Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
...Seriously?
I don't even.
This is awesome. At least I hope so. I have a feeling my tolerance for male leads like whatshisname in this has dropped precipitously through sheer attrition, so I hope that doesn't tank what was a really great franchise. Or maybe I'm not remembering him right. Actually, I don't remember him at all.
Fuck it all JUST GIVE ME MY SUISEISEKI!

Indeed, though back then I don't think I was as focused on seiyuu (that started, as so many things did, closer to the time of Haruhi which aired after all but Overture), and I always liked a few of the dolls better as characters.
I will no doubt enjoy Shinku a lot more than I used to now, though.

Well, that is if they don't reboot the series with a different cast. Does seem like pretty much all of the cast is still active these days (some less so than others) so I'm guessing that won't happen, though.

Fantastic, it's confirmed as a TV series, not just an OVA.

That's great to hear considering that the second season was totally filler. This season should be about Kirakishou, and I am hoping this to be as good as the first season at the very least.

(I wonder if the scenes are just "flashbacks" and if the anime actually starts with the older Jun).
This year's combined 21st/22nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine is revealing the cast, staff, and character designs for the new Rozen Maiden television anime on Thursday. The cast members from the previous anime projects are reprising their roles with two new additions, Chiemi Chiba and Ryota Ohsaka.
The cast are:
Sakura Nogawa as Sixth Doll Hinaichigo
Miyuki Sawashiro as Fifth Doll Shinku
Rie Tanaka as First Doll Suigintou
Yumi Shimura as Second Doll Kanaria
Natsuko Kuwatani as Third Doll Suiseiseki
Rika Morinaga as Fourth Doll Souseiseki
Chiemi Chiba as Seventh Doll Kirakishou
Ryota Ohsaka as Jun Sakurada
Asami Sanada as Jun Sakurada (in middle school)
Mamoru Hatakeyama (Sankarea) is directing the new anime at Studio DEEN. Tomomi Mochizuki (House of Five Leaves, Fancy Lala) is writing and supervising the series scripts, while Kyuta Sakai (Sankarea, Steins;Gate, When They Cry - Higurashi) is serving as character designer and chief animation director. Shinkichi Mitsumune is returning from the previous Rozen Maiden anime projects to score the music, and Ali Project is again performing the opening theme song.
The new adaptation of Peach-Pit's manga will premiere this July on the TBS and BS-TBS television stations.
