GITS SAC Vol 7: Video Glitch?

While I only spot checked my disc(the flap with the hinges landed in my lap when I opened the DVD), I noticed something interesting. I think it's episode 24 or 25 where <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>The assult team is about to leave after going through the section 9 building.</span>

It has the main military guy standing next to a chopper, talking to a soldier. In this shot I'm not sure if it's dust or particles from the ground that the chopper is bringing up, but you see little black squares pop up. Not macro blocking, but like little blips that are only their during that scene.

Has anyone else seen this?

Gotta ask -- have you tried it on more than one DVD player? A lot of the time, it's a hardware issue. I'm hoping that's the case here since there's been a ton of glitches for this series already.

Tried it on my PC DVD drive, got the same thing. Tried it on my living room DVD player(I have one in my room) got the same thing.

It most likely isn't a glitch, but something production IG put in their for the helicopters. It only appears in that scene, and could very well be the dust they're kicking up.

Although I figured I would ask, since it did look glitchy.

Just had a look at the scene (near the end of Ep 24) on the fansub and it seems to happen on there as well so I don't think it's a DVD glitch. I should have my DVD next week so I can check it then unless others get theirs first.

Yeh, it's most likely just attention to detail with stuff that the chopper is bringing up. Got a little freaked out and thought the encode went wrong /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif. It looked more like blocks then dust and items though.

Which disc is this on? The DTS disc or the regular?

It's the regular disc.

I just picked up the GITS:SAC LE box yesterday and to my chagrin, found that throughout the regular (non-DTS) disk, that there are skips in the images and sound and random pixilations beginning about the same point that was originally described. However, these problems persist throughout the disk. I did check the disk for the usual suspects; scratches, finger smudges and can't find any issues with this.

I played several new disks and old disks and there are no problems with them. And I tried two other DVD players, they had the same problem with the disk. The evidence that I have found has lead me to think that it is the disk. I am sending this post to Bandai and will update the forum when I recieve a response.
