What is the signifigance of standung under a waterfall? Is it Buddhist, Shinto or both religious practice.
Does Japan have "sacred" waterfalls?

There are both shrines and temples that offer �修行. It's done to "train" your body and mind, to try to become one with the gods and nature.

I've seen some karate guys practice kata under waterfalls. pretty neat.
