Well, in the english dub there was a small bit in ep 39 that was wierd. A flux in the soundtrack.
Episode 40 how ever was missing all sound effects. /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif

ADV really needs to slow down it's releases or hire a much larger, much more effective Q&A team. I'm guessing the current team is over worked.
If they recall this, Eva and Rahxephon, that's 3 discs all released in a 3-4 week period.
Am I missing any other recent discs they've messed up?
I like getting my stuff in 6 week intervals, but I'd rather wait 8-10 if the extra time is used to avoid these farts in their releases.
Doing recalls for all of these will be a costly endeavor.
My SS 8 hasn't shown up yet, and I don't normally watch dubs, but I'll double check for you on my setup whenever it does arrive.

depends on how recent you mean. SuperGals! v.6 had a phase inversion in one of the audio channels, Najica v.2 had missing audio (one half of a telephone converstion was missing, but could be heard if you played the commentary track).
But I agree about the Q&A - there's no point rushing stuff out if it's faulty, and in the longer term won't do their reputation any good. They need to fix this asap.

I think it's a given any company will have problem discs. ADV just seems to have had a bad batch here recently. Someone said that given how much they release the ratio of bad/good is the same as everyone elses. I'd be curious to see if that still holds true after all of these latest issues.
Najica was a while ago, not sure about SG6 since I don't buy it and VoaDS was last year sometime. Spaced out I'd say.

I don't know if this was posted by any of you in the gamefaqs board, but someone there also reported the same problems:

Finally got around to watching the disc. I don't know if there's a bad batch out there, but episode 40's dub has a bad sound mix. Some of the background voices are barely audible, and certain sound effects are missing. Maybe it's just my disc. I'm gonna exchange the disc on monday and see what's going on. Hopefully it's just my disc. v.v;
And this one is not a technical bug, but what the hell, it was also included in his post :p
Also:
-Milo's dub voice needed some getting used to. I couldn't help but laugh when he started talking, but he gradually began to sound okay.
-I noticed that certain dialogue were rewritten in the dub, with results varying. Milo now has no idea who his Goldie peers are, instead of how many are active.
-Subtitles show Aiolia's name as just that, while the back of the DVD case has it spelt "Iolia". Hmm. Aiolos remained the same.
-Saori's VA didn't sound too good here. In some scenes, she sounded as if she was stoned. >.>;;
-Deathmask's VA is the same guy who did Geki and Ikki, I think. Same gruffness and stuff.
-June -> Juna.
June never appears again, so whatever. At least Aioria's name was finally fixed :p
^^That would be me. Hi.
Anyway, I didn't catch the other glitch on episode 39 (must've been minor?), but episode 40 was full of it. I stopped watching halfway after the SFX for June's whip was missing. I hope ADV does a recall, since exchanging the disc now would most likely be pointless if it's a batch problem. Sigh.

I just got my copy today. Bets disc of the series so far content-wise, but I noticed the two glitches as well. The glitch in episode 39 looks to be a slight flutter during the scene in which Shiryu is talking to Kiki and Shunrei. It only lasts a second or so. But the sound effect drop off in episode 40 is obvious and just ridiculous. I plan on e-mailing ADV about it as this looks ot be a problem across the whole run of the disc and not just a player or sound compatibility issue.

Another user in our StS Q&A topic in the other board told us she had the same problems with her volume 8 as well. It's definitely an error in the entire batch.
