In Summary:
Dokkoida!? stands out as one of those hidden gems in a sea of popular titles that few people end up seeing but those that do end up raving about. It's release reminds of the similar feeling I had back when Black Heaven came out and it seemed like nobody was even interested in trying it because of the cover artwork, not realizing what a great show was hidden inside. Dokkoida!? manages to do a super-hero parody, something that's been overdone in the past few years, without going too far over the top or being too obnoxious or truly in-joke about it, instead keeping a fun and engaging serial story going along with the action and jokes instead of resetting it every episode. With a fun and quite diverse cast that hits a number of areas combined with some slick writing and great comical action moments, Dokkoida!?'s one of those series that I'll continually recommend checking out.

Highly recommended /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif. I posted my thoughts elsewhere but I was very impressed with the series overall and loved every second of it. It might just be my favorite release over the last year, I hope more people pick up this gem of a show.

Well based on that recommendation I'll pick up volume #3. I already have the first two, but haven't had a chance to watch them. I guess I can take advantage of the Geneon sale at TRSI . /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Great show. It manages to parody a whole bunch of stuff while keeping the humour from racing off into Excel Saga territory, and even manages a semi-serious plot as well. The extras are good fun as well.

I get the feeling there's only a handful of people watching this show, which is a shame since it's one of the best comedies I've seen in ages.

Dokkoida was FUN, FUN, FUN!

I had zero expectations going into this show but it turned out to be a great ride. All the characters are likeable, the humor is dead-on ( I nearly popped a gut in ep. 8), and extra sprinkles like the great Nightjar menu, reversible covers and a sturdy box all add to a definite winning combination.

As mentioned in the earlier thread we bought these with no expectations and wound up being rewarded with a fun show that will definitely be watched again down the line. Anybody who passed on this one should reconsider.

Once Gungrave #4 becomes eligible for the Geneon coupon I'm going to pick up the last two DVDs. Great show. The ufotable series that followed this, 2x2 Shinobuden is even funnier. I hope Geneon picks that show up as well.

I would kill for a sequel /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif. Does anyone know how long the manga is? Is it still running?

Definitely one of the funnest shows I've watched in a long time. The parodies don't come in overwhelming force and they're all focused on otakuness which just makes it all 10x more funny. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif UFOtable is fast becoming one of my favorite studios.

I really enjoyed this show. No one escapes from the creators' reach-- CM for loan agencies, politicians and the Patlabor 2 movie. /images/graemlins/wink.gif This volume had us ROTFLMAO.

This is an example of what a good trailer can do for you. I watched it and was hooked by the character designs and the catchy OP song (watched it over and over), picked up the first dvd and was hooked on this series.

We watched this dvd as a double feature with Hanaukyo Maids #1 and had a really fun anime night. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Only one problem with the show: It needs nipples! /images/graemlins/noseblef.gif
