In Summary:
Ghost in the Shell continues to feed a certain craving in anime that I have. Just about every aspect of this series has won me over from the start and it only continues to be more and more engaging and exciting as it goes along. With stories this time that don't tap into the Complex episodes, we get to see more sides of things and an expanded look at how Section 9 works that it helps to flesh things out even more. Taken as a whole, this is a great set of episodes particularly if you're enjoying the growth of the Tachikoma's and their own nifty way of dealing with each other. I simply can't get enough of this show.

gave this and A and Positive since there doesn't seem to be any problems w/ this release from Chris' review which i skimmed thru. I'll know for sure when I get the SE probably in a couple of weeks. These episodes here are great, Got some good Motoko action in ep.13 and a bit in ep.14. Batou gets some great screen time in ep.16 and finally ep.15 is a good and important SA episode.

I don't get it... are there really no glitches? Did I miss something?

I feel the same way. Every episode of this series so far has been just perfect, and the animation and sound and everything is just yummy. Although I'm annoyed with Bandai for all the problems with the DVDs, I'm also very thankful that they and Manga helped bring this great series into existence by co-producing it. And once we receive our replacements (well, those of us who have the option :\ ), we'll have a pretty good release of the series (even though the looping menus are annoying and the video has some edge enhancement). I've generally been worried about the US studios gaining too much influence on the anime being made, but when it helps bring series like being made, I can't complain. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif
So, this volume is safe to buy then? No screwups this time?
If there's no problems with this release, I can safely say I'll pick it up as soon as possible.

So the casing for SE-4 is the standard-black, right?
dangit!
Oh, well. As long as there were no audio-issue this time around.

DTS disc is error free, and these were some great episodes.

Yup. Didn't know Motoko's only 5'6", per the id-card. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

Does that go for the dub as well?

This is great news! Now all I need is a fixed DTS dub track for Vol. 3 and I can let al of that GITS:SAC DTS dub goodness just wash over me!

Yeah, I know, but that's how much I love the DTS dub track on this series. It's that good.

The ID card is the LE this time. Whoever's packaging these DVDs switched back to the black case, and it literally stinks! /images/graemlins/depresse.gif
The discs are getting switched to a Clear Double M-Lock stat.

Well, you have to give them credit for consistency. Stinky single-disc cases, and now stinky double-disc cases too. /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif

I'm pissed about the consistency about the "silk screening" on the discs. I wish they would make up their minds dammit! Are you going to put artwork all the way to the center hole or only put it only to the plastic ring. I don't care either way just don't change it every freaking disc /images/graemlins/stunned1.gif

I think all the DTS discs are now go only to the plastic ring. My corrected copy came back this way (http://www.snoochyboochy.com/journal/january2005/gits.jpg) . It seems now that the only ones that go to the "center hole" is the DD disc for #1 & #3. But... what does Vol. 4 look like?

DTS looks exactly like the corrected copy you received. The DD is the same only that the ring is see through rather than silver.
