters. Didn't care much for the Chizuru segment, but Sakurako and Himawari is always at least moderately good, so that made up for any other deficiencies.

Anyway, more Tomoko, Hanako, Nadeshiko and Akane, please.

Also, I just read what's available of Oomuro-ke last night, so I had actually already met Nadeshiko and Hanako there. Didn't realize I was going to be seeing them in animated form so soon.

It's the episode I've been waiting seventeen episodes for. But first... lots of Kaede! Her high levels of adorableness make her a great character on her own and she definitely deserves more screentime.

Oh gosh those math puns. "Can you solve my cubic curves? I can't seem to make them go straight..." Who knew lesbianism could be represented so well mathematically?

On another note, if I had one of those exercise balls, I would use it exactly how Nadeshiko uses it. Well, I'd also use it how Himawari used it... But, uh, using it properly? ...Nah.

And finally, Akane! Every second of her appearance was glorious, and it felt way too short. Yui Horie was perfect in the role.

Also, Tomoko! We need to see more of these two before this season's over.

- Yesssssss, Nadeshiko and Hanako, finally!
- Huh, Saitou Chiwa puling out a softer Hitagi for Nadeshiko. I never really thought about it, btu that works. So who will Hanako be...
- Hidaka Rina. Works perfectly.
- Art was kinda funky here. But her got a Horizon-like SUPER DOGEZA.

- Now for some adorable Kaede!
- This is... this is just... deadly cute.
- ...Kaede is... THE OPPAI SPY.

- Chizuru time!
- All anime characters need sisters. ALL of them. Especially sisters who ship them with other girls. There can be no better sign of sisterly love. Well, Akane's method is okay too!

This episode is about sisters… this can be really interesting.

- It looks like complicated each time it is the turn of Sakurako to cook. Nadeshiko and Hanako have to do the same thing each time, I’m quite sure.

- Chizuru oh wow!

Actually it was pretty good, especially the bit with Akane. Poor Chinatsu. She has no idea.

That last part was awesome; I love it when shows like this mix up the cast and let the members interact with other cast members they don't normally interact with. Though Himawari and Yui just aren't as good at tsukkomi-ing the other's boke...

And we've seen Akari x Chitose before, but that last part was just adorable. (Akari x Chitose Yuri Power Level Up!)

Wow, lots of Chinatsu in this episode. And last episode wasn't exactly short on her either, if I recall correctly.

I really liked the last skit, with a bunch of unusual character duos. Chinatsu/Ayano and Kyouko/Himawari were particularly nice combinations I'd like to see more of.

And Sakurako and Kyouko becoming friends really is kinda scary.

- Ahahah, the extreme reaction from China-chan was inevitable. Kyouko is rather brave for admitting what she did.

- Oh poor Chinatsu. Hiding in a closet for hours sounds about as fun as a stick in the eye.

Err...so the school trip part was rather bizarrely meta. It seems they've entered a time loop.

Anyway, the real show was back on HimaSaku, including the absolutley HHHHHNNNNGGGG-tastic marriage license scene. Also a surprisingly large amount of Nadeshiko, who was HomuHomuing it up on the phone. So weird hearing that voice from someone with short, light colored hair.

Also, Chinatsu rapes Akari again.

I was amused at seeing Akari's "I've Been Violated" face again, particularly since I wasn't sure if I had seen the beginning parts of that scene before or not and then thought maybe it was the lead-up to Chinatsu violating Akari.

- This week is all about the second years! ...Or not. Sakurako refuses to be ignored.
- Hhaha, so she goes on her own trip with Himawari. Destination? As far as they can walk.
- Sakurako tsuntsun time! Aww she made Himawari some onigiri. And even remembered how Himawari liked them as a kid.
- Of course it turns out terribly. Heh, her attempt to spin it was great.
- Their casual clothes are so cute. Especially Sakurako's skirt.
- Sleepy Sakurako. And a flashback to the cute couple as kids! <3
- It's a bear! Or maybe just Akari. Zettai ryouiki Akari! <3 <3

- Now for the second years' class tri-- just kidding! AkaChina time!
- Akari is on high alert. Chinatsu is going through Yui withdraw. Akari is in danger!
- Akari thinks Chinatsu is cute! (And scary. But we need to pretend she didn't say that.) And she smells good! And has fluffy hair!
- Awwwwwww, what an incredibly adorable moment of friendship. Akari is the best friend ever.
- Friendship backfires. Now Akari feels the pressure of being the one making the decisions. This is too much for a girl with no presence.
- Oh god. Akari's sheer terror is so very Akari-like. Not that it's not warranted.
- Poor Akari. :sd: It's so sweet how earnest Chinatsu is about their friendship. Just, uh, it's also a bit dangerous.

- Now for the second years' trip! Kyouko in a towel! And--just kidding, HimaSaku is back!
- Nadeshiko calls Himawari Hima-ko. That's cute.
- Uh unique ringtone, Nadeshiko.
- Ohhh hell yea more teasing about Nadeshiko's secret girlfriend like in Oomuro-ke. I must know who it is!
- Nadeshiko teaches HimaSaku how to fill out a marriage registration. You are the best sister, Nadeshiko.
- Janken to decide the wife, haha. Just both be the wife!
- And that's exactly what Sakurako does! Sakurako, you used to be so smart, what happened?
- "When we get married I'll make you sweets every day." OHHHHHHH MYYYYYY GODDDDDDDDDDDD this is amazing.
- Yes. Himawari did bring her sweets. The future turned out correctly! Nadeshiko is not surprised.

- And the second years finally come back. Just in time to save Akari's life.

Holy crap this show is amazing. It may be back as my #1 of the season after these last few eps.

But what the heck was Himawari saying? 11 is the last episode? I guess she means her and Sakurako's last episode. Awww... well, if 12 is focused on the Goraku-bu that wouldn't be a problem, they are the main characters after all.

That was easily one of the best episodes of the whole series. Certainly the best episode for Akari. Probably the best episode that didn't focus heavily on HimaSaku, adorable imoutos/cousins or Chinatsu ruining little girls childhoods.

- Hah she jumped back to her first day of middle school. That means this episode has DOUBLE AKARIN! And Akari is the protagonist!

- Countdown to Kyouko in the future complaining about her chips going missing a year earlier?
- Now Akari will take advantage of time travel to fix her mistakes.

- Or not. But man Akari has stealth down to a science. ...Wait, she probably wouldn't be happy to hear that.
- HAHHA oh god, Akane. Akane sees two Akaris. This... how will this end?
- Of course Akane believes the time travel story. Hah.

Yeah definitely. I think that's been expressed especially well in Chinatsu's relationship with Akari. For all Chinatsu inadvertantly terrorized Akari in episode 10, the underlying message was that Chinatsu really, really cares about her, even when she's desperately missing her Yui-senpai.

Chinatsu x Akari has become one of my absolute favorite pairings in the whole series. Possibly second only to Himawari x Sakurako and just ahead of or tied with Kyouko x Ayano. I guess I'd put it ahead, because it's a bit more reciprocal.

Anyway, I thought the episode was hilarious, especially the commentary from the sisters in the audience.

And Tomoko...you might go well with Akane after all.

This season certainly ended on a high note. The first skit with the snake was pretty good and the play that took up the remaining 4/3 of the episode was fantastic. That family-member audience reactions were great stuff and the play itself was one of the most bizarre stage performances I've seen in anime. Chinatsu being gloriously evil and her and Ayano reacting to Yui almost kissing Kyouko were probably the best parts, followed by the naming of the dwarves.

This show's biggest flaw is a severe lack of Onee-sans in general. It wasn't until the last few episodes that we finally got to really see Akane, and Tomoko, Chinatsu's sister, appeared in about two segments total. Also needs more imoutos and cute itokos (who are almost certainly also imoutos) but the show can never have enough of them and they fared relatively decently.

And yet another show is finished for the season. Which feels really weird since the month is only half over.

I think what I liked most about this episode is at the near end, where Akari takes center stage and finally gets to be the center of attention that she dreamed of being in the first episode of the season.

Also, Yui and Kyouko finally kiss! Even if it was by accident. Still, poor Chinatsu and Ayano... and Chitose must be having either a jealousy or threesome fantasy.

Some great commentary from the sisters in the peanut gallery, too. If this gets a third season, it needs more sister love.

Goodbye, Yuru Yuri, and may we meet again. And Akari, you will always be the protagonist in my heart.

I loved the final scenes where they were bowing. It felt like they were breaking the fourth wall and bowing not for a play, but for the Yuru Yuri show itself.......

This is a show that really gained traction over the course of the 12 episodes. If there is another cour it will be interesting to see how it evolves........I cannot wait.

If I watch this episode, Yuru Yuri will be over. Possibly forever. This makes me sad. ;_; But if I don't watch it, I may just die from Akari withdrawal. Such dilemmas.
