with the recent spade of edited titles from viz, was wondering what brand they were all published under?

anything from the shonen jump line with offensive content (minors smoking, minors drinking, nudity) could be edited out right? what about blood splatters and foul language being toned down?

what brand was decendents of darkness published under?

nothing from their editor's choice line has been edited so far right?

Blood is rarely edited, if at all. For a recent example, check out the cover of Vol. #8 of One Piece (http://store.viz.com/images/p/VIA/pdGNVIA0007.jpg) featuring a blood soaked Luffy.

Yami is a shoujo title. Age rating older teen or whatever Viz's equivilent is for that.

From accounts, foul language is definitely toned down in Eyeshield 21, where a character who loves to drop the f-bomb no longer has quite as foul a mouth.

Violence seems to be okay, though. Just evil language, vices, and *egads* !!nipples!! seem to get the axe. And little boy wang. Viz doesn't seem too keen on that, either.

And to reference Yami (though not Shonen Jump), blowjobs. Well, gay blowjobs, I don't know about straight ones.

You're forgetting guns like in Zatch or DBZ.

Straight blowjobs have gone unedited in Editor's choice titles (Saikano, Flowers and Bees). I can't think of one in a Shoujo title (or of a gay blowjob in an Editor's choice title) to sure what the 'standard' is.

I still don't get that edit. They've shown worse in the same series...hell, in the same *book*

Yeah, they might have cut the bj, but they left in the actual sex part (not detailed, but still, neither was what they cut)
Which is what makes it odd.

I just don't know what Viz is going to do when they get to Apollo in Eyeshield 21, he's an extreme racist.

Well he is but to say he is a extreme racist I think is well ermmmm extreme. They later explain his reasons and he in his own way he sees that he was wrong. Just a little they did this to me , so I will do the same thing to them and then "Oh no I'm doing the same terrible thing that they did to me, he is just like me when I was younger" *Pedro's voice* Noooooooo /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif Twin waterfalls /images/graemlins/cry00000.gif /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif. At least that is how I see it, maybe I'm to optimistic.

So in conclusion if they edit that is kind of dumb since at the end is no worst than a movie like "A time to Kill" where people do dumb stuff but at the end everybody learns a lesson. Ok maybe not everybody in the movie but the point is kinda clear.

I think its nice that they keep that, yet they change some stuff to fit 4Kids, like changing Zoro to Zolo and the Marines to the Navy.
