まんがーる!

Short episodes about manga editors who happen to be girls. Definitely not about girls who are men, or men who are girls.

Episode 1:

- I want them to continue to explore that reaction Aki had to Hana saying she "wanted her". Explore it goooooood.
- Hana blackmails Aki and buys Tsugumi with snacks. Only Ringo joined intentionally, and she expects the magazine to fail soon. :sd:
- Bit of manga industry information. Run in the red in the magazine but make it back in the tankoubon! It's like Bakuman light.
- And somehow they get their magazine off the ground. Good luck, girls.

Ahhh, actual effort. Much much much better than Ai Mai Mii, though I doubt it'll ever touch Yama no Susume. Still, pretty cute.

Episode 2:

- Donuts, donuts everywhere. And there's a character named Shinobu. Donut war!
- Being a manga editor is hard. Especially when you're Hana and have no idea what being a manga editor entails.
- Shinobu is super cute. She also ends up having to remind Hana to do her job.
- Then Hana tries to get Shinobu to name the heroine after her. :sd:

Seiyuu are two complete newcomers and two virtual newcomers for the lead four, backed up by powerhouses Kayano, Taketatsu, Kitamura, and Yuuki. I like seeing new and veteran mixes like this.

-Oooooh MANGA Girl. I get it now. I supposes that's preferable to the alternative...
-Is the OP 50% of the show length?
-This show is animated at a strange speed. Is it clipping because of less frames or did someone give CR a crappy encode?
-White autumn? Also yay implied yuri (even when it's a joke, it's appreciated).

Er what just uh... that moved ridiculously fast. The girl with glasses is cute.

-Um... things happened.

This show is trying to pack 15 minutes of plot into 3 minutes of show. That's dangerous.

-Editor-in-cheif is worst than useless at a photoshoot.
-NO! BAD! Stop photoshopping models! Bad meganeko.
-No nudes :\

Uh yeah. That was another overly fast paced episode with an odd frame rate. I really wanna go back & rewatch Doujin Works now.

This was fun, cute... but obviously too short.

Episode 13:

So I figured what the hell, kill some time while waiting on the last two eps of GirlPan by undropping this. Doesn't exactly take long to watch 11 more episodes of a 3 minute show... I also kinda like to support Douga Koubou. They do slice of life stuff well.

For 30 minutes of silliness this wasn't bad, though it does the same annoying thing most short shows do - run everything at max speed. You can't go more than a few seconds without someone talking, usually quickly. This is what really sets Yama no Susume apart from the rest... Still, I liked Shinobu-sensei and the bit with Aki cosplaying White Autumn at Comiket. There were some other amusing moments as well. Decent enough, then.
