Review (http://www.animeondvd.com/reviews2/disc_reviews/2858.php)
This is my sleeper hit of 2004 so far. A really fun 13 episode series. Still waiting for this volume, but I'm sure it won't disappoint. And I also only listen to the dub on this one, it's perfect.

Sort of makes me wish that I had tried this series out to begin with. Maybe I will take the plunge sooner or later. I still say Geneon's listing for this on their page is messed up...45 mins? /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif (I realize it is 75 minutes, but even so! /images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

So true, the dub works so well with this show. It helps that the actors are very good. The other thing is the music, love the sound track. More people need to pick this show up, maybe with the next rightstuf studio sale. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

...that no one is watching /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif. I just got done watching the last disc and it was great /images/graemlins/happy.gif. This is a fun, action packed show that actually has a pretty good story. I feel that because of a bad trailer, which is the original Japanese trailer btw, a lot of people didn't bother to pick this show up. Hell, the only reason I picked up this show was because I had store credit at Digitaleyes and figured it wouldn't hurt to give the first disc a spin. I'm glad I did because I think this show is one of the gems to come out in the last year. Overall I would give this disc an A and would give the series an A also. I just wish that Bubbles would have made a return.
I was really glad to see Rowe and Clair finally get together also. It was quite sweet the way it happened, very well done /images/graemlins/happy.gif. Also I like the way it ended, showing that Rowe didn't die. I was a little worried at the end but glad I continued my policy of always watching past the end credits for the last episode of a show
Great stuff!! Everyone go out and buy this, you won't be disappointed.

You've already been warned about the spoilers!!!!!
I'm kinda confused as to the ending. Specifically, the part where Rowe is walking and the other guy stabs him in the back. All of a sudden, Jack pulls up and the sound goes out. All you see are his lips moving, him and the bad guy smile, and then you hear a gunshot and see a red bullet shell fly out. Wasn't the red bullet shell one of the fake ones like they used to 'kill' Noel?
1. So why was Jack smiling if his partner just got stabbed in the back?
2. Exactly who fired at who, and why did they use a fake bullet?
3. And exactly what was Jack saying to the guy?
I saw the credits and saw that Rowe lived. But I'm just confused as to exactly what took place in that one scene.
I'd like to hear the answer to your questions as well.
More spoilers:
It seem that Rowe was too sharp to let himself get stabbed in the back. He didn't seem very startled or upset about it either.
It wasn't clear whether Jack shot the son of they tycoon, or vice versa, but Jack was too good to let the son get the drop on him.
I didn't quite understand how the Noelle assination went. The son of the tycoon was disguised as Jack, but why wasn't Noelle killed?
Were the bullets fake? Planted in the son's gun by Jack?
What was the meaning of the bullet hole in the clock pendant?
I rented it so it is too late to go back and watch it again. I'll probably pick up the series if it comes out in a bundle for a good price.

I was confused by some of it too. I think that Jack talked with Noelle about how she was suppossed to be assasinated the night before it took place so she knew what was going on. Rowe, I thought, used a real bullet but hit Noelle's clock/pendant instead so it looked like he hit her. Maybe the bullet was fake, with a red liquid inside? It never really explained it.

I have to agree with everything you said here - I saw the trailer and immediately all thoughts of buying it disappeared. It was only through a few people defending it on the forums that I decided to give it a chance and I'm very glad I did. But the series is well worth seeing.

I was happy with the Claire/Rowe pairing - I've rewatched the show a few times and it's fairly obvious Claire had her sites on Rowe for most the series. Nice romance and a good counterpoint to the otherwise grim events in the wider world.

I think Jack shot Frost, who was armed with a knife. I'm not sure why Rowe didn't die.

you've got the timing wrong - it was Rowe who shot her. Frost was standing next to Jude McManus at the time of the shooting, so it wasn't him who fired. Later on, when Taylor and Frost are talking to each other on the phone is when Rowe catches Frost and the identity switch happens (you can hear faint sounds of a struggle - Frost is tallking at the start, but it is Rowe who ends the conversation saying that they caught Rowe, using Frost's voice).

I'm not sure if the bullet is actually a blood-capsule or the clock contained blood, but presumably if Noelle had been hit it would have hurt, so I think the clock was the actual target. I think there's a symbolic part to it as well - the clock is frozen just as it hits 15, kind of marking the end of the 15-year princess.

As far as Rowe not dying, at the end they show the picture Rowe had of him, Jack, and Noelle, with a knife-size hole in the top center. Apparently it was in the right spot at the right time.

Is that what happened? I paused that frame and was trying to make sense of that picture. It looked like it was broken or shattered near the top, but it was hard to tell.
Jing in my opinion was the sleeper of 03 and L/R is the sleeper of 04. A series that is absolutely a good time. JK did a great job on this series.

doh! I've been rewatching the series a lot to do the crystalacids dub info on it, and I've seen that picture a lot since it's at the end of the credits, but it never dawned on me what it meant - I even knew it was a knife that did the damage. Well that explains how Rowe survived, which I'm happy about.
This really must be one of the best series that no one is watching /images/graemlins/sad.gif
That trailer has a lot to answer for.
