In Summary:
While the plot continues to be relatively the same, enter a House, fight the Saint, get their asses handed to them and then discover the secret to getting past them, it does manage to be entertaining and with enough subplot material to allow the show to breathe without focusing strictly on the fights. The emphasis of the relationships between Shina, Cassios and Seiya really work well in this set and getting some new Ikki material was a real bonus. Good stuff though I wish they'd tackle some of the Houses just a bit faster.

Overall, I thought the battle between Seiya and Ailola went on way too long. They stretched it out for almost all five of these episodes, so it got a little old after awhile. All in all, another good volume of Saint Seiya, but I would have to agree 100% with Chris' review.... they really need to speed up the battles just a bit in the different houses of the zodiac. A positive from me overall though.

hi, I was wondering why it says that this volume is #11 of 12. Is ADV only going to release 12 volumes of Saint Seiya?? And if its true why?

I believe the first 12 DVDs are probably going to encompass the first season/major story arc of Saint Seiya, the Sanctuary arc, so maybe ADV is going to market the next two (or three if they get Hades) seasons as being seperate, so they'll get there own disc counts.

Unfortunately things don't really get sped up that much as it is essentially an epic show so the battles take most of the time. Saying that though, Saint Seiya is still good considering how much character development you get for each battle; which in a way is what makes it take so long.

The slowest temples are Leo and Pisces. Virgo is slow too, but it's awesome all the way through (if you think Leo was brutal.... /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif.)

This is one of the temple fighgts I disliked the most, though it's a lot better in the manga (it's solved in like 30 attacks less :p).

The reason the Leo and Pisces battles took so long was that they spend time developing Cassius and Shaina during those eps and they do not really have anything to do with the battle until towards the end... And for Pisces, they do all the character development that Shun didn't get throughout the series in one go which made it go on forever. Otherwise though from this DVD on things just get better and better and some fights are amazing.

But the Sanctuary arc ends at episode 73, and the last episode of vol.12 is episode 60. So they must release at least 14 or 15 volumes to cover the Sanctuary. Unless vol.12 will be a special release with more episodes, who knows ?
