I watched Cosplay Comples tonight and there are actually 3 Easter Eggs that are really easy to find.. and fun.

On the title menu screen press up on the "O" in complex for a Japanese Commercial promoting the show.

The press up again to highlight bunnie ears to get a video compilation short with a VO by Chako.

finally go to the DVD credits page and push up to highlight the "Whip" to get a Mosaic filled censorfest of edited naughty bits sent out to entice the Japanese to buy the Unedited version of the show on DVD!!

this show actually had a good amount of extras in my opinion!!

Just watched this one tonight and goddamn was the hilarious! Really good show, and much better and funnier than Puni Puni Poemy turned out to be. The lolicon lesbian stuff was so very wrong, and yet so very right... /images/graemlins/shy00000.gif

I have been waiting for this film to come out since February and freaked when I found out that the streetdate was moved to June...I even had it noted in my calender...and then as soon as June 1st came around, I went out and bought it. I was happy to note that it was sold out from two different stores until I found it at Frys. grin. yippeeeeee! I was super happy with the way it came out, so far, it's a toss up between Delmo and Pipin (from magical Play) who are my favourite characters to act as. Very tough to decide. I'm glad to hear that people liked it a lot. Makes me giddy. /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif

I rented this show and that was a mistake. After watching this I don't know what I was thinking...I should have bought it! Very amusing and fun little show.

I just got the DVD today from DDD. I had hard time finding it last week from my local BB and Suncoast and ended up ordering it online.

Well, I finally saw this yesterday/today and I must say that I still love this title even though I hadn't seen it in a couple of years. Good, good stuff. A little disappointed at the "Cosplay Identification 101" that should not have missed obvious ones (like TokiMemo, Tifa Lockheart, Pikachu, Dejiko, Mahou Shoujo Yongo-chan, Cyber Formula, Gunbuster, Sugar) but at the same time it surprised me with ones that I didn't know (like the Star Trek one).

Also, I don't know if I'm the only who noticed but, the language seems to have been toned down in some parts for the subtitle translation (I didn't check the dub). Words like Imouto in the OP song get translated as "little girl" when it should be more like "little sister", Panchi in that context IMO should have been "Panty" instead of "Punch", and Loli-na 9-sai gets translated as "Rorina cutie" instead of the more literal "Loli-na 9 yrs old". Then again, I'm kinda picky about things like this /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif ...

Overall I was very pleased but, the whole OP logo change still doesn't sit well with me (good thing the original is included). Kudos to ADV for translating the interview (http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v299/aleczman/Cosplay%20Complex%20R2/Volume%203/?action=view&amp;current=cosplexr2_vol3_lebook_inside_ interview.jpg) included with R2 vol. 3's LE booklet (would have liked a translated version of the comic as well /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif but I guess I can't have everything /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif).

Edit: I forgot! Back when the show was coming out in R2, I had a very interesting conversation in a now-defunct Spanish-speaking anime message board where we came to the conclusion that Jenny Matel was inspired/based on that famous Italian cosplayer Francesca Dani (http://www.francescadani.com/). They're both Italian, busty and blonde. What do you guys think?

I loved the show, especially the ecchi lolicon Jenny. It's obvious why this probably didn't become a TV series (though I wish it had). Plus, I actually knew most of the references in the show.

[/ QUOTE ] I too hated the translation. Many of the lines were inaccurate or even wrong. I also hate how ADV puts those commercials before the menu. :/
But in overall I liked this release. Video quality was good for once.

Don't quote me on this but I remember hearing that when Cosplay was originally supposed to be released in February (I was waiting at the local vid store to buy mine) I was told that it was being re-edited in some spots. I do remember hearing the original dialog and boy was it naughty....but I think it was a bit too naughty to be released and so had to be reworked or something like that. I know that I had to go back and redo one of my lines. So, my guess was that it was toned down for public distribution. That's just my hypothesis....so I might be completely off when it comes to what I think. So, just take what i say with a grain of salt. I might be way out in left field...I dunno. I'm rambling now. Gotta go to work. blech.

FYI, it's not good to spread rumors or "hypothesis" like that as many fans pick it up and believe it without knowing the truth, especially when posted by someone who has an association with the industry.
