In Summary:
With two-thirds of the series already done, I'm still really ambivalent about this show. The first volume was interesting enough in providing some character driven material alongside copious amounts of fanservice and nudity but this volume just goes in with something completely unexpected and adds a new layer of depth to it. If you can't see beyond the nipples then this may not have quite as much appeal but shows like this where I can't pin down how I really feel about it are generally rare and often the ones with some really interesting conflicts to it that make it to be somewhat controversial at times. That alone generally makes it better than a bunch of the usual cookie cutter shows and this one manages to really keep my interest as it reveals more and more of itself.

Was this the volume that had the episode where Ai got ... "de-flowered"?

Video:
Originally airing in 2003, Popotan is presented here in its full frame aspect ratio for this transfer.

[/ QUOTE ]

At least my copy is anamorphic 16:9...

I haven't had time to actually watch it yet, though; only popped it into my player to check the aspect ratio.

Whoops, that's a cut and paste from a mistake last month; I think the first volume didn't include the widescreen tag and I had missed it the first time.

Yeah. This R1-series is just begging for pencil-boards, a box, and the LE-figures of the R2.

You listening Geneon?

pencil-boards, chipboard or bailey box, and/or figures. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

If Geneon were to do a nice chipboard box with the 3rd vol, I'd pick up the show in a hearbeat! /images/graemlins/happy.gif

... though I don't think that's ever happened /images/graemlins/sad.gif ...

Sunflowers? Why would sunflowers be singing when the show's all about dandelions? ^_^; Admittedly, it's been a while since I last saw the end credits for Popotan, but...

[/ QUOTE ]They're dandelions indeed. Cracks me up every time I hear S.U.K.I.

And the chorus goes like this:

S-U-K-I doki doki (LOVE) S-U-K-I GIMI GIMI (KISS)
S-U-K-I suki suki (LOVE) S-U-K-I sukiari? (KISS)

/me huggles his PoPoTan-E.P. with song lyrics. (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=LACM-4099) /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif

I like both songs, as well as all the nurse witch Komugi ones like "I really hate you" and "Ai no medisun". Very cute singer.
