'U2' is an adjective?

"Tottemo U2 na Monday" translated as "very melancholy Monday"

Does this mean what I think it means? That the name of the Irish rock band U2 has become a Japanese adjective?

Chigaimasu. Hahaha, that's funny. Actually, I didn't know this until I asked my girlfriend. She said it's "yuuutsu na" (憂鬱�：ゆ����), which means "gloomy, melancholy, or depressing." Maybe the songwriter was being cute by writing "U2" instead of the kanji. (2 is pronounced "tsu").

LOL, I had been wondering about this too. Thanks for the clarification.

(I haven't seen an original lyrics sheet or original Japanese subtitles, only the US DVD subtitles, so I don't know for sure that it says U2 in the original but presumably it does. Makes you still wonder if the songwriter has something against that band. /images/graemlins/happy.gif)
