In Summary:
Get Backers has surprised me by having such a lengthy story arc when I was expecting more of a series of stand alone episodes. This arc in particular has been a lot of fun since it's doing a good job of providing not only really good action scenes but also for working well in establishing all the relationships of the large cast here over both the present and the past. With such histories and characters changing their lives over the course of things to where they are now, they're a bit more complex than they would be otherwise. This show is just pure fun on a lot of levels now and with good looking designs, a sense of wackiness and solid animation this show just wins on a number of levels.

I'm really enjoying this show more than I ever thought I would when I picked up the first disc on a whim. Volume 4 was actually my most anticipated February title. The stories are fun, the characters are likeable, and the women are hot. My only problem, and it has only been a problem these last two discs, is that Makubex is the WORST VILLAIN EVER!!!! God, I can't stand him. He's so lame. Besides that, everything else rocks.

I'm going to give this a B-/Netural. I feel this current arc is way, way too long. It is so dragging on...and I agree with Malrock that Makubex blows as a villian. I'm going to finish up the arc and then dump the series. I've lost interest in the main characters and hope they all die a miserable cartoon death...a sure sign that I'm just going through the motions as I watch this.
FYI: The English Dub is decent, but not stellar..."spotty" I believe it's called.

The Show is split into only two archs, The one for season one and the one for season two.
The Manga contunes even after the series, and just wraped up in Japan from what I have heard.

ADV Austan is known for not doing Box Sets.
Beside It would likely be split into two box sets.

Huh? What do you mean by ADV Austan (assume you mean Austin, the city)? I wasn't aware that different production facilities (if thats what you refer to) had any bearing on the later marketing of the title after completed release o_O

For a cheap re-release? Maybe maybe not. They can thinpak box it, or use an overlapped-disc brick or whatever. But either way, I want GB but will be waiting for the (in my eyes inevitable) cheap re-release down the line.

Well, two MAIN arcs. There are a bunch of smaller arcs throughout (like Venus de Milo).

This is the same Branch from ADV that did Sakura Wars TV, and they are smaller than the Houston Branch where their HQ is located. If you look at any title done by the Austan Branch only the Sakura Wars OVA got a box.

Out of pure curiosity, do you know where I could find such a list? On ADV's website somewhere?

The only reason I know what branch dose what Anime for ADV is because I work at a Media Play doing invintory and orders for DVDs all day, mostly I work with the Anime and Telivision sections.
ANN may have the information on the GetBackers Page. ADV may have it on their website.
