Make your own dub with this VA Region: North American Animation VA talent.

Yep believe it or not I'm doing this on North American Animation VA talent. This, like the other ones can be for any anime/Video game dub. And this alike the others is not applicable for all voice talent but is flexible...

1. You can add in Ocean, AniMaze/Bang Zoom! and TAJ/NYAV folk in but don't use them entirely. (What with the fact that they have their own seperate pages.)

2. Please refrain from using Hollywood celebrities that only starred in one animated movie or few, had only special guest bit roles and the like. Though known but niche screen acting charactor actors such as Tim Curry are perfectly acceptable.

Nancy Cartwright as Yusuke? I know he was voiced by a woman in the original japanese version but still. Well other than that it sounds okay. (Especially John Dimaggio as Kuwabara, I can actually picture that.)

Remember that Mrs. Cartwright also does the voice of Nelson Munzt. I was thinking perhaps if she could find a middle ground between Barts cockiness and Nelsons confidence she could do a pretty good Yusuke voice. I actually had no idea the character was voiced by a women in Japan when i came up with the idea,. but i guess i shouldn't be to surprised.

Interesting cast you got there Pokejed. I haven't heard much of Tara Strong in boy roles (Fairly Odd Parents I think is it), so it would seem a little too high pitched for Naota, but it's very hard to doubt Strong's range...

With Cummings and Kenny, I'm very familiar with their usual voices, which is a little hard for me to picture for the roles you chose them (not having seen too many American cartoons really cramps me as far as recognizing their range goes, though. Need to go check some voice demos of these VA's).

The rest seem like they may be really good.

For Naota I think all she would have to do is Raven maybe a tone higher. She certainly has the range no matter what. I think even her normal voice would work. In FLCL though, I think I'd like her as Mamimi more.

Which reminds me of something that's bothered me in the draft: I should have secured at least michaelwb's vote and drafted her for Rei or Shinji as I sort of hinted at in the very beginning. /images/graemlins/sad.gif

That might have been a good move. She's definitely an excellent talent (I may have even been thinking about her as well but I wouldn't have much confidence in being able to cast her in the right role). The dilemma came up with many of VA's that I believe are excellent talents, but I haven't heard enough of them in different titles to be able to use them effectively.

I was more thinking of a calmer-toned version of her Dyl Pickles voice from Rugrats All Grown Up. Though in retrospection it might be for the best to have E. G Daily to use her Tommy Pickles voice from Rugrats AGU as well.

I can definitely picture Tom Kenney as Gaku. Trust me he can do geeky higher-pitched tones just fine. Though as for Jim Cummings as Amaro its more of a bit of a amalgamim of his previous roles. I was thinking either him or John DiMaggio.

Hmmm... I have mixed feelings about that list. I know that there were some incidental voices on the preexisting CPM dubs that sounded a bit off, but I had no real problems with the voices you mentioned there before. Still, it IS a pretty cool idea: (Tim Curry would make a deliciously evil Wagnard)
