About 10,000 sunflowers are now in full bloom at Showa Kinen Park, which stretches over the western Tokyo suburbs of Tachikawa and Akishima.
Some sunflower species at the park are "Van Gogh", "Gauguin" and "Monet", as the world-renowned artists all painted sunflowers at some stage of their careers. Other species include a reddish-brown sunflower called "cocoa" and a yellowish green one called "Sailor Moon".
The sunflowers, popular with many children visitors during their current summer vacation, are open to the public for viewing until Aug. 14.
