Wiki says: "Sakura Ichiko is a 16-year old, happy-go lucky who is full of Happiness Energy. She absorbs her energy from her other surroundings, which disrupts the energy balance of the world. Because of this, Momiji, a poverty god plans to target Ichiko and taker her power away in order to restore the energy balance of the world by possessing her."

This one looks interesting.
Sakura is the real renaissance girl.
Her luck was totally amazing.
Momiji was totally ROFL
The preview of Sakura's future with normal luck was *screams & runs away*
Looks like Momiji isn't as bad as it seemed at first, but she get's fooled pretty easily.
Will be watching this one for the laughs & murderous intent.
07-05-2012, 11:31 PM
WTF did I just watch? A God of Misfortune getting her asskicked for most of the episode and seeing Ichiko making funny faces.
The two have some really good chemistry together
Will be watching this one for the laughs & murderous intent.
Same here. I just hope the show doesn't fall into the same problem at Nyaruko where it started off really good with the fast-paced comedy, then it just dropped.
07-05-2012, 11:36 PM
Meh. Yeah, Ichiko's hot, and oh god HanaKana, but otherwise...blah.
07-06-2012, 02:19 AM
Ichiko's incredibly stuck up personality was pretty amusing. Her being a completely horrible person would wear itself out pretty quickly, so it was nice to see that she has a good side even before her butler had a heart attack. And yay for Hanazawa Kana.
Unfortunately, I did not find Momiji amusing. I think the only things with her that I found the slightest bit entertaining where here failed attempts to stab Ichiko with the giant syringe. Nothing else she did was the slightest bit funny. This is kind of a big problem.
And the show took less than a minute to annoy me with boob envy jokes. Thankfully, it only came up one other time after the OP, but I fear this might be a recurring thing.
"Look, its Goku and Vegeta! Here's Medaka, LOL" At least Medaka is recent. DBZ references were "getting old" in 2005. They are now horse paste. If you really want to do something with, then do a super saiyan or kamehameha gag. They're still cheap and past their expiration date, but at least they're "oldies but goodies". Simply slapping the characters in the background almost randomly is just really lazy.
07-13-2012, 01:59 AM
Yea....this episode went a little too much over-the-top to the point where I was rolling my eyes at some of the antics.
Still on the fence of dropping this though as it is still fairly amusing.

Sakura's "good morning" reaction was just priceless!
Momiji as the transfer student ROFL
The insults were just flying naturally.
All the sabotage effects were really fun to watch.
Bobby, the traveling priest, was a semi useful perv.
That Sakura sure has a short fuse ^^"
Sakura vs Momiji fight was pretty cool.
I'm loving this anime more and more.
Don't know why but this kinda reminds me of Gintama on some level.
07-13-2012, 01:45 PM
Ichiko is a flawed person, but at the same time she does show signs of having a heart given some of her actions. Really her main flaw is being happy about her success and looking down on others.
Then again to be fair, if I were to say win $1,000 and someone considered me a horrible person because I won money, I'm not going to be like "Wow, they're right. I should be ashamed of my luck"
The real problem is with Momiji. She's basically a horrible person. It's blatant that 90% of her motivation is based on wanting to make Ichiko suffer and this is even before she found out what Ichiko was like.
Also, I have an issue with the premise of the show. Is the message here "If you succeed, it's because you made someone else suffer?"
There's also the issue of the balance in the first place. I mean do we have the opposite going on. Where there are people with too much misfortune and that has to be solved? Or is only having fortune bad?
Finally, if Ichiko does turn out to be a God of Fortune in Human form, wouldn't this be like balancing the seasons by deciding "We need to get rid of the Goddess of Spring! That will surely balance the seasons!"
So to make a long story short, unless there's more to this show than Momiji being the worst person in existence trying to treat a flawed person like crap then I'm not sure I want to watch anymore.

The director and studio of Gintama, one of my top 5 anime? Why yes, I think I will give this a shot. Certainly no Gintama so far (not that Gintama was any Gintama in the first episode), but it's got plenty of that reference-heavy comedy that they excel in with Gintama. So not a very impressive first episode, but certain elements of it have me pretty optimistic that it will have some promising moments over the course of its run, so I'll be sticking with it to get the most out of all of those.
07-14-2012, 02:30 AM
So this is only one cour. That's too bad. For this kind of anime to really get great, it needs a lot more time, so I fear that never has a chance of happening for this one. Anyway, holy shit references! They definitely gave this to the right people. I really love the way those are played in this episode. Unfortunately, some of the gags just fall flat, which makes for some really awkward and even sometimes irritating moments. And of course the show is about as deep as BakaTest, so I don't expect much out of it in terms of substance. But if it can keep being fun enough, I think I can enjoy it for that. You are no Elizabeth, mascot character.
07-16-2012, 10:17 PM
This show might be enjoyable for me. Seeing how destructively happy Ichiko once was, no wonder Momiji had to do something. It's Ichiko's birthday, and her butler suddenly is hospitalized and after releasing her stored-up happiness energy, he is back and Ichiko sends him away so that he can live a happy life.
This show is insanely funny, about at the level as My Bride is a Mermaid. And then there is the omake at the end to pretty much solidify its place as one of those joke-heavy shows.
07-16-2012, 10:18 PM
This show continues to be funny with Momiji doing everything possible to make Ichiko's life miserable. From all those scenes in the closet to the perverted monk, the summoned animal spirits, and the dead feudal era warriors being revived into her home, this show has definitely become crazy. With everything that is happening, it is hard to believe that Ichiko had everything going for her. Anyway, with my slate already as crowded as it is, chances are I will put this show on hold for now, but with a good chance of being revisited after the season.
07-20-2012, 07:39 AM
I just love this anime 'cause it's totally funny all the time.
Sakura vs Binbougami is a regular thing now.
Naruto cosplay was a nice touch.
Getting a boyfriend was not as easy as her imagination.
Keita was nice, but with a typical on-your-own story attached.
Sakura acted like a total jerk.... guess having money and everything made her arrogant.
Looks like Binbougami isn't all bad after all.
Sakura's one selfless act was really nice & sweet.
Somehow, I've started to enjoy watching those two fight!
07-23-2012, 06:48 PM
Alright, I'm going to stop trying to compare this to Gintama. It's less similar than Sket Dance, anyway, and of similar quality. In another season, I might be putting it down more, but in this one, it's one of the better ones, so hey, I guess it's better than nothing. Not bad at all, really.
07-26-2012, 02:48 PM
Momou & Momiji duo vs Sakura.
He was totally cute, but a total masochist.
Momiji was really enjoying her sadistic games with him.
Dragon Ball moment was just awesome!!
Momou successfully infiltrated Sakura's home. She really is really messy.
He just didn't stand a chance against her. Her luck was too strong.
OMG! Sakura going through trash at the dump. You go to admire her will.
Momou was surprised to see that Sakura had a different side that what Momoiji told him.
Bathing time was... BAD for Momou ROFL!
Awesomely funny episode!!!
07-29-2012, 10:24 PM
Nice to see our protagonist be further developed into a good person. The addition of the masochistic dog god to the cast makes for some good fresh fun. The touching moments were well-done, but the comedy payoff at the end made for the full package I was hoping for. It was all pulled off very well. And of course, reference overload as always.
08-02-2012, 02:24 PM
Round 5 indeed!
Momiji's new plan backfired as usual.
Sakura was pretty cute in her younger version.
The air tag was kinda cool though.
Tsuwabuki's sister Mika & Sakura - hanging out?
Pretty weird, but she'd do anything to get away from Momiji.
Bobby & Momou are hanging out together, wtf is wrong with this picture?!
Guess they're both pervs so no wonder.
It's amazing how persistent Sakura can be.
Is it possible? She actually likes Tsuwabaki's family now? Wow! That's a big step for her.
Frisbee to the head was LOL
I just love this anime. It's so darn funny!!
08-04-2012, 06:17 PM
Wow, that's a meme in Japan, too? I guess the scouter-crushing is pretty ridiculous even without the over-the-top delivery of the (mistranslated) line.
The episode leaves off on a cliffhanger, giving us the first story that gets more than one episode. And according to the preview, the next one might get a little serious. This is definitely a very similar approach as Gintama.
08-09-2012, 07:18 AM
Tsuwabuki really got in serious trouble this time.
Momo came pretty handy this time.
Finally, she realized why she irritated by his family all the time.
Looks like what Sakura really needs is family.
Leaving them was pretty hard for her.
Momo & that priest really do make a good pair. Total pervs ROFL
It's interesting how they're all staying in her apartment.
Sakura really changed after living with Tsuwabuki's family, but that was short ^^"
08-13-2012, 06:52 PM
WHY IS THAT "WOW!" A REGULAR SOUND EFFECT NOW?! Fairy Tail has always used it to death, Hunter x Hunter has used it a few times, and now this is using it, too.
The opening recap basically said everything I thought as I thought it. Subtle it's not, but I can appreciate it showing the ability to guess what you're thinking right on time.
Nice to see them follow up the scouter-crushing joke with Vegeta's death scene.
Definitely more seriousness than this show has had yet, and it worked pretty well. When it wants to do character development, it does a decent job, although it almost seems invalidated when everything goes back to its normal comedy style. I liked seeing (M)ichiko run around with one shoe like Momiji.
08-16-2012, 10:32 AM
Seems like Sakura got herself a new enemy.
That Rindou tomboy had the right to be angry at Sakura.
What she did to her wasn't nice at all.
Sakura vs Rindou official fight was.. well.. short.
Looks like no one can stand up to her luck.
At least Momiji was enjoying that.
Making Rindou into a proper girl was "wow, what a makeover"!
Her dad sure pissed Sakura with his attitude.
Maybe she's got a new friend now? Wit her attitude, maybe..
08-17-2012, 06:36 PM
Wow, FUNimation is actually on time. Well, their "simulcasts" of it are delayed anyway, but they almost never stick to their own schedule.
Another case of everything being extremely predictable but then the show breaking the fourth wall and addressing the same issues I was thinking about early on in this episode with Ichiko being sure she'd never see Ranmaru again, then her transferring to her class, and then with the other students commenting that there are a lot of transfer students in their class and the teacher saying it was because the main character was in their class.
More anime reference overload. A lighter episode compared to the previous one, and back to being standalone, but it had some nice moments and Ranmaru is an interesting character with the dichotomy between her manly personality and being all kyun kyun for Keita.
08-23-2012, 02:37 PM
Sakura and Ranmaru weird relationship.
Seems like Momiji only likes her because Sakura is not a fan.
Now all three are friends?! *shocked*
It's amazing how Ranmaru saw right through Sakura's mask.
Who knew her feamle classmates hated her so much to resort to kidnapping.
Flashback to Sakura's past sure revealed some interesting things about her present behavior.
Looks like Momiji is more of her conscience/psychiatrist than a worthy enemy.
It was rare to see Sakura open her heart to anyone.
08-27-2012, 10:45 AM
That ended up being a really sweet episode. Ranmaru is a great character, and exactly the friend Ichiko needs. We learn more about Ichiko's past, as does Ranmaru. So her whole life was destroyed at a very young age by an evil little Kugimiya girl. Happens to the best of us. Too bad this show will be over soon and won't have any time to develop into something more. It's starting to show some potential that really ought to be tapped.
08-30-2012, 03:41 PM
Sakura vs Momiji! A tennis match!?
Ranmaru was LOL all awkward about Keita.
A prince of tennis parody? Well, it was fun to watch.
Looks like Sakura found something she wasn't good at.
Momiji got reinforcements - Kuroyuri.
Their little cooking contest was a fiasco...
Well.... this was an interesting episode, but slightly less funny.
09-03-2012, 03:32 PM
Pretty much just comedy in this one, which is also fine, since the series is pretty good at pulling that off. Unfortunately, there's hardly any time left for the series, so it never has a chance of accomplishing anything special. It's still doing two stories per episode, and introducing new characters, but not looking to do much with them in future, or at least that's what it seems like. At least that comedy is still enjoyable. So many references, as always.
09-07-2012, 04:11 PM
Momou's transformation & prevert Bob = Ranmaru in shock
Well, she dealt with them pretty well though LOL
This is a first, Sakura actually missed Momiji.
I was surprised Momiji would be that cold and ruthless towards Sakura.
Seems like she does care about her even if it's just a bit.
That toilet god sure told Sakura off, but also gave her a really precious gift.
Fluffy the cat went through some serious transformations.
09-10-2012, 10:09 AM
Oh hey, it's Softon. Come on, Sunrise, this was a perfect opportunity to cast Midorikawa.
Of course the cute little cat would have to turn into a cute little catgirl. I guess she'll be around for the rest of it? Not that there's much left.
A stone she can wear to prevent her from ever absorbing anyone's happiness energy again? Shouldn't that have been the first thing they did? There must be something more to that. I wonder if they'll try to force some kind of conclusion to the series. Gintama always ends with promising the audience that there will be more soon, but that's popular enough that they know they can make that promise, so it isn't the same case here, especially since it was only planned for one cour, instead of just as long as they had material to adapt for.
09-13-2012, 02:52 PM
Momiji sure fell low...
Ranmaru sure became nice friends with Sakura.
Even though her way of life is antiquated most of the time.
Sakura just can't get away from her supernatural "friends".
Momo vs Kitty... things just can't be normal around Sakura.
Ranmaru sure has it bad for Keita ^^
The whole bath thing was just LOL, especially Momiji's forced wash ^^
OMG, that Sakura - Keita awkward situation may have opened a chance for those two..
09-17-2012, 10:30 AM
Fanservice episode! Now things are very awkward between the characters who have seen each other naked, and Momiji is hot! The preview says the next episode is a "part 1", so I guess the rest of the series is a 2-episode story. I hope it's good. It does suck that the series doesn't have more time, because I feel like it does have potential to be something better if it had the time for it.
09-20-2012, 10:35 AM
Momiji's sudden transformation was just wow!
That bath Sakura gave her did wonders on her attitude and appearance.
Sakura was suspicious of Momiji's little story though.
Death Note analogy was really good!
Even Momou missed the real Momiji.
Sakura is a total tsundere girl LOL
The new, nice Momiji was really amazing.
Shame it didn't last longer......
09-22-2012, 09:27 PM
Wow, this was a very different show for most of this episode. Who knew that the fanservice episode would've been so important? Obviously she has to change back, but I wouldn't mind some more of this Momiji. Of course, it's not like it would be impossible for Ichiko and Ranmaru to bathe her and Kumagai again and keep them clean (they can kill two birds with one stone by tying Momo up), and it would definitely be more than worth it. At least she served a good purpose while she lasted. Hopefully the final episode isn't too much of a non-ending, because that could be somewhat disappointing.
Also, so much Death Note. I love it.
09-28-2012, 12:11 PM
It was nice seeing Sakura fight to save Momiji's new form.
That Bobby sure is a naive pervert ROFL
Sure was nice seeing Sakura & new Momiji bond.
Ranmaru vs Momou!
Now that was a pretty cool fight... until he turned perverted again *sigh*
Kitty vs Teddy! That was the shortest fight in history LOL
Sakura in a dilemma over Momiji, that was a new one.
Seems like she likes Momiji no matter what! ^^
Really nice final episode.
