Hello /images/graemlins/happy.gif.
For fun I decided to quickly put together a free console-style RPG for PC that helps people learn information about Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. Also, there is an option to learn Japanese vocabulary instead. Basically, I created something based on the sort of game that I've always dreamed of playing /images/graemlins/happy.gif.
It's available at http://www.tbns.net/knuckles
However, about 1 week before I released my game, I was told (on sci.lang.japan) that there was already a Learn Japanese RPG available. ( LRNJ - http://www.lrnj.com )
I had a look at the site and it seems to be an almost-commercial project with registration options up to $100US. So the two games are really quite different in that respect. Mine is a free project that I'm doing for fun, while LRNJ is a project that has a business model and is probably of much higher quality because of the registration money received. (I haven't played it much, however, so I don't know for sure.)
But it would be nice if you could give both games a try /images/graemlins/happy.gif. A lot of people seem to like the concept of an RPG that aids in Japanese language learning.
I hope you find at least one of the games useful! /images/graemlins/happy.gif
