Drew Aaron's a great choice as Keiichi... especially when directed by Sean Schemmel. I would not be surprised in the least to see Sean direct Drew to ANOTHER dub award win to follow up on their Midori Days success.

Don't have much of an impression on our new Belldandy... has anyone watched the Gall Force: New Era dub?

Interesting, quite a few (relative) new-comers there. Dissappointing it's another totally new cast, though.

Whoa!

So we did get a third-vocal for the Goddess.

Can't wait to listen to this new Beldandy.

any bets on who will play Urd and Skuld?

Rachael for Urd and Veronica for Skuld? Would love to hear Jessica and Debbie in this show as a regular too.

Yay! for NYAV Post. I was kind of hoping for a NY cast. With two different casts in the franchise already, what's the harm in having another? /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Drew Aaron and Eileen Stevens I don't know much at all, Marc Thompson for Tamiya seems perfect, though. I like that Sinterniklaas and NYAV have been bringing in (or bringing back) some new blood in the NY pool, it worked great in Giant Robo and I have full confidence for this, especially with Robo's director Schemmel at the helm.

Unfortunately the only bad thing I expect is more lackluster MB crediting, making it oh so difficult to track the fine casts they've assembled...

As for future cast members, the usual NY stalwarts would be great, but I wouldn’t mind some of the people NYAV has fostered, like Eva Christensen for some role, like even Urd. Gimme Angora Deb as Megumi though and I'll be happy no matter what.

Not shocked about another cast. Wish it was the movie cast but hey not everything can come into fruition. I will at least give the new dub a try. Hopefully I can like it, but no LA dub makes me sad /images/graemlins/depresse.gif /images/graemlins/depresse.gif. I wonder how bad did MB try to get the LA one of the AnimeEgo dub? Would of been interesting to know that. JT

/images/graemlins/depresse.gif Color me disheartened...I was really, really looking forward to another LA version, with Ruby Marlowe voicing Balldandy no less.

Of course, I'll give the new dub a go and I know I'll like it regardless. NYAV does excellent, excellent work. Just give me a moment to soak it in. /images/graemlins/sad.gif

Well, I was shocked since I was expecting either Juliet Cesario or Ruby Marlowe to reprise as Beldandy. But it's all good. I'm looking forward to listening to Eileen's rendition.

The thing I'm most disappointed, however, is that Skuld most likely will not be voiced by Sherry Lynn again. /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif

After seeing the early review, I want the release date to hurry up and get here for this. Still remains one of my favorite series of all time, and I'm interested to hear the new dub cast for this series.

AnimEigo was the big cheese when I got into anime back in the day, and everything they had was subbed. So I've never seen OMG dubbed (or Bubblegum either). Other than Drew Aaron I've never heard any of them, but with that director, producer and writer, I look forward to some good stuff.

Ruby is the "opal" of Narob's eye and will be missed, but I'm hopeful that Sean and company can turn this diamond-in-the-rough cast into a real gem of a dub. /images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif

I'd be thrilled if Zoe Fries ends up being Skuld. Genshiken notwithstanding, Zoe has been largely absent from the NY dubbing scene lately.

Yeah, it's kinda dissapointing. Granted I'm a fan of what I've heard from NYAV so far, but I thought MB said they were going to try and get the VA's from the Anmeigo or Pioneer dubs. I know getting the Coastal Carolina actors is probably a pipe dream, but getting most of the Animaze actors should have been possible, even if they used BZ! or another LA studio.

It's not that the performance will not be enjoyable, far from it. It's just I do like to have consistency, just like when I was dissappointed when Greg Ayres became the third Kawouru in Eva platinum, despite him turning in arguably the best performance of the three.

EDIT: Or Read or Die and R.o.D the TV. Both extremely enjoyable, the latter being one of my favourite dubs ever, yet I still felt a bit dissappointed that none of the cast reprised their role.

I think I heard that he lives in New York and does most of his voice work there. That's why he hasn't had any really big parts in most recent FUNimation dubs (though he's still come in to reprise his previous roles and voice some minor roles)

She's got quite a lot of writing credits for Bang Zoom!, New Gen, and Synch-Point stuff (and notice she has done Piano (http://www.crystalacids.com/database/series/piano.html) for NYAV Post before, as well), though I don't think I've heard any of those in particular. I don't think it means she will have a voice appearance, since I'm pretty sure she doesn't have to be at the studio to write for the dub, just as FUNi's Tenchi dubs had in-house script writers (though it was recorded in California) or some of Viz's Ocean dubs have ADR Script done in California. That would still be neat, though. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

Looks to be a nice dub indeed. Especially if Sean and Mike are at the helm. Outside of Drew Aaron (whom I just now recognized), the cast looks quite new to me. I'm all for more A!MG and can't wait to see this show. I especially want to hear Eileen Stevens' take on Belldandy.

Ok. I just got AMG-TV vol-1 single-version from Bestbuy and overall it's...

<font color="blue">AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! </font>

The english vocals for Urd and Skuld were excellent in the intro. Yes, Skuld's was awesome and Urd's seems like a more mature version of Lanelle's Urd. I don't know who the VA's for them, yet.

Drew Aaron makes a stronger and more frantic Keiichi. Reminiscent of his Seiji of Midori Days, except not as aggressive-hostile. This is good as he makes Kei alot more acceptable and not as much as a loser like in the japanese-version, nor as desperate as Scott Simpson's ova-performance.

Karen Nell's Sayoko was perfectly JAP-ish. No, I don't mean "japanese". /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Marc Thompson as Tamiya was great in trying to growl-emulate Matt Matney's perfect ova-performance.

Scottie Ray was decent enough as Ohtaki, but I still prefer Sean O'Connel's perfect ova surfer-dude performance.

Zoe Martin's Hasegawa was great, too.

And how about Eileen as the new Goddess?

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! it was EXCELLENT!!!

Objectively, she sounded like a younger Juliet Cesario/Ruby Marlowe vocal, but was distinct enough from the two previous Goddesses.

Subjectively, I &lt;3 &lt;3 &lt;3 &lt;3 &lt;3 &lt;3 &lt;3 &lt;3 her vocal!!!! It was a soft, coy and kind vocal. Very, very feminine and 18-ish. Very angelic, very goddess. She was so sweet!

I'm so relieved.

Ok, enough of me foaming here. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif Go get your copy now! Double-dip! Double-dip! Double-dip!

Dude, you must quickly get to the nearest bestbuy in your area because the english-version just made this anime 100x BETTER than the japanese-version!

Just finished it and it's on 2nd-showing now.

I love it!!!

I so f'in &lt;3 it!!! /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Seriously, the english-version just made the anime MUCH MUCH BETTER and ALOT MORE ENJOYABLE.

fwiw, I followed the broadcast-version of AMG-TV and was not that impressed by it aside from seeing Bel again. To me, it was average and nothing spectacular. It went head-to-head against Air, and AMG-TV got creamed. At least to me. /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif

But this time around, the english voice-acting was PERFECT and made this anime PERFECT! Extremely funny lines delivered and timed perfectly. And it was very romantic as well. Drew and Eileen really hit it off so perfectly.

I'm so very very much thankful to the NYAV-Post crew and MediaBlasters for taking such good care of this title and making this anime much much more wonderfully delightful and much much more better than the japanese-version. The English-version is what AMG-TV should've been all along.

Imo, AMG-TV english-version should be broadcasted here in the States via AZN-TV, Nick-TV, Disney-channel, and Cartoon-Network. All simultaneous broadcast, too.

In closing and since I'm running out of sincere superlatives here to describe the english-version. /images/graemlins/sweat200.gif , I think AMG-TV english-version just became the best english rom-com anime of 2005. For me, at least. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

To the NYAV-POST va's and crew and MB,

<font color="blue">THANK YOU SO VERY VERY VERY MUCH!!!! </font>

I wasn't as enthralled by it. I found the characterizations to be typical of what's been done in the past--nothing new, nothing special. I thought the direction was off, and Urd and Skuld were kind of exaggerated imho. Belldandy chirped her lines constantly. It's challenging to give Belldandy a personality, because imho she has very little of one, but Eileen Stevens just sounded too Prozac-y. One reason I'm not as fond of the dubs for AMG as I am for the originals is that the story lends itself better to the soft, high Japanese lilt. Keichi had nothing new going on with him, either. NYAV is churning out some rather mechanical dubs.

I just picked up my Vol. 1 and box at Best Buy today. I like the design of the box and the cell phone strap is a nice extra to go with it. I hope that we'll be getting more of the cell phone straps in future volumes. Great idea by Media Blasters to do this as an packed in extra. Good thing I waited for the box version to get released as I almost bought just the DVD only version on impulse. Now to make space for it to share with the rest of my AMG related DVDs by Animeigo and Geneon.

I had only watched a few episodes previously, but it was definitely enjoyable as it is sticking pretty close to the original story of the manga. I really hope that another season is made, since there's so much story that Kodansha can cover.

Anyways, with the dub, thanks for pointing out some of the actors' various other roles as I knew they sounded familiar as I was watching. The dub is absolutely wonderful.

I thought the funniest scene in this volume was when Keiichi and Belldandy were having lunch with the little girl (Hijiri) and her mom and the girl asks, <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>"Hey mister, is that pretty lady your wife?" and Keiichi spews his drink, twice in fact as Belldandy almosts slips and mentions she's a goddess. The follow up line from the girl with the first time Keiichi did it </span> had me laughing really hard.

I just watched it and I'm very pleased. I think Eileen Stevens was excellent as Belldandy, and the voice match between her and Aaron Drew was really enjoyable to listen to. Speaking of which, Aaron's Keiichi impressed the hell out of me. When he's first talking to Bell and he's certain she's lying bacause she thinks he's cool, the many different emotions in his delivery really came across well. I'm quite pleased with everyone else, too. I think Karen Nell's Sayoko is one of the better Ojousama characterizations we've had in a while. The only thing that caught me off guard was Zoe Martin as Sora. She only had one small scene in the first or second episode, but it wasn't at all what I expected. She's always been portrayed as rather mousy and timid, but Zoe's Sora is sardonic and dry, like Ruri in Nadesico or Ichigo in Please Teacher/Twins. I'm not saying it's a bad performance, only that it wasn't what I was expecting.
