View Full Version : Genuinely Deep-Voiced Male VAs

Can any of you provide me a comprehensive list of RELATIVELY YOUNG male VAs (say around the 20s-30s) who have mucho bass in their voice, in real life and when acting? I was listening to an interview a while ago with Crispin Freeman and was sort of disappointed when his real-life voice was much like most other guys his age. I thought his "brooding" voice with Tsume, Amon, and Alex Rowe was so sexy. He's still a great actor though.

But anyhoo, I'd like to know some voice actors who really have a deep voice. I'll start with maybe Chuck Huber and Patrick Seitz (?).

I'll assume you're a female. /images/graemlins/sweat000.gif

You might want to look into some work by Greg Ayres. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I wonder if Mike "Voice of God" Kleinhenz fits the age requirement? Whenever someone starts talking about male VAs with deep voices, his name is always the first to come to mind.

For real??? See, this is why I hate them changing names all the time. And now that they got rid of the post counts, I have no idea whose who. /images/graemlins/knowital.gif

But with AoB, he doesn't come into ET all that often, so I wouldn't know what his avatar is. Not to mention alot of people change their avatars all the time.

His avatar changes pretty frequently too.

Jamieson Price would totally fit the bill if he was younger. Maybe Rome Elliot or Chris Sabat.

How old is Marty Fleck?

Yes, Jamieson Price has a very deep voice, and I love it /images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif
Steven Jay Blum has a very cool deep voice as well, but he is 40.

Travis Willingham, who is in his mid-20s, voices Roy Mustang in “Fullmetal Alchemist; he has a very deep voice in that anime.

Marc Diraison, who is 30, (Zolo in “One Piece and Shirakawa in “Piano) has a very nice deep voice as well.

I believe both of them have those deep voices in real life, but I am not 100% sure, can anyone confirm that?

Don't know, but I've seen a picture of Marty Fleck here (http://www.nu-classicfilms.com/cast_inserts/marty.html). He doesn't look to be that young.

Mike McRae fits the age requirements, and he's got an impressively deep voice. Listen to him as Gauron in Full Metal Panic, or as Gunjo-Teach in SuperGALS. Excellent stuff.

Off topic, but I saw more than a couple of familiar names in the cast and crew list - we had Ms. Christian in a bit part, a local musician who I rather groove to on sound production, and one of the bigger-name local film critics in town also on the cast. I might have to give this a shot at some point...

Voice actors with deep voices: Remember if Angel of Death calls you to a private casting session at his house, it is best advised that you do not go. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Diraison is the only good VA in One Piece. I can't stand any of the others. Especially David Moo. /images/graemlins/depresse.gif

Nobody likes David Moo. To be honest I think the woman of One Piece do a pretty bang up job.

Travis - yep. Saw him at a VA panel at Sakura-Con back in April. He is a reasonably experienced actor, though, so of course he can change it up a bit.
