What I mean by editing is changing the original names like they did with Pegasus and the cards.

Most names and God cards are named correctly form what I've seen/heard(God of Obelisk(sp*) instead of Obelisk the Tormentor(sp* again)

Forgive me for not remembering everyone's level of detail, but --outside the god cards -- to what extent do you consider card names edited?
Basically the art has the English name most of the time, but often in the actual dialogue, they say the "correct" Japanese name (or equivilent translation that may or may not match the English words written on the card). In addition though, they do include a chart in the back of every volume that lists both the English and Japanese names of every card used in the volume. I am glad for that and have forgiven the card name changes since the chart is present.
The only character name that remains changed is Pegasus'.

Yeah, I decided to pick up vols 2-5, and vol 8 at Walden's Buy 4 get 1 Free sale yesterday, and the cards having the english names is what ticks me off (despite them giving their original names in the back). I can't read them yet though as nobody HAD VOLUME 1!! Two Waldens, a Media Play, and a Barnes and Nobles. WTF!! Anyway, I'm going to try one more Walden tomorrow and pick up vols 6 and 7 (provided they have it) along with 2 other books for their sale.

No because I do not buy from Rightstuf when something is sold at a regular store. I avoid unneeded shipping costs. Besides, ever since the whole .hack fiasco, I'm quite weary about them. I've had too many problems with them. Anyway, I found it today at the Walden by my work, and I picked up the 7 volumes to the regular series with it.

Let me know your verdict once you're able to read them. I'm on the fence of getting this series at the moment (same reasons).

I'm up to vol7, and so far, it is pretty good. There are things I like done better in it than the anime, but there are also things the anime did much better at as well (such as how Anzu and Honda snuck onto the ship).
Except for the card names, or lack of, being annoying, I like it (what I mean is that when Yugi calls up, say Summoned Skull (Eng name), he will say "I call Summoned Skull to the field." A page later, it may read, "My Skull Demon is going to attack your Great Moth," while Haga could say, "The Demon Summon will be defeated by my Great Moth." And so on. I think they called Elf no Kenshin/Celtic Guardian by 6 different names on one full page (meaning 2 numbered pages). Oh, and Bandit Keith is taunting Jounouchi by calling him Joey. /images/graemlins/knowital.gif
The translations seem to be accurate for the most part though, sans the card names. And I haven't noticed any pictures edited.

That particular example cracked me up. It was actually counting, too. /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif
I mean, yeah I really do wish it would just be consistent, but ..at this point... eh, whatever. /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif I like how no one believes it when *I* say these things, though. /images/graemlins/wink.gif /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

OMG, in volume 8, Pegasus brings out Toon Demon, and Yugi says, "Toon Demon... I mean, Toon Summoned Skull."

Don't get me wrong, it was funny, but it also makes me wonder now how much they added in there themselves.
