In Summary:
There is just so much going on here but it achieves the level of plot where things start to really kick off that it's just exciting all the way through. Between the new and old characters, the changed relationships and the growing new ones, it's all moving forward at a great pace now and the start of the real storyline is about to begin now that the fifteen episodes of setup are complete. The cast is huge at this point and new people are bound to keep showing up. The action is solid and the show looks great. There are few series that exhilarate me like this when watching it or just talking about it, but the Universal Century Gundam universe is one of those few that do. This volume is just top notch from start to finish.

Now that we're getting to the meat of the show, Tomino continues to build layer after layer of intrigue as the AEUG starts their operation against Jaburo from their Orbital drop point that turns out to be a Titans trap(mirrors the Zaft attack on Josh-A on Gundam Seed) and the start of the World tour part of the show also the highlight of the 1st encounter between Amuro and Char after the events of the war
We see the survivers of the White Base and the Anti-Titans Earth Group, Kabara, and Jerrid formulation on his rise to become the leader of the Titans...to much of a dream for a lapdog like him... but at least he has drive and will pursue Kamille time and time again(we can compare him to Todd Guiness in Aura Battler Dunbine) now that the stage is set for All out war between the Titans and the AEUG... the Earth Sphere will become a battlefield, who will survive...
A+ for me

Is that Rosamia or Mauer on the cover? I thought Rosamia came along later in the story.
Cover is used on R2J volume 4 (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=BCBA-900)

I also really enjoyed this volume, but it wasn't until volume 4 that hooked me completely. I agree with Chris' rating on this one.

Rosamia. Her first appearance is indeed on this disc.

I actually felt that after the first 2 episodes of this disc, the quality fell rather sharply, reminding one of the original Gundam which also fell into kind of a rut once they reached Earth for the first time. The first 2 episodes are very good, but after that things slow tremendously, and the fact that Emma's gone for 10 episodes or so sure hurts /images/graemlins/sad.gif Add to that the fact that I reeaaalllyyy dislike Katz (although he's nothing now compared to what he becomes later) and this disc comes out as the worst of all 10 in the set. Not that its horrible, there certainly are good things on this disc like seeing everyone from the original show again, the reunion with Char and Amuro, and Rosamia the lunatic who vanishes of the face of the earth for a long, long time after her appearances on this disc. But compared to how good the other discs are, this one just doesn't cut it. Luckily the Earth story arc becomes a lot better with Four's debut in the next disc.

I forgot about Rosamia appearing before Four.
So true about Emma, when I first watched & started missing her, I re-watched the last episode before Earth to make sure she was still in the story. Glad the review mentions her character development.
