In Summary:
Payoff, payoff and more payoff is what's centered around these episodes as the way all things have gone before come again and with people supposedly wiser, they're able to see the cycle and hopefully break it this time. Though the pairings become almost too much at times since it's all so neatly done and practically tied with a bow, it's a far cry from shows that don't even try to bring some sort of resolution or growth to its cast. With war stories, these aren't surprising at all and the intensity to them only adds a new kind of fuel to the fire and has you clapping out loud when the moments of honesty break through. This is just pure great Gundam material through and through and is exactly why you "suffer" through those early episodes. Without them, these wouldn't have half the impact. Great stuff and simply over far too fast.

as I stated in the Gundam Seed vol 8 review thread...now we're going down the road to the finish, action everywhere as the 3 factions[the EF, Zaft and our motley crew of heroes] fight for control of the destiny of the planet... good moments like Cagalli and Kira's family reunion, Ahthun confrontation with his father, his and Lacus escape in the Eternal(the Desert Tiger being alive also), the battle between ArchAngel and the Dominion(knowing that Natarle is a better tactician than Murrue) and Le Creuset putting the last details to his machinations make this vol a must see, can't wait for the CN broadcast of the final eps and the vol 10 dvd(I can't wait 2 month Bandai!!!!)

and the only thing I'll say about Gundam Seed Destiny is that I hope Bandai is getting this ready for R1 as soon as posible

My favorite volume to date. Why, you may ask? Cause of the 2 loudest silent sighs of relief in Gundam history.

Cagali: Kira, you're my brother!
Athrun: PHEW!!!!
...

Athrun: She's my Ex-Fiance
Cagali: PHEW!!!!!!!

That and Rau le Crusette's Biggest sob ever moment in the last episode makes it all worth while

I started watching Gundam Seed only a month ago, and after seeing the first dvd, I started grabbing all the volumes as fast as I can. The storyline is pretty compelling, and there seem to be a lot of character related plot twists. Although I figured out Kira and Cagalli's relationship early on, I was floored by the revelations Le Creuset provided in this volume. After watching 45 episodes of this in a month, waiting for May 10 to finish the series is going to be torture.

Seed restored my faith in Gundam. Period.

Oh and I'd like to add Ramius to the pantheon of mature anime babes. Love the mature ladies.

This year? Hell I hope we see the first volume (with box and soundtrack like with the first series) by August at the latest. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif That way they can get a few more volumes out by the end of the year!

I'd really rather the series finish airing in Japan first... Crazy things happen when you don't have endings...

I will tell you what this volume was fantastic.
I loved vol 8 but 9 kick in to high gear. I hope that 10 give me even more.

Well, I was going to wait until morning to watch this, but after watching volume 8, I couldn't wait.

Holy shit...

The revelations (especially in episode 45) were Earth shattering (though I kinda knew what was going to happen ahead of time). I just wish we could have seen the METEOR units in action. Hell they weren't even mentioned until the end of ep. 45.

I gotta give this one an A+ (even though we aren't rating series anymore).

That's why I'm hoping the first volume comes out in October or November. Destiny will be done by then.

If the series goes to 49-50 eps, it won't end till September. (Well done airing, the show proper will be done a little earlier one hopes). Getting a disc out in October/November means work on it done months earlier. Which is what is scary. Not having the whole thing to work on leads to potential problems.

Hey, I want it soon too! But I don't like rushing.

I think a respite until October or so for Gits: SAC and Gundam SEED would be nice. See, I wanna not have like 12398712 series to buy at once for a little bit so that's the best for me at least.

I'm really impressed with Seed. As it's gone on I've stopped thinking of it as a rehash of MSG and appreciated it for all the new bits it's added. These last 2 volumes (8 & 9) have been terrific and I can't wait for the final volume.
