Anyone going to be attending this Expo? I think it looks like it will be very interesting and fun. I'll probably go to this during my vacation to Japan this June. It seems like it's centered at enviromental technologies and developments.

I would really love to go for a variety of reasons, but the chances of that happening are essentially zero, unfortunately. /images/graemlins/sad.gif

I'll definitely be following it in the news, though.

I'd like to go since the preperations for it were discussed a bit while I was living in Japan (one of my students worked in the 'planning department' for the prefecture, so I heard a bit about the planning). Also, since I lived in Aichi-ken (Nagoya area), I got to see some of the preperations for it first hand and it would be a good chance to see old friends.

Alas, I have no money to go. But I'm looking forward to hearing about it.

I could possibly have been working at that actually. Unfortunately their requirements were rather high, and the pay sucked. If I'm going to be in Japan for several months I'd actually like to have money to pay for more than just food.

I had a shot at working it too, but didn't get it (IMAX technician). Still working on going though, probably sometime in August, when it's nice and hot and sticky. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif There's a group of students going from my school--I may jump in with them.

Of all the things to see and do there, I'm probably most looking forward to going through the replica of the Kusakabe's house from My Neighbor Totoro.

I'll be there for a little while checking it out for work. I work for one of the urban parks/sustainable center NPO's that is a partner with the NPO/NGO Global Village.

Yep, I'll be dropping by too. Have a friend working there during the expo period and am hoping to spend a few days down checking it out!
From what I've heard about the expo from friends alon it sounds like fun. They definately to up the advertising for it in northern honshuu though - I've come across quite a few people here who don't even know it's going to be on!

Does anyone know of a site that has any actual pictures of the Expo? I know it hasn't started yet, but some development pictures or similar.

You know what I would love to see most. How about a World Expo return to the US? It would be amazing to see a World Expo in New York, LA or DC. The last world Expo in 1982 was such a disaster financially in Knoxville, TN. I doubt we will see a World Expo in the US in my lifetime.

Hallo everybody. I'm new here but wanted to say anyway that I will work in the Belgian Pavilion at the world exposition in Japan, and that I will keep everybody informed about my experience being in Japan and at the world exposition. Probably I will also take videos, interview people, etc. Everything will be visible on my weblog http://expo2005.blogspot.com. The site is and will be both in Dutch (my mother tongue) and English.
Please let me know what you think? /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Seems like the environmental theme of Expo2005 was just too "touchy-feely" for some /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif :

Porn shoot uncovered at tech expo (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,16469316-13762,00.html)

"An actress exposed her upper body and an actor touched it inside a gondola in the one-minute scene"

I've been on the Kiccoro gondola; the ride is over rather quickly; no time to get to more hardcore stuff /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
