it's nice that Chris has finally decided to review the Hustler/Japan X dvds but after hearing this poor video and crap subtitles, this doesn't seem much better than a bootleg and it kinda seems he might not try another one. I am therefore quite disappointed now as Akiba Girls is my fave of the Hustler titles. I still enjoy the show itself but i'm thinking of cancelling my order now. Kinda wished Nutech would've picked this up cuz at least they'd give us some good video but despite their 'dubtitles' from the last title i got from them. ho hum /images/graemlins/relief1.gif. Oh well, I'm still looking forward to ep.3 if and whenever Milky decides to release it along w/ a bunch other shows i'm waiting from them to continue.

Hmmm... does it help any if one fiddles around with the TV settings?
Say like lowering down the contrast or dark levels?

Surprising about the video quality in this release. With Cage thought, the video transfer seems good.

Thankfully I can switch it off so that I can enjoy the show better.

Not good, not good at all. It already had a strike on it for being sub only. Now video and grammer problems. I still might get it but only in a package with other cheap hentai. Damn I was looking forward to his one and Sex Warrior Pudding. I did hear the video quatity on Cage was better. This makes me appreciate Nutech, Anime 18, Kitty, Critical Mass, and even Softcel even more.

Out of curiosity, are the screenshots over at XAVDream.com a fair representation of what the disc looks like? (Clearly they're scaled down and compressed, I just mean in terms of the general color and contrast.) If so, the soft, washed out appearance looks like nothing more than a stylistic choice to me, hardly something to knock down to a D...

Does anyone have the R2 so we could get a comparison?

The artwork is consistent with both versions and the Game that the H-Anime is based on by G.J? Sano Toshihide, who did the artwork that it is based has always drawn in those tones. You can also see that with Ane to Boin (It's a Family Affair)

I didn't see anything wrong with the video, of course my setup isn't top of the line and Chris B has more of an eye for that kind of stuff and those subs... horrible, but the title was enjoyable even with its problems. :virgin:
