I heard that when tokypop first did the sorcerer hunters series, they censored & edited some things? Does anyone know if this is true? If they did, was it only in their tokypop mag, or did they do it to the flopped graphic novels too? If they did, what volumes were they, and what pages were edited? And finally: So far, is their second printing of the graphic novels unedited and uncensored? somebody please reply if you know the answers to any of these. Thank you!

I don't *think* the original launch of Sorcerer Hunters was altered (it did have a mature rating, I believe), aside from the craptastic translation/rewrite on volume 1, but I haven't done a complete volume by volume comparison. The relaunch is definitely intact, though. I can vouch for it. /images/graemlins/happy.gif

hmmm need to check my copies... but i thought the nazi symbol on the cap that one of the ladies wears was altered. or was that from some other show?

since even you say the 1st vol had a craptastic rewrite... will the new edition be released with a propper translation? since it is being released "intact"... is that for the art only or translations as well? I hope so. Also please do that for Ikki Tousen.

Ah, that's quite possible if there was a swastika involved.

As for the relaunch, you are behind the times, my friend! We've already released vol. 1-3, with (hopefully) an improved translation/rewrite. The original releases get significantly better as they go along though, so readers will probably see less of a difference after volume 3.

Ikki Tousen isn't my series (actually SH isn't either anymore), but trust me that Editorial is well aware of people's complaints with the Battle Vixens rewrite.

I didn't realize reprints could actually include rewrites... looks like I'll be adding a title to my list.

Oh, a rewrite of Battle Vixens? I don't quite know how to feel about that. On the one hand, it would be great; on the other hand I have 7 volumes so far and do not feel like double-dipping at the moment, but it is tempting....

Reprints generally don't include rewrites, but re-releases can. An example of this is Cardcaptor Sakura's "100% Authentic" re-release.

Since that is off-topic for this sub-forum, please keep all such discussion in the appropriate thread, please (http://forums.animeondvd.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1119354&page=0&view=colla psed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1).

When Tokyopop was doing MixxZine/Tokyopop magazine, when the Chocolat/Gateau intro story appeared, they put a black bar over Chocolat's breasts. The GN was uncensored.
